We love the fridge. It is roomy, attractive and easy to use. It is flexible enough to adjust the shelves in the door to allow for taller items, which don’t fit on any of the shelves. We did remove one of the door shelves so we had room for our taller items. \nThe chime that goes off when the doors are left open is helpful, although it can be a bit annoying when you are loading up after a shopping trip. \nThe LG ThnQ app is interesting, but not critical for getting the most from the fridge. However, it can tell you the temperature in the fridge and freezer, how many times you opened the door each day, and the energy usage of the unit, which is pretty interesting. You can set the light to be dimmer at night (you set the hours), and there is a Sabbath setting that allows the refrigerator to be used consistent with expectations for those whose faith requires limiting the use of electric appliances at certain times. If you have different time-of-day electricity rates, (we don’t) you can possibly adjust the settings to correspond to peak grid demands. \nThe only issue we have is that the ice maker can be kind-of noisy. This is the first time we’ve actually set up a fridge to make ice (we just made our own and never hooked up our previous units) so the strange noises coming from the fridge can be disconcerting. Of course, we could turn off the machine at night - we’ll see how we adjust to these new noises. Our 9-year-old grandson comes by and opens the doors to our fridge and says “This is a really nice refrigerator” whenever he comes over. \nOne thing you might want to be careful about is the top door hinges and the doors themselves, which are taller than the main fridge box. We measured carefully and the main box of the fridge fit nicely under our cabinet, but then the doors to the cabinet would not open because they hit the fridge hinges. To fix this, I took down the kitchen cabinet, cut the metal rail that supports it with a Dremmel tool and a hacksaw and raised the cabinet up a few inches and all was well, but you should be careful about that, because you might not want to go through the trouble of messing with the kitchen cabinet over your fridge. For us, it was worth it to get this nice refrigerator to fit in our space. I’ve included a photo to show this.

I'm comparing this model to the previous one I've owned (LFX31925ST). My previous model's compressor went out and the price to replace was almost as much as a new one so we had to upgrade - very disappointed in that given our previous model still looks in showroom condition. I'm disappointed to share that after comparing both models, LG has sacrificed functionality as a cost cutting measure. Being in the product development space for almost 15 years, function should never be sacrificed to achieve a set profit margin. There are other areas to leverage your scale to decrease material costs without the consumer being inconvenienced.
Pros:
-Very aesthetically pleasing. Looks great in the kitchen. Materials are better at resisting fingerprints.
-Overall internal space very comparable to my previous 30.7 model
-Continues to be priced well for the function you receive compared to the other models
Cons: (comparing to my 10 year old LFX31925ST)
-Noise a few decibels greater than previous model (enough to hear the difference in a quiet room - wont notice if tv's on or people talking.
-Previous model had LED's on side walls of fridge which gave a grander presence and lighted up fridge better
-Shelves have decreased in quality and function. Previous model had nice stainless steal accents on the front of the shelves and this model has basic white plastic. Previous top shelf has a feature to push back half the shelf (hide below )to allow for taller objects on second shelf. This model does not have it. You have the adjust/remove the whole shelf if you want to store taller bottles on the middle shelf.
-Previous model had a closed cover top door shelf, this one is open requiring you to purchase additional storage bins for smaller items such as ketchup packets, sauces, or butter.
-Previous model had door shelf separators that allowed for you to have larger bottles in the back and small water bottles in the front. This helped keep the refrigerator door objects from falling over and allowed for more bottled water storage.
-Previous model's water dispenser was much quieter. This one is very loud when filling ice or dispensing water.
-Previous model had a small storage slot on the inside of the freezer door that allowed for you to store small items such as ice cream, popsicles, etc. New model does not have that - not a huge loss, but a loss in functionality non-the-less.
-Previous model had 3 drawers in the freezer - this one only has 2. Again, not a huge issue, but the previous model did allow for a bit more customization and functionality that was eliminated.
-Previous model had 3 drawers in the refrigerator allowing for more customization, this one only has 2. Drawers feel a bit sloppy when using. Seems like there is a bit more play in the drawers than before.
To summarize - A decent at best refrigerator that will support your daily needs for a single individual or a family. Plenty of storage for your needs, however quality has decreased over the years. Will look great in your kitchen, but only time will tell if the quality of the Linear Compressor will be sufficient to last you many years to come.More

This fridge looks great and is economical (lower power usage, dimming lights, door open reminder, etc.), but it is lacking in some respects. First, the shelves are too close together. In my household we drink a lot of milk, and the shelves don't even fit a gallon of milk standing upright. Sure, you can move the shelf up or down one space, but that makes the other shelves unusable other than small things in the front (it makes it difficult to reach to the back if there were items back further). Second, there is no way to shut off the annoying "door open" alarm. If I'm filling the fridge from a full shopping trip, I need the doors open longer than 20 seconds to fill and organize the space. There should be an option to shut that alarm off and then turn it back on again after. Third, the right side door doesn't stay open. I've ensured the fridge is level, and the left door stays open fine, but the right side swings shut immediately after I stop holding it open. It makes it difficult to use the fridge. \n\nWith that said, there are some benefits to using this fridge. The connection to the app lets you know in real time the temperature of the fridge/freezer as well as if there is something going wrong with the fridge. And I like the dimming light feature for when it is dark in the house. The freezer has a super easy and gentle glide. It has a large bottom area in the freezer split into two sections. On top of that is a drawer that holds smaller items in the freezer as well as an ice chest for your made to go ice. The lighting in the freezer is bright and easy to see every angle to look for something down at the bottom of the freezer. Now for the fridge area. I adore the French doors. They have a magnetic closure that is slow so it doesn't slam. The lighting inside is florescent and so bright to cover every inch of the fridge. The doors both have three areas each for drinks, sauces, or whatever you would like. The shelves in the main area are large, wide, and spacious. There are two drawers side by side to use for produce or other items. I have one full of fruits and veggies and the other full of cheeses and deli meat. There is a third drawer that is thin and sleek underneath the other two drawers. I decided to turn that into a "snack" drawer for my children. The outside of the fridge does not look ginormous but the inside blows me away because there is so much space. \n\nThe only thing I wasn't a fan of was the shelves on the inside of the fridge part were close together. No milk jugs or coffee creamer would fit. So I had to readjust the shelves. The doors do not open wide enough to do that. So I went back to the instruction manual and could not find useful information to adjust the shelving. I ended up resorting to Google and read that you left the doors up and shift them to make them open wider. That helped a ton and I was able to adjust the inner shelves to better fit our milk. Other than that, I am extremely happy with this fridge/freezer. It has so much to offer. \n\nI have five little kids and a husband, things get messy sometimes but the fridge isn't full of fingerprints. They all adore the lighting and the French door style to see everything in the fridge. We are a house of seven and are very pleased with this product. I would recommend to smaller or larger families. There is enough space for everyone.

Overall liking the fridge so far. Considerations for consumers and opportunities for improvement for LG include: 1. Too much temperature variation throughout cavernous refrigerator section, confirmed using thermometers. Needs better distribution of cold air throughout 2. Cold air escapes fast - need to get in and get out. Discovered the need to set both refrigerator and freezer sections down as low they will go to maintain temperatures. 3. One of the refrigerator doors could use a more thoughtful storage compartment/space for small items. Prior fridge had a "junk drawer" in a door higher shelf that was perfect. 4. Ice compartment on the small size considering the overall size of this fridge. Also an annoying thing we have discovered is the right size of the ice storage compartment must get a little warmer, and the ice there tends melt a little then clump together and won't drop when distributing ice cubes from the external door. Requires going into the ice compartment door every few days if we think about it and break up the ice, which commonly causes us to scrape our hand knuckles on the tight space in the process.

Cooling defaults seem to be spot on. The capacity of this refrigerator is a good size for my wife and I. The ice maker make plenty of ice and the freezer is a good size for our purposes. This refrigerator runs very quiet except when the ice maker cycles, but it is no louder than expected. The inside is designed pretty well too, but it would be nice to be able to get more of the taller things in the doors like gallon milk or other tall things by adjusting the holders. Temperature is very good and the door display that lets you know your dual temps are appreciated. When you use the lower drawer freezer and close it, it will be pretty loud as it self closes because the ice bin rattles the cubes that makes most of the noise. I have gotten used to how loud closing the freezer can be, but you can consciously close it more intentionally and not let it slam, This isn't a deal breaker for me. I haven't changed the water filter yet so I can't comment on how this will go. The appearance of this refrigerator is very good and looks so good in our kitchen.

I had read reviews on this unit and saw complaints of the icemaker being very slow. However, I saw that there was an "Ice Plus" button that could be activated that would increase ice production for 24 hours. I figured these people just did not know about this feature. Well... Maybe I was wrong about that because this icemaker is EXTREMELY slow and the Ice Plus feature has minimal effect on production. It is a shame to make such a large purchase only to have to go out and purchase old fashioned ice trays that I empty into the ice bin. With four additional ice trays, I have plenty of ice. Bottom line, this ice maker cannot keep up with a family of three. The other problem is the lack of shelf adjustment (which was also in past reviews), but I simply removed the top shelf on the right side and can now store some taller items on the shelf instead of the door. The unit has a VERY large capacity which is due to having the water dispenser on the inside of the unit. However, the dispensed water could be colder.

We have had this refrigerator for a little over a month. The main area is very spacious, with plenty of door shelves. It has a full width deli tray that is very useful. The freezer has two pullout drawers and a large bucket that stores ice from the ice maker. \r\nI would have given 5 stars but the right door doesn't open wide enough to take out the internal shelves if you want to move them up or down. This seems to be caused by a defect on the door bracket. From reading reviews we are not the only people to have this problem. Home Depot sent someone out to take off the door so that we could move the internal shelves, then they put the door back on. We are happy where they are now, and I could take the door off in the future if we really wanted to move them again.

Lots of light for both the fridge and freezer. It quickly got to, and is holding, the right temperature. I am not as happy with the slide out drawers in the freezer. There is a lot of wasted space because of the drawers. It would be better if it had a shelf and a normal door much like a top freezer unit. I also had a hard time adjusting the shelves as the doors don't open wide enough to pull the shelves straight out to adjust them to a different level. But the fridge capacity is wonderful! I have so much more room for fresh foods now! Looks great.

Well, it was definitely a great run, but my 31 year old side by side refrigerator finally gave out just after the holidays. After much research, we decided on a new LG French door. I absolutely love the wide open space of the refrigerator, compared to the compartmental arrangement of a side by side, however I’m still getting used to the slide out freezer drawer. Organizing it takes a bit of thought. I have it filled to capacity, and I must be careful not to pile the food too high or the drawer will not open. Other than that, I like the sleek lines and the “touch less”stainless steel exterior. It wipes up easily with a microfiber cloth. Now if only I could get anther 31 years out of this one.

We initially chose this fridge to replace our fridge in the garage but realized afterwards that this fridge doesn't offer a Garage kit and will have issues with temps that we get in our garage. We have since moved it to our basement for additional storage. It is a nice clean fridge with well designed storage in the freezer (2 drawers), and also in the fridge, 3 adjustable shelves on each door, 3 shelves, and 2 drawers. I tested this before we used it to see how it held temp and it went to the temp settings and help their without much change. We are planning on finishing off the basement in the near future, so this will fit in well with it's included ice maker.

Only one complaint. Too little flexibility on how to arrange the shelves. Tall bottles and jars (milk, orange juice, wine, beer, some salad dressings, some condiments . . .) must be kept in the door. Either that, or at least one interior shelf must be devoted to only very short or flat items, and it would be very difficult to reach items located at the back of the short-stuff shelf; furthermore, it would likely be necessary to find some sort of third-party shelved-storage device (probably intended for use in a pantry) to make full use of the oversized tall-stuff shelf. So far, I am making do with just the door storage, but that is an ongoing challenge.

I purchased this refrigerator on August 12, 2024. The refrigerator is spacious, maintains temperature and has a lot of nice features. Three minor things, 1. The chilled water dispenser is only good for about one cup before the water is Luke warm. 2. Having one paddle for water/ice takes a little getting used too, not as convenient as having one for water and one for ice. 3. The doors are to loose when they swing open, I open the right side door next to a wall, if it’s not held while opening it will eventually cause damage to the wall. Overall I would strongly recommend

We had to set up both the freezer and fridge temps since we felt the factory setting was too low. We hardly hear it except when the ice drops into the tray. I seems to seal well and even has an alert if you leave open the door too long. I would have liked to see a little more light in the fridge area. The shelving seems to be space pretty well. Pretty happy with it so far. It's not as quiet as I had hoped since that was a major consideration, but it is much quieter than the 14 year old LG it replaced. It's supposed to have a linear compressor but it sure doesn't act like one in that it turns off completely when set temperature is reached and doesn't vary in speed in general, which is supposedly a chacteristic of a linear compressor. I like the double doors, however, it does decrease how much can be stored in the doors. The shelves have fewer adjustable holes in the back that im having trouble being able to put a jug of milk or wine bottle on a shelf. I ended up putting those items in the door but i had to completely remove one of the shelves for there to be room. The freezer seems to have more room than my old frig so that is a plus. The LG French Door refrigerator is a fantastic addition to my kitchen, with ample space and a thoughtfully designed layout that makes finding items easy. The bottom freezer allows me to store and grab frozen items without hassle. While some mention limited shelf adjustability, I find the shelves versatile enough to fit tall items with a little rearranging. Changing from our previous split shelf fridge to this one required some changes in how we organize items in the fridge. \r\n\r\nThe shape of the 'in-door' bins and their limited positions makes them a little less useful than the bins we were used to on our previous LG fridge. \r\n\r\nAdjusting the location of the movable shelves isn't intuitive and is also not well documented. We needed to find a You Tube video to discover how to do this (hence the 4 star rather than 5 star rating)

Good design as far as the refrigeration/freezer. But the door shelves are flawed. First of all, the spacing is awkward, but most of all, after awhile the plastic shelves loosen and fall off the door. When the last one did 3 days ago, an unopened wine bottle fell on my big toe - then shattered. Second broken shelf in six months. Plastic cover over the pull out snack tray is now cracked - don't know how that happened. Will the 3 yr protection play replace? Let you know.

Very glad we chose counter depth as regular depth would have been obtrusive. Appearance, lighting, and function are excellent. Dual icemakers are very handy. Price was competitive with a great rep for reliability. Check out August Consumer Reports.\r\nWe don't like the design of the wide Glide N' Serve drawer at the bottom of refrigerator compartment as access requires opening both doors.\r\nWi-Fi is an unexpected bonus, but was tricky to set up.

It a relief to get a refrigerator that works great. My last LG fridge quit cooling in the freezer zone after 9 years. What happened to the good old Kenmore brand which lasted over 20 years.\r\nThis Lg model is a basic type. It does not have handles for the inside drawers which I find are harder to open to get your fridge items out. Overall, it seems like a good fridge which I hope will last, fingers crossed, at least 10 years.

Had this for a week, generally good but some quirks. Likes: spacious fridge and freezer, flexible shelving. Quibbles: loud buzz/rattle after 1.5 days, but mostly disappeared by day 5 (HD will check it out this weekend); lighting is in front so deep parts of fridge are very dark; doors need 4-5 inches on each side to open completely, so not ideal for going next to a wall. Will update after a month or two.

Overall I like the refrigerator, but there's a 'banging' noise periodically that can take several minutes to get rid of. I had an LG repair person out, said if I wanted the compressor replaced he could do that but he'd have to order it, and by 'leveling' the from legs, that should take care of it. But it didn't. Not sure how to get soemone out here again or if it would do any good. But it looks good.

We were upgrading from a standard traditional, no bells or whistles, fridge and boy does this feel like an upgrade! The fridge itself is not much bigger than our old unit in the amount of room it takes up, but the inside seems so much larger. We have tons of space. Our old fridge looked crammed and packed, when we moved our items over to this fridge it looks bare! The ice machine is another story, it makes cubed Ice. Actual cubes, not those elongated ice cubes. There’s even a function to put ice making into overdrive, we tried it out when we first started the fridge to test it out— can’t imagine the amount of ice it would make after the fridge is fully functioning for over 24 hours. This thing makes soooo much ice, it’s incredible. The fridge didn’t even take a full 12 hours to get to the set temperatures. I’m amazed at the option to connect to the LG app. When connected, it tells you when your door has been open for too long. You can change the temp and the ice amount from the app. And a huge bonus, if something were to go wrong with your fridge, the app will tell you! The app offers smart diagnosis. It also tells you how much you have left on your water filter, so you never will be left scattering to order one last minute. This is honestly amazing, it feels like such a luxurious item. Couldn’t be more happy with it.

This is everything we took out of our old fridge, which was completely jam packed. Seeing it all in here really gives you an idea just how massive this fridge is! The layout is incredibly well thought out. The door shelves have space for pop or beer tins which is so much easier than just stacking on main shelves. All of the shelves and crisper drawers are see through, combined with the led lighting making everything visible and accessible at a glance. It also runs very quietly. Even the delivery and installation were impressive. It arrived well packed and LG used clever striped tape so you could easily see what needed to be peeled off. My husband particularly loved that the power cord comes out of the top of the unit- it will never snag when you are pushing the fridge back in its spot. This is pretty much the same as my 16 year old LG that failed A little smaller. It was the only one that would fit in the space I had. So far it works fine. I would have preferred one that had the features that my old one I oculd not ind one that would fit. I chose Lowes and the LG because they could deliver it the next day, The other companies had 3 to 8 day delivery.

Price was good. Delivery guys were awesome. Disappointed that the maximum temperature in freezer is 4 as that's just too cold for our needs and limits our ability to save energy. Similarly, max for refrigerator is only 43. Great to be able to stand up to get at everything we use and see it all clearly. Lots of opportunities for organizing.
