Bought this Kenwood DMX9708S to replace a dated Pioneer AVIC-8000NEX. First off, finally wireless CarPlay! And it's also quick to connect. I usually auto-start my vehicle and my phone will automatically connect when I'm near the car (I have to manually connect with the Pioneer AVIC-W8600NEX that's currently on my other vehicle). Having a smaller depth radio makes it easier to put back in the already small center console. The camera button is a great feature so I no longer need to wire a relay/switch to switch between front/rear camera or long press to activate. The UI feels snappy. While in CarPlay, I can hit the menu button and it will show a drop down fairly quickly to some settings/options without needing to go back to Kenwood's home screen.Not having navigation anymore isn't so bad since I have CarPlay and it's installed in a car that won't need it (i.e. offroading/off grid). And even though the screen isn't "HD" the screen is so small that it doesn't matter. One thing for sure though, whenever shopping for a DD, make sure it has a capacitive touchscreen. Kenwood is a great brand to go with just the onboard features, even better if paired with a Maestro RR, my car is a 2007 G35 that unfortunately can't utilize it for the extra features, but my 2019 4Runner could definitely benefit from it and I may replace the more expensive Pioneer for this Kenwood model.
