I am a family member of an LG employee and I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed in this post are personal and should not be attributed to LG. I have now used the washer for about a week and found it to be great dryer. \n\nGreat looking design. Similar to the paired washer, having the dial is a great plus as I don’t like just having the LCD. Starting the dryer takes little longer than expected. When you press the power button and the start button, it doesn’t start instantly There is slight lag, but it does help prevent accidentally pressing the start button. There is quick dry cycle (30min) which is very helpful when in a hurry. It would be nice to be able to adjust the dryig time for the quick dry. The clothes comes out dry and fluffy. I wasn't able to adjust the drying temperature under Normal cycle. Hopefully they can add this feature through ThinQ UP. I had it connected to ThinQ app and it was cool to be able to receive the alerts. I setup my LG TV to get the laundry alerts as well which is super convenient. It would be good to have new feature to turn on the Wrinkle care after I started the dryer since I always forget to turn it on. I like the steam feature to fluff my jackets and clothes that do not need to be washed. The best part is how quite the dryer is. You can barely hear any noise and it has large capacity. I was able to dry heavy loads without any problems. I do like that ThinQ app provides energy usage information which is helpful to manage how much electricity I’m using. As for the tub light, it was under the settings option same as the washer. Hopefully they can update this feature with ThinQ UP.

A large capacity dryer that performs incredibly well. I tried it in three situations (normal, bedding and steam). It performed remarkably well in every situation. The normal selection used built in intelligence to sense and adjust drying accordingly. In this mode the heat at the exhaust changed during the cycle starting relatively cool then built up to full heat and cool down at the end. The clothes came out perfect. Next I tried the bedding cycle and loaded it with queen size sheets followed by a comforter. There is plenty of room and once again the bedding came out nice and dry but not overly dry. Finally, I tested the steam cycle to remove wrinkles. I have had that cycle on other dryers and like it so much it is a must-have on any replacement. I left a shirt crumpled up in my luggage for a few days and also tried it on a T-shirt that I just bought from the store and had the typical fold lines throughout. The dryer performed really well, all the wrinkles came out and the items were perfectly dry. The dryer has more than enough different selections for every possible scenario. It does offer customized settings, but I'm not interested in that, I want to be able to quickly select a factory setting which meets my needs and this dryer has more than enough to choose from. Also, there are all kinds of bells and whistles such as wifi and the internet, etc. Once again, I haven't made use of any of that, I just want a dryer that performs really well. This one does that. The dryer itself is beautiful, simple lines and nice colors for the menu items and in the drum itself. Overall, a great dryer that I'm completely satisfied with.

It is a nice size dryer; not too big nor too small. I knew it didn't have an interior light and was willing to forego that feature to get a dryer like my previous LG dryer. The lint trap is a thing though. It pulls lint off clothes nicely, but the trap is always over flowing and stuck to the bottom of the door when opening. I clean the lint filter after every load, and sometimes in the middle of the load contemplating that it will be over flowing. \nThe end of cycle signal chimes before the Wrinkle Guard kicks in. I guess that makes sense, but it is different than previous models of same dryer. \nI did find the Energy Saver, default setting on Normal Dry, is a big flop: it takes longer and my clothes will not be dry. I would not want that on a future dryer.\nOther than that, it is very quiet and, overall, I like it a lot. I wanted it to be more like my LG that I had for the last 16 years, but it's not even close. However, I would buy it again if I still couldn't find one close to the one previously mentioned.

I'm very please with the purchase of this LG electric dryer along with the LG washer I got as a set that offers the stackable space saving placement flexibility. The efficiency, quietness and performance of these units are impressive, complimented by the remote access through the LG ThinQ app which not only allows to check, in time on load status, but also gives access to diagnosis of the operational conditions of them.\r\nI've noticed a few negative reviews of the unit. This most likely can be consequential of user errors. Many are concerned with loads not being fully dry. This can be caused by mixing disproportional loads, not equivalent in size and or overloading, as bulky items tent to remain on the peripheral area of the drum, while smaller items tend to remain in the center and away from the damp sensor. The drum fins, can only do so much to keep garments out of the vortex. I've been using my LG washer and dryer set daily with no problems at all, in fact every piece of garment comes out dry, static free and soft. The lint trap design is a big plus as I've noticed no lint concentration around the exhaust shoot area nor around the lint trap housing.\r\nIt all boils down on how the units have been initially installed, as properly leveling of the appliances contribute to the smooth operation and the longevity of them.

It was a bit confusing to set up initially with the cords, I had to buy my own plug and wire it myself. Its a pretty quiet dryer and it will send a notification to your phone letting you know its done and when to clean the lint trap. I have dried several loads ranging from small to large and even dryed my comforters and quilts in it. Each time it has produced dry clothes. I have tested several of the functions on it and each preformed well, I havent had any issues with damp clothes or the need to rerun the load.

Connected to wi-fi - just haven't used that yet. Two small issues - (1) our lint sensor is crazy sensitive. Just had the ducts cleaned yet it constantly gives us a warning that our ducts are almost blocked. (2) the vent in the back started rusting within 3 months!!! Dryer vents can rust but not usually this fast. Trying to stay on top of that but it's a bit of a bummer for such an expensive item. They should fix this!

Great dryer replacing my very similar LG dryer. One star was deducted because with the energy save mode engaged drying time is extended. The reason is that the first 40 minuets in this mode are air dry only. The machine is set by default to the energy saver mode. The quick solution it to use the timer dry mode but that defeats the use of other useful modes. I've try to defeat this mode but despite youtube videos and others I have not been able to do accomplish this. LG can you help?

Great machine. Very Happy. Lent trap is easy to clean. Steam feature is/can be absolutely amazing. NOTICE: YES, like other comments, if you have heavier loads or mixed loads or mixed loads with heavier items the sensor dry may not fully dry the load and certain items may need to be procced through additional, "Time-Dry" cycle. Only complaint is that the "Download" cycles are about 99% useless. There needs to be a 'Custom' cycle you can build in the App to suit. Also, the App works well.

Bought this dryer machine (and companion washer) 3 weeks ago. They replaced a competitor's set that was 21 years old, hopefully these will last that long. This pair was one level up from what we wanted, but that pair was out of stock. My 73 year old machine operator is a bit overwhelmed at the degrees of flexibility in the operations but pleased with what we have discovered/used to date. Both units came with a standard 'owner's manual' but 'additional operation information' had to be chased down online. That information is fundamental to various modes and functions that it should be supplied on a laminated card. AI operation is the most significant upgrade by purchasing higher level models - results so far are impressive. Opted for the pedestal base, storage area doesn't allow for sufficient height to get various cleaners etc in. May store my socks in there.

This a great dryer, but the preset cycles do not work well. When I use any of the preset dryer cycles, my laundry is often still wet once the cycle ends. I have found that it is easier to just do a timed dry rather than the cycles. It's a little frustrating to pay for all of these features, but then never use them. But overall the dryer works really well!

We installed this LG electric dryer as part of a stacked washer and dryer setup in a tight laundry closet, and it has been a great fit. The capacity is excellent and gives us plenty of room for normal loads without needing a larger footprint.\n\nThe Sensor Dry and moisture detection have worked really well so far. The dryer adjusts based on the moisture level of the clothes, which helps with drying time and keeps us from unnecessarily running longer cycles. That should also help with energy consumption compared with constantly running timed cycles.\n\nThe lint filter is easy to access and clean, and I haven’t noticed any unusual lint accumulation outside of the filter area.\n\nOverall, I’m very happy with the purchase. It dries well, looks great in Graphite Steel, and was an excellent choice for maximizing our limited laundry space.

I was quite surprised as I unpacked this dryer as to how clean looking it is & the quality of the finish. Maybe I'm not used to seeing brand new appliances these days, but I said to myself, this is actually a beautiful dryer. I imagined if I lived in a loft like studio where it, along with a matching washer, would be out in the open would be very impressive. As an added bonus, it does dry clothes! I wondered why I would need WiFi connectivity with an appliance, but the fact that I can check the status of the dryer, with my phone, does save me trips down to the laundry room. Since I spend most of my time on the second floor of my house, not having to go down and up two flights just to check on a load in the dryer is a fantastic benefit. Lastly, the 'Sensor Dry' feature will save energy, meaning saving me money!

Great look, quiet, easy setup minus the fact I didn’t realize the plug is based on age of the house/wiring - so this delayed my setup. I also didn’t put 5 star because I can’t figure out how to balance out the legs as they are not the same as the washer and the tool did not work.
