After living with the Polk Legend 800, they make me wonder about speakers that do not have stereo dimensional array technology interaural crosstalk is very real. Had a marantz prior to this receiver, and after borrowing a friend's onkyo, I decided to give this receiver a chance rather than going for the new flagship marantz. Nothing against their brand, but I am very satisfied and happy I decided to go with the onkyo instead, and at almost half the price!<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nThe power output on this receiver is very impressive, where I personally believe 90% of users would not feel the need for external amps. <br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nI have not had any qc or software issues after watching over 100 movies and using for many nights as just a 2 channel stereo Bluetooth setup (using the pure audio mode which I highly recommend.)<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nI think any buyer will be very impressed with how good this receiver is, especially for its price point. <br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nMy current setup is a 7.4.4 (this receiver only has 2 sub outs, but I daisy chained 2 more)<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nWorks flawlessly with Sony and LG tv, Playstation, and Panasonic 4k players. Extremely heppy with this receiver. I haven't had a single issue with it after about 9 months of decent use. It accompanied a new set of Klipsch speakers, and I think it's so dang cool there's integration between the receiver and the specific type of Klipsch speakers I have. This thing has a crap ton of simply pure POWER to every speaker which my still relevant Yamaha couldn't handle - actually no Yamaha could handle what I wanted to do with the high watts /channel. I love how it barely heats up with whatever I'm doing: Xbox Series X at 120fps, streaming local 4K UHD movies, or using it as a WiFi network/host to play Spotify from (wish Spotify had better quality just in general) - but I do have a top-mounted fan for insurance. The TX-RZ70 is an audiophile quality receiver with many high-quality features and capabilities. From eleven powerful channels of amplification, overall power, miniscule noise levels, high quality pre-amp that can be selectively enhanced with one or more even better quality pre-amps or amplifiers, to the ability to easily integrate with many external systems--you will not be disappointed in the sound quality, power, integration, flexibility and overall capabilities of the TX-RZ70. I cannot count how many times I saw reviews of competing receivers and double-checked... did the Onkyo have this feature? That feature? Yes and often better has been the most frequent and re-assuring answer. It's a great, flexible receiver at a great price, and a fine backbone for any quality audio/visual system.

All the surround sound setting was also sure bliss for watching movies. 7.1.4 speaker setup with the four height speakers really makes you feel like your at a iMax theater.

Before I express my thoughts on the RZ70 allow me to give you some context. I am in the market for a flagship AVR and I want to be sure I get what I'm paying for. I have tested the Sony AZ5000 and 7000, Denon 4800, marantz cinema 50 , Yamaha A8A and of course the RZ70. I can tell you with full confidence that the Onkyo impressed the hell out of me. It's more dynamic and punchy without being bright or dull. I have a small room and always had boomy bass but the Onkyo shines with tight bass and clarity. The included Dirac is a game changer. You can tweak the sound accordingly to your taste. You will not regret buying this. It truly is the best AVR I've heard. It's not laid back like the Marantz and is much more enjoyable for movies. Only had this for a couple of weeks. I am more into 2 channel music until now. I am running a tube preamp/dac into this. With the multiple programs you can choose how you want to listen. You could do that on my old AVR however it didn't sound nearly this good. I'm actually considering selling my McIntosh MA6600 now. This receiver has lots of options. I started streaming Tidal (in the Onkyo app) through it. I have a designated laptop with music hooked up to it. My speakers put out plenty of bass but it is nice having my JBL subwoofer running the low end of things. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. I did get a great deal on it also.

This is the best 7.2.4 AV-Receiver currently on the market! Phantastic sound and a big thumbs up for staying with THX listening modes! My personal tip for the next generation AV-receiver: get rid of analogue video outputs. Nobody who buys a high end receiver needs them anymore. It´s just an unnecessary source of electrical signal interference. Instead, integrate two pairs of symmetrical analogue stereo audio XLR inputs, in order to be able to connect high end UHD-BD player and media player stereo audio outputs.

OK I've had the receiver for about two weeks now, and I am very pleased with it to this point very good sound lots of options and very good separation. Also I had ordered back in April an az 5000es Sony which I was happy with up until the morning that it malfunction and shut itself down, I called Crutchfield, and as always returning, it was no trouble that's why I still do business with them and they got me the new stereo shipped right away oh and by the way, the remote for Sony was horrible

I've had this for a few months now as part of my home theater and music only listening. Using Dirac Live with the optional DLBC has made subwoofer integration flawless. I use separate amplifiers for the front speakers, to avoid running long speaker cables because the equipment is in the back of the room. Therfore the Pre-outs are invaluable. There are so many audio modes available, many configurations can be tried. I'm runnning with 7.2.4 and it is amazing.

Greetings everyone. I had a Yamaha RX-A2060 that I loved, but it broke, now I bought the Onkyo TX-RZ70 wow I love it!!!! And I'm still learning with the receiver, the first calibration with Dirac completely eliminated the bass, but I looked for a video on YouTube and managed to tweak it pretty well and I still have a lot to play with the Onkyo. I downloaded some Harman target curves and I need to apply it to see how it goes lol.

I had my sights set on a Denon for a long time, then I came across the Onkyo RZ70, saw the reviews from the web and immediately purchased. I do not regret this one bit. Does awesome with my 5.1.2 setup and still has room to grow. Wife loves it because it has her Pandora in it. Dirac is definitely a nice touch too. I've been living with the RZ70 for 10 months. After two decades of Denon receivers I was worried about switching to another brand. The value Onkyo offers and the many praiseworthy reviews of the TX line were hard to overlook. The inclusion of Dirac is the icing on the cake. Makes me smile everyday.

I recently acquired the RZ-70 to upgrade my 7.1.2 setup from the NR7100 to 7.1.4. I was surprised by both the new configuration and the sound fidelity of the RZ-70, which truly brings the sound to life. The RZ-70 is a beast, in the best sense of the word.

Reminds me of the original Onkyo's but with the updated menu UI makes set up easy. Dirac built in is accurate and produces excellent sound with the current speaker setup I have. I have not had any issues with the Onkyo and its performed very well.

Upgraded my AVR from a Onkyo TX-NR6100 and have been blown away by the sound clarity I get with the new Onkyo. It was very easy to set up and the included DIRAC Live has been tremendous.

While the sound field was impressive, the Sony had too many quality issues. The unit kept making noises when switching inputs and bizarrely struggled with eARC on my Sony TV. I bought the Onkyo RZ-70, wow, I love it! I had the Yamaha 2060 and it was wonderful, but the RZ-70 is something else entirely. However, if Onkyo doesn't release the necessary updates, it's really bad. All the other companies have already updated their ART drivers, but Onkyo hasn't! When will they? 5 stars for everything except the updates.
