For some reason I had the idea they were smaller. About the same size as a standard wall plate. Ends up I needed the room for all the cables anyway. Straight forward and easy to install. I used the provided template but decided to just put one pushpin in the corner, used my level to line up the template and then stuck a pushpin in each corner. Removed them and used a straight edge to go from point to point. Cut out and install.

Works great for my installation of a flat screen TV. Installed these behind the TV and the cabinet below it to allow all the wiring needed to connect the TV and keep all the wiring hidden inside the wall.

My company has been using these for a very long time. Eliminates the extra wall plate connection directly behind the equipment. Be sure to order the cables extra long especially if your wall mount articulates.

I paired the wall plate with the wall insert to hide TV power and HDMI cables. The wall plate looks as expected and installs quick and easy into the wall insert. This combo is a cheap and easy way to hide any cables/wires.

Gravity works against you with one side of the mounting wings. It took a few tries but I was eventually able to both wings up and holding against the drywall. A spring to push up the wings would make installation much easier.

Idea is great. Quality is fair. One of the wings fell off inside wall during installation. Don't know why but upsetting because now plate doesn't sit flush to wall.

I was able to use this for my unique application. I needed to trim a few sides of it because of where I positioned the box (all me). but I was impressed by how sturdy this was when I trimmed a vertical slice off with my chop saw. Great!!

The cable plate is very cheaply made. I purchased 4 and 2 were broken in the box. The others broke while attempting to install them. It's worth the money to invest in a better quality cable plate.
