True to the brand's ethos, this device encapsulates the perfect balance between simplicity and effective home safety.\n\nSetting up the camera was straightforward. Both the wifi connection and pairing with the base station were a breeze, so even less technologically inclined people should be able to cruise through the setup process. The addition of a privacy shade is another aspect that I love, since it adds an extra layer of reassurance and privacy within my home.\n\nThe camera's design is very practical while not standing out inside the home. The inclusion of a long power cord provides flexible placement options around the house, and the accompanying bracket for wall mounting adds to the versatility. The infra-red night vision is another star feature, delivering good image quality even under low-light conditions.\n\nHowever, potential buyers should be aware of a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, during the setup process, there were numerous software updates which, while essential for peak performance, interrupted the initial setup process. Additionally, the camera needed to be fully charged before setup could be completed, which delayed setup by a few hours. I already had the basic security package from Simplisafe and was able to add this camera to my security system. I love that it's wireless ,I can put it anywhere that has a flat surface but can mount it also. I can also set it up to trigger an alarm if motion is detected. The timing of its arrival coincides with my young grandson (he's 5) staying with us for the entire summer vacation. He unfortunately likes to do naughty things when no one's watching, has a bit of a tendency to open doors that lead outsider. So while I'm in the kitchen cooking I can turn the camera on in the living room and see if he's trying to sneak out to the backyard(I have a door alarm set). Or even just checking if he's eating his snack and watching his cartoons. It's giving me peace of mind. It also helps when I leave the house I can check up on my senior dog and cats. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Smart Alarm indoor camera integrated seamlessly into our SimpliSafe system! It replaced an existing camera, and the most immediate detail I noticed is that there's a much wider field of view. It has a great range of motion for precisely positioning the angle you want to view, and can be permanently mounted to a surface or left free standing, providing full flexibility in placement. At the most, it took 5 minutes to install and position. Which was a huge improvement over the model it replaced. It also offers the added benefit of allowing SimpliSafe to contact you through the camera if the alarm is tripped, which is great when you have kids that don't pay attention to whether or not the alarm is on. The battery life is also vastly improved from previous models. After more than a full week of a very active household, it still reads as 100% charged, which I cannot say for an older camera we have that needs new batteries every few days. We're extremely grateful to @Influenster and @Simplisafe for providing this camera for free in exchange for a review!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Simplisafe smart alarm indoor wireless security camera in exchange for my honest review and this is a really solid camera in all the ways! First of all its super easy to install, literally only took a few minutes with the app. Plus its nice that it doesn't have to be screwed into the wall, it can be placed on a shelf. The design is very sleek and space saving. It did take a few hours for it to charge completely but it's nice to have the option to use it wired with the charger connected. I love the personalized settings in the app, especially the option to turn the notifications on for certain alarm settings. It gives me extra peace of mind knowing it has the smart alarm feature where the call center can view and speak thru the camera during an alarm for a quicker response time. Also it has a very nice shutter cover to know that your privacy isn't being invaded by a call center. The only reason why I subtracted a star is because sometimes it does take a few moments longer to "wake the camera" when trying to view it from the app. But I would definitely recommend this Simplisafe indoor security camera!

I do have other cameras that I have installed myself so comparing those to this, SimpliSafe was faster and easier. I just just went on the app and it walked me through everything. I've had trouble with other brands. I completed the whole set up in less than 7 minutes. The camera is a good size to either set on a bookcase or screw into the wall. It does have sound and a microphone. I really like that it's part of the system so I don't have to open multiple apps to get to it. I love the recording aspect and that I can set it to record motion. I've only been using it for a week but I really like it.

I put this in our master closet and it blends in nicely with the boxes I have stored on high shelves. The setup was a little confusing as I initially chose the wrong camera type, but once I figured out my error, connecting the new camera to my existing system was a breeze. I like the long battery life (~3mo) and it's easy to see the battery status in the app, although I don't think I would install this in an area that would be difficult to take down the camera when it needs to be charged. Would definitely recommend!

I had their first version of and indoor camera that's black, bulky and it has a mic and speaker built into it. What I like that's different about this one is that it's white so blends in more for aesthetic purposes. The technology on this one seems to be upgraded. You can allow the monitoring service to access the camera when it detects humans when armed. They can then also speak to intruders to detour them from being in your space.

There is a visible shutter that blocks the front of the camera lens when not in use, which is great for those concerned with privacy. I enjoy that the rechargeable battery allows for this camera to be placed virtually anywhere (within range of the WiFi network). It was very simple to set up and charge. \n\nMy only complaint is that the camera is a bit blocky and doesn't have a great range of motion. I wanted to use this camera for my son's playroom, but it was a little more difficult to get the perfect angle to see everything.\n\nOverall, I would still recommend this camera.
