Simply put, you put pyrex in the oven now a days since the early 2000's %26 it very famously combusts into a glass shard grenade all over the inside of your oven and on you! Think you've gotten out of the woods by safely setting it on a cool counter? Youll walk back in to a sudden bang %26 a busted mess. Tried leaving it to cool down in the oven? Open the door %26 Boom. Or worse, go to pick it up %26 it snaps in half and down into your elements. These are my real experiences with this brand. Ive purchased this on a discount to use for cold pies only. Im going no where near an oven or any hot surface with this glass. Hopefully it holds together in the fridge because based on all of the damage i have witnessed, the glass seems to only have issues with grossly not being temp resistant with being heated to oven temps. Please be careful. Please use common sense. DONT PUT THE DISH IN THE OVEN! Dont microwave this brand of dish! Cold pies only. I buy the sailors brand only for a reason when i do my baking, this dish/ brand is only good for cream pies. In my case a banana cream with a nilla wafer crust. or sometimes if im not big on waisting a bunch of clean plates with my little one or husband, %26 i want them to eat out of the dish %26 the pie needs an actual crust, i will buy a deep dish store bought crust you can pre-bake in the tin foil and allow that to cool first, then i transfer it into this one once cold bc you cant really use a fork and a sharp pie cutter on cheap tin pie dishes on their own, i just prefer a serving dish, which is all this is. Just make sure that whatever cold pie you put in this dish no one is going to go behind you and try to microwave later... you've been warned parents! 2 stars bc its a beautiful cold pie dish, i just hope it holds together coming out of the fridge..

I was concerned after reading a bunch of reviews that this pie plate exploded unprompted.\n\nI made a chicken pot pie. I put refrigerated crust in the plate, then let it come to room temp while I made my filling. Then, I put hot filling in the pie plate and covered with a top crust. \n\nI put the pie directly into the 375F preheated oven. After 1.25 hours, I cracked the oven open, waited a few seconds, took it out, and put it on a dish towel on a wooden cutting board in my 67F kitchen. No explosion. \n\nIt's a deep dish pie plate with a nice ruffled rim. My husband says it's "cute". I'll keep it for now and update if it explodes.

Pleasantly surprised at the nice large size of these genuine "PYREX" pie plates! And they're on sale for a little over $5.00 each! If you're going to go through the utter AGONY of making a from-scratch pie (including the crust), it doesn't pay to make just one pie -- you've got to make two in order to justify all that floury mess, prep time and clean up worthwhile. Right? Right. Now you can have a pie all for yourself and the family can have the other one. Actually, I was so impressed by the size and price of these Pyrex pie pans that I am ordering two more.

These pie plates are the best ones I have found in many many years. They are a good 2"+ deep also. If you like a deep pie and not those little 1" deep pies then these are the plates for you. My mother had deep pie plates like these and it took me a long time to find a good brand plate to mimic hers. I've had mine for 3 years now and I absolutely love them. I own 4 right now and I plan on getting 4 more next week. Plus, how can you go wrong with Pyrex Brand @ $10 approx. for a set of 2. These are a must for the avid baker.

The extra, beautiful, durable edging around the glass pie dish is wonderful in beauty and usage. No juice overflows over the edge, no pan underneath needed while baking to set on, grab out with mitts is perfect. I set on a rack to cool completely. I made a cherry pie the day before for Thanksgiving with a happy face drawn on top crust for venting. When cooled, I placed pie in the refrigerator. More accolades for presentation due to that lovely plate.

Seems nice. Only 4 stars because the only pie I've made with it so far, the crust came out kind of fragile and hard to serve. Not sure if I screwed up or if glass doesn't work as well as metal for my recipes/techniques. Guess I'll try again someday and make sure.

1. They are Pyrex. I have a lot of Pyrex containers that I use for heating and storage,. I avoid using microwaveable containers for heating and used Pyrex instead.\n\n2. The pie dishes are thick and heavy which are of of good-quality.\n\n3. Their sizes are big enough that I am able to fill the dishes with my pumpkin pie recipe's fillings. In the past, I have a smaller pie dish and I have some left-over fillings.

I love this pie plate! It's rim is wider than most which is great for molding a pie crust edge. It cooks evenly and is attractive enough to serve a pie in it from oven to table. \n\nI love the extra space since it's 9.5"! I didn't worry about the pie filling overflowing before or after baking. \n\nThe value is great and its quality is excellent as are all things Pyrex!\n\nDefinitely would buy it again!

This is a great dish, especially for the price. It's large and fairly deep. With the higher sides it's perfect for apple pie with crumb topping, chocolate creme or meringue, or a dinner pot pie. The very top makes it perfect to get out of the oven and fridge without ruining your work. I'm thinking I should get a few more with the holidays coming for gifts. (Complete with goodies, of course!)

Future heirloom, the pie plate is clear glass with a slight aqua blue color. I love the oversized 9.5 inches and wide ruffle rim making it pretty and practical to pick up. People fight over these pie plates, refusing to return them from family potlucks, so buy extra. Seriously, my cousin's wife refused to give mine back. These nostalgic pie plates make you want to bake often.

This pie plate is a thicker very well made glass. \nI made a cheeseburger pie and forgot to spray it first, but the pie came out very nicely. \nI have arthritis in my hands and this pie pleate has a wider edge around it so that its much easier to hold even with oven mitts on.\nIts a nice thick glass. \nI like that its deep dish as well. \nA very good value for the price.

I used this for Thanksgiving to make my Crumb Apple Pie Cheesecake dish %26 absolutely loved it. The ridges helped me get a traditional homey crust %26 the overall dish looks nice. It has some weight to it, but a good amount considering it's a glass dish. I loved that it was transparent so I could see how it looks on the bottom and make sure it hadn't burnt my crust.

Great Pie Pan, does the trick. It's a little large, so far I have only made a Chicken Pot Pie with the pan with premade crusts, but everything came out great. I plan to use it for my holiday pies for sure!

It has pluses and minuses. It s easier to grab at any spot around the ri compared to the old ones which just had 2 handles, but it is wide and harder to handle and take up a lot of space when put away.

Awesome value %26 quality. The Pyrex name is tried and true. Awesome deal. MUST HAVE for any baker. Deeper well than other brands for more filling in pot pies %26 baked goods. Ruffled edge adds a to presentation. Feels more like a 10 inch because of capacity and the ruffled lip makes overall size closer to 11 1/2 inches should you require a carrier or cakebox.

These glass pans go into the oven to the table or the fridge. They also go into the microwave and to the table or fridge. They can be dropped on carpet, your lawn, or some tiles. On the other hand, dropping them on hardwood, vinyl flooring or your garage floor and you'll have to replace them. But you have to have one.

This is a good purchase if you're looking for a large pie plate. It works well for savory pot pies. Even my pumpkin pie filling doesn't fill it more than 2/3 way. The fluted edge is pretty. I like that it's transparent, so you can see the bottom crust while it's baking. It's also very inexpensive, and arrived quickly.

Not sure I liked the large rim around the pie dish. It was hard to stack with my other pie dishes, bur made it easy to grab anywhere when removing from the oven.

as described. cleans easily. deep dish suze. hold pumpkin recipe perfectly. i often make 1 1/2 recipes of chocolate or other pie fillings as makes thicker pie and this pan holds it perfectly. pretty to look at. dishwasher safe. pies, casseroles, corn bread, other desserts all work great in this pan. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Terrific pie plate. I have one already that I've had for years. I usually use frozen crusts because I am a horrible pie crust maker, but buying the pre-made unfrozen pie crust is a game changer. So I bought this pie plate, which is exactly like the one I already have, and my pies came out amazing!

I needed a second larger pie plate and this one is just right. When I received it, I realized that it is just like the one I had, didn't realize that because the quality is so good, and I thought I'd need to pay much more. Definitely less money than any on Amazon I found, but such good quality.

Item was not left at the door. It was left on the ground at the end of the handicap ramp. Thankful we got it before snow could cover it.

I grew up learning to bake pies using a Pyrex dish. Glad to see they have one with the fluted edges. Reminds me of memories in the kitchen with mom. Now I can continue making delicious pies and cheese cakes like she taught me. Great and reliable pie plate. Long lasting and high quality.

Odd size for a pie pan. Just a smidge too large to use premade pie crusts without rolling them out a bit bigger/thinner

I was satisfied with the pie dish that was my first time ever having a pie dish I made a chicken pot pie in it and it turned out pretty good I'm glad that I was able to see up under the bottom where I can see if the crust was brown but overall it's a good product for the price
