I've got 2 of them, love the conversion. These are narrow enough to fit 2 where 1 conventional chest freezer was. We keep lots of beef but can use for beer after 1 is empty. :)

I really love that this can be either a refrigerator or a freezer depending on your setting. I was looking for a counter depth refrigerator for my kitchen and discovered these. I'm doing a kitchen remodel so I bought two because I can make room for them in my configuration. I have one set to refrigerator and one set to freezer. This has been working very well, the storage is excellent and without a lot of extra stuff in the way like a bulky ice maker or water dispenser. Also buying both was cheaper than buying most normal refrigerators. I bought the medium and the large sizes. It's worth knowing that on the large one you still get four shelves with two drawers. Obviously there's more space for each shelf but they don't add a fifth. This review is for the large which I am using as a freezer. Since there are no dividers aside from the bottom drawers I bought trees to organize my stuff. See picture. The shelves themselves are 17 in deep by 26 in wide. I had the hardest time finding that when I was buying online so I figured I'd pass this on. The only slightly annoying thing is the fridge beeps every time you open it, I'd imagine this is useful if you had kids or something. It also beeps over and over if you leave it open too long. This is annoying when you have to clean it but a good reminder if it didn't close all the way. They two new stand up freeze are really cool. They are nice and big and have an enormous amount of space inside. I was curious how I would take advantage of this interior storage and was super excited to find out that milk crates easily fit on all of the shelves. Like old plastic milk crates. I was able to use up all the vertical space or each of the shelves. As a small regenerative grass-based meat farmer, I was able to store over 1000lb lbs of fresh pastured chicken in two of these freezers. There is also room to spare, like an open shelf and two open drawers. So I was also super surprised to have extra room. I am very happy with the purchase. The little LED touch screen goes to sleep, but the is a small blue light that I can see, easily by glancing at the freezers, as I walk by them in the garage, easily checked and making sure they have power. Also, I know it is not recommended to have two freezers plugged into the same outlet, much less the same circuit, much less GFCI outlets. Unfortunately, I have done all three, have both freezers plugged into the same GFCI outlet, and no problem. Freezers are super cold and have not tripped any breakers. One last thing I love about these freezers, the also function perfectly as a refrigerator. You can choose any temperature you want from -14 (negative fourteen) to 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Pretty cool. This is my 2nd Insignia freezer and I am completely in love. We bought this one because our other smaller one died (or so we thought). There was actually a problem with our outlet and our original 6 year old Insignia still lives! We opted to keep it because we were going to get a bigger one eventually anyway. The design is very good. The shelves are very substantial and I do not see any bowing even with a large weight capacity. We put in a freezer thermometer to alert if there is an issue and keep track of the temperature. It really does keep it at the set temperature. You can see it slightly change in temperature when stocking it just by 3 or 4 degrees. My only dislike is how hard I have to pull to open the door but its definitely secure. The delivery team was amazing too. They followed instructions perfectly, as we have a special needs dog who is terrified of delivery drivers. They also were the ones to figure out that there was a problem with the outlet and unloaded my old fridge since it still worked. Freezers are hard to get these days that are either sold-out or not within 250 miles from where I live. I had been trying to buy one for over 2 months. I kept checking and checking Bestbuy for one. So far this freezer is AMAZING! It is so much bigger than I expected, but I am glad it is large. I got it so that I could do a bunch of meal prep before the spring semester started since I work full time and go to school. I ordered at the right time it seems, my freezer in my refrigerator was not keeping ice cream solid and now all my Ben & Jerry's is safe and sound and solid for when I Need it while researching those last minute papers, lol! Others have noted the security of the door and it does take effort to open it, but nothing that seems excessive to me. This refrigerator/Freezer is Awesome!! It comes with so much space. I love the front digital display. Making it easy and functional for the user! I also love the bright interior light. This is and outstanding upgrade from an original chest freezer! No more bending and having to take everything out to get what you’re looking for! I love the many adjustable shelves it comes with and the bottom pull out drawer! The stainless steel version adds so much class and elegancy to my kitchen! So far this refrigerator/freezer has worked well in both settings. Some people have mentioned issues with the refrigerator temperature varying a lot. While the temperature does vary as high as 44 degrees (when the setting is a 36 degrees), it only reaches this range for about an hour a day during the auto defrost cycle. Otherwise the temperature is very stable (usually +/- 2 degrees). Please note - the refrigerator is located in a garage environment that ranges from 70-85 degrees. Emptied the contents of a full-to-the-brim 7cu chest freezer into this new 13cu upright and let it settle overnight. The temperature delta is excellent, swinging between 0.2 and -0.6 degF. As far as energy usage I am seeing about 77W for 10 minutes, and then off for 15 minutes. The unit is in the garage where the temperature fluctuates between 60-70 degF during my short test. These fridge/ freezer’s are fantastic. This is the second one I have bought. We have one setup as a freezer and the other as a fridge in our garage. They are great especially for a freezer cause you don’t have to hurt yourself trying to get something out of the bottom. Great secondary unit - why buy one when you buy two at twice the price? It has worked out great to have a full size freezer and matching refrigerator to supplement our smaller unit in the kitchen.
