I finally decided to move on from my 15+ year old Dewalt 18V XRP tools which I've used for a variety of DIY projects and have served me well. Got this Atomic drill/impact combo set a few weeks ago and I think it's a great value for $149. I really like how light the tools are compared to the XRP tools and they have great power as well. I don't think these are as rugged as the XRP's, but for my DIY needs they are fine. Although the batteries are listed as 1.3Ah, they are in fact 1.5Ah. I just wish the batteries that came with the set were a bit higher Ah and had the LED gauge on them. My local hardware store had a 2-pack of Dewalt 2.0Ah batteries on sale for $59 with the LED gauge, so I picked those up. My only complaint with this set is the "contractor bag" that it came with is useless. The photo on the Home Depot site shows a much larger and sturdier looking bag, but as you can see by the attached photo, the bag that comes with the kit is tiny. Maybe it's supposed to be a lunch bag. I ended up re-purposing the hard drill case from my old XRP drill and I'm able to fit the Atomic drill and impact driver in it along with some accessories. Overall a great value, however, the photo from HD should be updated to show the bag that actually comes with this kit!

I used to work on cars for over 13 years. I had an ASE certification in numerous automotive specialties, and owned all Snap-On tools. I have long since changed careers, but needed a set of tools up north at my property for general repairs and maintenance. I searched for a long time before settling on this set, and am I ever impressed! The quality and feel remind me of my Snap-On sockets and wrenches. I love the feel and precision of the ratchets. Very complete set for the price. I actually think this is priced better than some of the off-brand sets out there. One reviewer said that it was missing the 14 & 15 mm deep sockets, which is true. But those are not needed as much in a deep size, and it has the short sockets, which work for what I have needed them for, so it's not an issue.\n\nLook no further if you need a nice complete and very high quality set. Get yourself some drill bits, a few hand tools, and you are all set!\n\nAlso, I love the NO HASSLE LIFETIME WARRANTY! Can't beat it!

Overall impressed with the dewalt 20v combo driver and drill kit. The first project I used them on was for building a shed and worked flawlessly. The power of the driver sinks screws quickly and able to adjust the driver low and high speed. The drill was used to go though steel roofing and did with ease. I did however break a dewalt bit, but that's normal. The light feature is an added bonus. Quality seems sturdy and built well. The bag is a sturdy bag, wish it came with a tray like others do. There size is the driver and drill fits comfortably in my hand, however did see that they have an even smaller driver in which I have not tried out yet, but looks great. Overall am a fan of Dewalt and will be a future customer. Would definitely recommend!

This DeWalt 20 volt Max battery pack is really great for the "big jobs". This 5 amp hour (ah) batteru really works well in my Circular Saw and Impact Driver for heavy duty use...cutting framing lumber and plywood and installing lag bolts. It hold up to a good 1/2 day of fairly heavy use in these tools. It has a nice charge indicator light to let you know the charge left. I usually just charge it up during lunch time and then work the rest of the day. It has a number of other features like "no memory and virtually no self discharge". It's very light weight compared to my old 18 volt batteries at 1.4 lbs. It also comes with a 3 year FREE service contract. This is a great battery for the PRO and serious DIYer.

I needed an upgrade to the DeWalt 20volt system and this is a great start. These compact drivers fit in a lot of places the old drives won’t. They are also lighter in weight and the batteries are smaller so the tools are easier to work with on long jobs and in difficult situations. Because they are the part of the new 20 Volt system, I can also use the FLEXVOLT 20-Volt/60-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion batteries too. \r\nThe tools have plenty of power and good run time with the original batteries.

Great tool to have. It is light weight, well balanced and cuts through thick wood with great ease. What makes it especially easy is that the saw is cordless. No need to look for an outlet, just saw wherever you need it. This tool came without a battery, but you anyway want two batteries at least to make sure you always have a spare. There is nothing more annoying than having to wait for a battery to charge halfway through project. All and all I am happy with the purchase.

These XR tools are great, and if you need the extra capacity, then this is the battery for you. I got this one to use in my hedge clipper since it is the recommended battery for that tool. Capacity is great, I can trim every shrub in my yard (about 30) on one charge and still have plenty left. I especially like the fuel gauge on the battery so I can instantly tell the charge state before I start working. I would recommend this battery highly.

I bought my drill about 2 yrs ago, it came with 2 or 3 AH batteries. They do last very well. I charged this 5 Ah battery and put it to the test drilling 3/8" holes in 1/4" metal brackets i had made for a boat project. The battery lasted noticeably longer than my other batteries before losing power. I charge it backup with the same charger used for the other batteries. Wish i have a pair of these!

I have had a mix of brands I have been using for my corded and cordless tools, and decided to standardize on the one which has always performed well, even with age. This Dewalt set replaced a Hitachi set i had and I am already super pleased with the performance. More power, nice compact size and the control of the trigger is definitely a plus. I work as a union carpenter and this dewalt drill combo is the go to set to use. Each worker has a pair and they are great! We perform all aspects of carpentry from millwork install to framing and this drill set has never let me down. The battery life is great and they charge fast. I bought this set for my son. The brushless versions are cooler and last longer. The driver seems to put screws in faster. Haven’t really used the drill yet. I’m fine with my DCF885B but the one I bought him initially got very hot and burned through batteries quickly so I returned it and bought this set. He’s happy so far.

The features that stand out for the DeWalt 20v cordless circular saw, lightweight, easy to maneuver. The sidewinder feature gives better view point for more accurate cut. easily apply guide for ripping. Doesn’t bind as often due to good cutting power. I have had it a little over two months and would recommend.

I am happy with this purchase. I like that the DCF850 is slimmer since I have made this set my automotive drill set. The sale price, 5.0 Ah battery, 2.0 Ah battery, and the free tool upgrade (1/2 inch impact wrench) made it an easy choice for me. Most of my tools are Dewalt, so I can interchange batteries.

My dad bought this combo set in high school and these drills are still going strong. I've used other name brand drills and nothing has really topped Dewalt cordless products. Long-lasting, tough, gets the job done well. You can't go wrong with Dewalt. Especially a good hammer drill and impact drill.

Picked up the Atomic drill/driver combo as an extra set to keep in my tool box (and not have to keep packing up my other set). The DCF850 is now my go to driver. Super lightweight and compact. Plenty powerful. I haven't run into an application where it wasn't enough tool for the job. Very impressed.
