Follow the Instructions CLOSELY

The instructions are right. PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION: 1. The taller door fronts have three pairs of holes drilled - use the holes CLOSEST to the label. 2. The round L-shape brackets that mount onto the drawer FRONTS have three holes to choose from. 3. The drawer slide brackets have two rows of mounting holes… The holes that you use for the L-shape brackets on the drawer FRONTS and the drawer SLIDES will change depending if the drawer is a top/middle drawer, bottom drawer, or a “hidden” drawer. \n\nL-shape brackets on the drawer fronts: hidden drawer, top visible drawer and middle drawer - ONE screw on EACH side of the round part. Bottom Drawer - BOTH screws on the ONE side of the round part. \n\nSlide brackets: top hidden drawer - height 21 and screws BOTTOM row 2 and 2. Top visible drawer - height 17 and screws BOTTOM row 3 and 3, 1. The middle drawer - height 9 with screws BOTTOM 3 and 3, 1. The lowest drawer - height 2, and screws TOP 3 and 3, 1. I had it built in just a couple hours.

I bought the SEKTION/MAXIMERA base cabinet w/3 fronts/4 drawers, white/Sinarp brown on June 22, 2024. It was all going smoothly until we ran into an issue. \n\nWe understood that the position of the drawer front L-shaped brackets needed to be in a certain position depending on if it was a bottom drawer or one of the upper drawers and that the sticker needed to be on the same side as the brackets. We checked multiple reddit posts and youtube and we were doing it all correctly, but the white plastic tab was too close and would not let the door latch into place.\n\nAfter about 3hrs of trying to make it work, we called it a night. I decided the next day to flip the drawer and put the sticker on the other side and guess what, it worked. If the instructions are right, someone at the factory has placed all the stickers on the wrong side. \n\nTLDR: Sticker on the drawer front of the SEKTION / MAXIMERA base cabinet w/3 fronts/4 drawers, white/Sinarp brown, 36x24x30 is on the wrong side .

I spent a weekend building...

I spent a weekend building all the cabinets for my new kitchen (total of 12) and this is the only one that had me wanting to smash it to bits with my hammer. The drawer instructions are straight up incorrect. In order to get all three front-facing drawers to close, you have to install some of the drawer faces upside down, change the hole heights, and just trial and error for literally hours. \n\nSome of the other reviews on here are helpful, but the best piece of advice I have is to not assemble any of the drawers fully until you've put them all in and are sure they fit. So only do the bare minimum to test. Save yourself having to undo and redo a lot of work screwing in the bottom, etc. There are also helpful youtube videos for how to remove the drawer fronts using a screw driver - very easy if you actually see how the mechanism works. Ikea just needs to provide specialized instructions for both the interior drawer and how to get all three panels to fit for this specific cabinet.

If anyone is using this as end unit beware the electrical outlet will clash with the small top drawer rail. I had this issue. As with all IKEA cabinets the material crumbly/brittle. So if you need to cut it or drill holes, good luck! For this reason screws usually spin target than lock tight into the wood.\nAlso the size accuracy isn't perfect. So lining up a bank of cabinets, the edges may not all be exactly aligned. I think these products used to be better. For these reasons I wouldn't 5 star the product. Could be better quality for the money. Also the diagram for assembling drawer pieces is confusing, orientation may be incorrect.\nThis was also not available as a whole unit in BC for a long time, because the large drawer metal piece was unavailable. I bought it all as individual pieces. I'd like to see IKEA offer more options for mixing drawer sizes to buy it as a whole unit.

The manual for this product is laughably inaccurate.\n\nMary from USA (June 25, 2022) provides decent instructions, but hers did not work perfectly for me as I had a Sektion 194.677.72 next to this one, and the bottom of that cabinet door did not line up with the bottom drawer here. Additionally her instructions do not allow drawers 1-3 to fully close if you inspect the soft close mechanism. Below is the configuration that worked for me, from top (4) to bottom (1) drawer.\n\nDrawer #4 (hidden, Maximera low)\nrow 21 - bottom screws (2 | 2).\n\nDrawer #3 (Maximera low)\nrow 18 - top screws (3 | 3+1).\n\nDrawer #2 (Maximera medium)\nrow 10 - top screws (3 | 3+1).\n\nDrawer #1 (Maximera medium)\nrow 2 - top screws (3 | 3+1).\n\nOutside of the process of figuring out the drawer heights, everything was relatively smooth.

Front and Back metal re-enforcements introduced in SEKTION cabinets are a very good addition. Especially when your countertop seam happens to fall in the middle of the cabinet. Best part of the top drawer. It lets you use the dead space immediately below the cooktop. Mine is induction, so no heat issues, But I am not sure if the top drawer is too close for a gas or electric coil cooktops. Drawer fronts are very expensive in my opinion. They are painted Particle Board panels with plastic edging. I shall see how they hold after a liquid spillage. My bathroom cabinets drawer fronts bubbled at the bottom when water droplets gathered there. The newer version looks much better. But this time I am saving the receipts in case bubbling happens again.

I wish I could give these cabinets 5 stars but due to false advertising and not reading the fine print, it appears these cabinet come complete with 3" base as pictured but it does not. If you don't want your cabinet doors/drawers dragging on the floor you will need to construct your own base, as I did not see an option or suggestion to include them. I'm handy so it's not a huge deal to me other than the additional cost of hardware, adjustable feet and more of my time, I just wish I had know what I was getting ahead of time. It can also be beneficial that it doesn't come with the base depending on your application, and the ability to make it more seamless, but if you're not pretty handy, I wouldn't recommend you trying to install these (building a base for them) yourself. Click on "what's included" to see what you're actually paying for.\n\nOn a lighter note, the drawers/glides are some of the best I've ever seen. Smooth, Sturdy, and easy to assemble if you can interpret properly.

Ikea really needs to improve the assembly instructions for this item. It's not clear that each of the drawer fronts has a specific set of internal parts (bottom, back and sides) which vary depending on the size of the drawer. All the boxes are the same size and are labelled the same way. The only way to tell them apart is to open them all and match them with the corresponding fronts. If you're building multiple units as in a kitchen you might not want all the boxes open simultaneously just to avoid losing track of parts. It shouldn't be difficult to label the boxes; they do it for other items. Saves taking apart and redoing when you make mistakes. \nWe could never get the drawer fronts to line up properly. There is a big gap between some and a tiny gap between others, despite adjusting as the instructions show. Just to be clear, this was assembled with the assistance of my son who is a mechanical engineer and has loads of building experience. It's not just that we're not very handy.

We filled our new kitchen with SEKTION cabinets. We put them together with little difficulty except when it came to the drawers. It was very difficult to get the heights of the drawers placed correctly and the directions were not helpful with that part of the process. Once we got everything together, we were very pleased with the functionality of all the cabinets. However, 3 of our cabinet fronts came with nics. The matte blue material is slightly peeled away. We have not tried to replace these because we live 5 hours from the nearest Ikea. The other big bummer is that our beautiful blue matte cabinet fronts look filthy with finger prints every day!!! I didn't see any reviews about this before I chose matte blue. I would definitely not suggest getting this color! I spend a lot of time trying to find the best product to remove greasy looking finger prints around all of the handles. We chose white for our upper cabinets and have not had any issues with prints showing up on those.

This review is for the Sektion 3 fronts/4 drawers. \nLike other reviews I agree the directions are not correct for where to place the drawer hardware on the frame. If it helps this is what I did.\nStarting from the bottom\nDrawer #1 row 2 on frame, hardware use bottom middle hole (of the 6 grid) I believe this is actually correct in the instructions\nDrawer #2 row 10 on frame top middle hole (of the 6 grid) (Instructions say row 9)\nDrawer #3 row 18 on frame top middle hole (of the 6 grid) (Instructions say row 17)\nDrawer #4 row 22 on frame top middle hole (of the 6 grid) (Instructions say row 21)\n\nThe inside drawer is flexible you could raise or lower the row you put it on. As I have above gives 3.75 inches clearance for each drawer. \n\nHopes this helps.\n\nRegarding the quality, AKURUM system Ikea used to have the downgrade in quality is obvious; fronts are cheaper the metal support strip looks terrible if eye level with drawer and the toekick just cheap - terrible

Nice piece but here is how to build so alignment of doors work. The cover/face for the drawers has 6 holes on each side. For the bottom two drawers, install the bracket (snaps into the shelf to complete drawer) using the bottom two holes of the bracket. For position, do not pay attention to the sticker. It is not correct. Look for the two holes that have the most space between the middle holes and install on those. This will give you just enough space to snap drawers in with the plastic mounts above them. For drawer 3, face plate, install bracket using bottom two holes of bracket in the two holes closest to the middle holes. For the rails: Starting from bottom drawer (#1) install rails (top holes) on line 2 in cabinet. Drawer 2 install rails (top holes) on line 10, instructions say 9. Drawer 3 install rails (top holes) on line 18, instructions say 17. Drawer 4 install rails (top holes) on line 22, instructions say 21. Hopefully this will save you time and frustration.

I had a small kitchen with limited drawer space, and the counter was cluttered with crocks of spoons and spatulas while floor space was taken up by a cart holding things like dish towels and a hand mixer. Even the walls were cluttered, with hanging tools and a knife rack. Everything that was on the walls, on the counters and in the cart, as well as everything that was in our few drawers, fit in this bank of drawers. We gained open counter space and a clean, uncluttered look without having to move walls to enlarge the kitchen.

After assembling an entire kitchen of about 20 cabinets, we we so incredibly impressed that there was not one flaw or error in IKEA’s Sektion system. Everything was perfect, nothing was missing and everything went together incredibly. Sometimes we would think there was en error on IKEA’s behalf, but we always learned is was our user error. The instructions can be challenging, but once you get the hang of it, and maybe refer to a video, it all makes brilliant sense. The accuracy of its design is beyond compare.

Overall installation was pretty straightforward. Set aside a few hours depending on the amount of cabinets you're building and get a drill set to a low torque threshold. With that said, I'm posting this because I just finished assembling this cabinet. The drawer slide positions for the bottom drawer and top drawer are correct, however, the middle drawer is not accurately listed on the instructions. Instead of row 13, with the lower holes on the slide, you need to use row 14, with the upper holes on the slide. With this small shift, the drawers are spaced accurately and there is no overhang on the bottom or the top. Overall the cabinets are decent quality (particle board as with all Ikea stuff) and the soft close is pretty nice.

Building our home by ourselves used all of your kitchen cabinets for our kitchen took me a long time to put them together BUT am really happy with the look and I can safely say that I don't have dementia because I could follow the stick men's instructions!! Would of helped to highlight the need to look at different pages related to different set up design for number of drawers.. Very happy though

Have used the Sektion cabinets serval times and have been very happy. Excellent drawer slide and hinge hardware. Don't believe there is a another manufacture that come close to matching the warranty the Sektion cabints have. Only item lacking for 5 star rating is the prive, bit on the high side.

I love the cabinets. Bought for second time after hurricane Ian. However, the plastic legs are terrible. Ikea ought to sell a optional stronger leg. My granite counter took 4 guys to reinstall and every "wiggle shift" on the cabinet broke multiple legs. Thankfully we had extras.

Completely remodeled our kitchen in 2020 with Sektion with Bodbyn fronts. They are great! I load my drawers down with pots, pans, etc. They get opened and closed multiple times a day- and my cabinets are still great, no issues at all.

I'm using the lower drawer having 2 IKEA trash bins. Maybe because of the trash bins being lighter than the drawer front, the drawer won't close fully and stops right before it shuts. I always have to push it until it fully closes.
