I'm comparing this model to the previous one I've owned (LFX31925ST). My previous model's compressor went out and the price to replace was almost as much as a new one so we had to upgrade - very disappointed in that given our previous model still looks in showroom condition. I'm disappointed to share that after comparing both models, LG has sacrificed functionality as a cost cutting measure. Being in the product development space for almost 15 years, function should never be sacrificed to achieve a set profit margin. There are other areas to leverage your scale to decrease material costs without the consumer being inconvenienced.
Pros:
-Very aesthetically pleasing. Looks great in the kitchen. Materials are better at resisting fingerprints.
-Overall internal space very comparable to my previous 30.7 model
-Continues to be priced well for the function you receive compared to the other models
Cons: (comparing to my 10 year old LFX31925ST)
-Noise a few decibels greater than previous model (enough to hear the difference in a quiet room - wont notice if tv's on or people talking.
-Previous model had LED's on side walls of fridge which gave a grander presence and lighted up fridge better
-Shelves have decreased in quality and function. Previous model had nice stainless steal accents on the front of the shelves and this model has basic white plastic. Previous top shelf has a feature to push back half the shelf (hide below )to allow for taller objects on second shelf. This model does not have it. You have the adjust/remove the whole shelf if you want to store taller bottles on the middle shelf.
-Previous model had a closed cover top door shelf, this one is open requiring you to purchase additional storage bins for smaller items such as ketchup packets, sauces, or butter.
-Previous model had door shelf separators that allowed for you to have larger bottles in the back and small water bottles in the front. This helped keep the refrigerator door objects from falling over and allowed for more bottled water storage.
-Previous model's water dispenser was much quieter. This one is very loud when filling ice or dispensing water.
-Previous model had a small storage slot on the inside of the freezer door that allowed for you to store small items such as ice cream, popsicles, etc. New model does not have that - not a huge loss, but a loss in functionality non-the-less.
-Previous model had 3 drawers in the freezer - this one only has 2. Again, not a huge issue, but the previous model did allow for a bit more customization and functionality that was eliminated.
-Previous model had 3 drawers in the refrigerator allowing for more customization, this one only has 2. Drawers feel a bit sloppy when using. Seems like there is a bit more play in the drawers than before.
To summarize - A decent at best refrigerator that will support your daily needs for a single individual or a family. Plenty of storage for your needs, however quality has decreased over the years. Will look great in your kitchen, but only time will tell if the quality of the Linear Compressor will be sufficient to last you many years to come.More

This was just installed a few days ago, so here are my initial impressions. \nI like the look of the fridge. I like that the ice maker has been moved to the door, it leaves more shelf room in the fridge. However, I’m not sure if it’s the weight of the ice maker in the door or what, but that left door slams shut. And I mean SLAMS shut. Which is shocking every time it happens. Makes me jump every time. You have to remember to hold on to the door as it closes in order to guide it to close slowly and without a sudden bang. I have 3 small children, I will have no luck getting them to remember this. Thus, I know I cannot keep anything glass in the small shelves in the door.\nAdditionally, the slide out gliding drawer inside the refrigerator needs a redesign. If you can’t open both the fridge doors fully backwards, it hits the door and you’re only able to access the front half of that glide out drawer. This is my problem bc the left side of my refrigerator has a wall next to it. I cannot fully open the left door backwards therefore I cannot open that gliding drawer fully. If they would simply redesign the top of that drawer to be a dome shape that you can open up (pull the top upwards) I could still access the back of the drawer even if I can’t fully pull the drawer out. But, it is a fixed flat top. My last refrigerator was designed with the dome top you could open up and boy I sure miss it.\nAlso, I do not like that the bottom freezer drawer does not have a light. Why not? The top freezer drawer does.\nAnd lastly, when I saw the floor model in the store it had an on/off button for the ice bin in the top drawer of freezer. My understanding from the sales associate was that controlled whether or not I wanted the fridge to make the ice for that freezer tray. However when I received the fridge, there is no on/off button and I read instructions that say you have to manually dump ice into the freezer bin. So I don’t understand how LG can make an update to the fridge but keep the same model #? Now I’m wondering what other changes have been made (any corrections?) that I didn’t get as it seems I have a down level/older version of this fridge?

Overall liking the fridge so far. Considerations for consumers and opportunities for improvement for LG include: 1. Too much temperature variation throughout cavernous refrigerator section, confirmed using thermometers. Needs better distribution of cold air throughout 2. Cold air escapes fast - need to get in and get out. Discovered the need to set both refrigerator and freezer sections down as low they will go to maintain temperatures. 3. One of the refrigerator doors could use a more thoughtful storage compartment/space for small items. Prior fridge had a "junk drawer" in a door higher shelf that was perfect. 4. Ice compartment on the small size considering the overall size of this fridge. Also an annoying thing we have discovered is the right size of the ice storage compartment must get a little warmer, and the ice there tends melt a little then clump together and won't drop when distributing ice cubes from the external door. Requires going into the ice compartment door every few days if we think about it and break up the ice, which commonly causes us to scrape our hand knuckles on the tight space in the process.

The fingerprint resistant finish is a sanity saver! The unit is quiet and cools well. Great storage on the right door, but limited space on the left side due to the icemaker. It makes ice quickly, but I have to empty the bin into the freezer storage to be able to have enough ice to use in a day; there is no ice maker in the freezer drawer, which I wish was an option. The produce and deli drawers are roomy. I thought that the display on the front would show the actual fridge temp to know if it was working correctly, but it only displays what the set temperature is. Living in an area where there are power outages due to hurricanes and severe weather, it would be helpful to know the actual temperature of the interior for food safety. Seems useless, really, otherwise. I realize you can't have everything. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase.

Fridge is a great product but not perfect. Works and runs well, keeps food plenty cold, and does a decent job making the 3 different types of ice. Three areas of improvement: First, the doors do not line up perfectly across the horizontal axis, maybe it can be adjusted? Second, occasionally when opening the left door, the flap doesn’t retract all the way, and it hits the right door when closing. Third, it’s would be nice if the adjustable shelves were also movable from one side to the other. My wife wanted more smaller shelves on one side and much taller side on the other, but the shelves do not do that.

I purchased this refrigerator on August 12, 2024. The refrigerator is spacious, maintains temperature and has a lot of nice features. Three minor things, 1. The chilled water dispenser is only good for about one cup before the water is Luke warm. 2. Having one paddle for water/ice takes a little getting used too, not as convenient as having one for water and one for ice. 3. The doors are to loose when they swing open, I open the right side door next to a wall, if it’s not held while opening it will eventually cause damage to the wall. Overall I would strongly recommend

I purchased the refrigerator (LRFS28XBS) a couple of weeks ago. Decent basic frig. Keeping everything cold. Fairly quiet. Petty annoyances - right crisper requires both frig doors to be opened, left crisper you can open with just one frig door open. The cubed ice dispenser has already clogged. There is periodic light frost covering the shelves in the freezer section. The door with the ice mechanism is heavy. If you keep glass jars on that side and release the door it slams and makes a racket. If you keep butter etc on that door, it is fine.More

happy with the fridge other than 2 features missing from my previous lg fridge. Wish it had the flip out door rack in the freezer and there needs to be a better system or tray to catch ice and water from the door dispenser...crushed ice and any overflow have nowhere to be held and just run down the door and onto the floor. My old fridge had a tray that slid in and out. The freezer rack was exceptionally handy for ice packs and it looks to be built to be able to accommodate this rack...even tried to see if my old rack would fit but no luck.

Looks beautiful, plenty of space, very quiet. The only thing I am still getting used to is the left door, since the ice maker is inside this door, the door is heavy and it slams quite easy, door needs to be hold until you close it\nThe power cord is short. I noticed a gap on the back, looks like it was bumped. The delivery guy said "it is nothing, but you can call to exchange" look at the picture. I know is not easy to maneuver a heavy fridge but we paid a lot of money and expected for our fridge to have no damage at all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fridge is working good so far, ice maker is not necessarily at super freezing temp since it's technically inside the door fridge. So it melts quickly when dispense in the water. I feel like the right door doesn't shut as tight even with the adjusted pegs. The temperature stays between 37-40 degrees even if you set it to the lowest 33 degree for the fridge. Freezer works pretty good at 0 degree already. Overall, not a bad fridge as of this writing.

I’m enjoying my new refrigerator/freezer. There is plenty of room for storage in the refrigerator as well as in the freezer. However, I would have liked the ice and water dispensers to be able to dispense even when the right side refrigerator door is open. Also, the opening for the dispenser needs to be about 2-3 inches taller to accommodate the drink bottles we use frequently. The finish is indeed fingerprint proof which is a great feature.More

However the one thing that I am completely dissatisfied with is the water. I installed the water filter that came with the refrigerator and the water is undrinkable. I've been flushing it for about a month and still taste and smells nasty. I plan on buying a new filter to see if that helps.

We purchased the LG French Door Refrigerator as a part of a 4 appliance upgrade for our lakehouse. We went from all white appliances to stainless steel and our kitchen looks brand new! The new refrigerator has 27.8 cu. ft. and is large enough to handle guests and family members that come to visit. Our only concern is the compressor on the refrigerator makes more noise then we are used to.

Just got this installed this morning. It’s quite lovely and seems spacious. Unfortunately, it lost a star because there are matching dents on the water/ice panel, and there’s no tray to catch drips. The delivery guy said only GE fridges have those…? Hopefully the reviews about temperature control aren’t true because that is why we needed to replace ours.

Was disappointed to find that there was no bottom freezer ice maker. Probably our bad for not researching enough, but at the list price I would've thought there was one. For installation, pulls on lower drawers are difficult to install. Hard to get the hex wrench into that small of a hole when you can't see it!

two days after thanksgiving I noticed that was not getting cold The next day I started smelling something funny from the refrigerator and it still wasn’t getting cold The diagnostic was reading false for three days Afraid of losing all of my food especially my Thanksgiving delicious treats. I immediately called LG and was referred to AI because they were not available. I was giving a service order for three days later. On explain that I cannot lose my food, and my food was already going bad because of the miss diagnostic I was told not to worry at all, and I would be fully reimbursed once the repair guy came . The repair service worker was really nice and honest he even told me that he fixes this compressor 4 to 5 times a week and it used to be more than that. He had no idea what I was talking about regarding the reimbursement.I then called and sat on the phone for several hours talking to several different supervisors and was told I would receive a call by a liaison which I did at 6 Am informed me that the most they would allow for reimbursement for any circumstance is $100

The fridge is working as advertised. My thoughts so far: lacks a dedicated shelf or something in the door to hold butter or eggs. Also, the water dispenser is slow; might be my water line. Craft ice comes out in either 3 or 6 per day. Not sure it is keeping pace.

So far so good had the fridge for about 2 months and ice maker still works balls of ice are great hopefully it keeps working. Btw I had to remove a shelf in the refrigerator to gain more space for bigger containers. Shelves on doors are not very adjustable.

The ice maker is a poor deign. Its in the door and makes it very heavy. If you don't make ice every day it freezes and lumps up and wont operate at all. You have to open the ice maker door in the door pull out the box and remove the solidified ice.

We LOVE the roominess of this refrigerator, having 2 different freezer drawers and how easy it is to keep the outside clean. The only negative is how little ice it holds. It works for just 2 people but if you have a big family this may be an issue.
