I've been using Sony's E mount since the NEX-5N and my most recent E mount camera before this was the a6100. As the years went by and watching full frame body after full frame body come out, I started to wonder if Sony had abandoned the APS-C format. I'm a person who doesn't need the benefits of full frame and would rather shoot APS-C due to its smaller size and cost. \r\n \r\nAnd so those of us who have invested in APS-C lenses over the years finally get the latest Sony autofocus, fully articulating screen, a front dial, modern sensor, updated menus, responsive body and a couple extra megapixels. The autofocus alone is worth the upgrade for me. I've only used the camera a couple of times so far so this is my first impression and I don't have a lot of specific things to say. \r\n \r\nAlso, while Lightroom's color profile for my a6100 was not good and requires lots of color tweaks to even get to acceptable, I'm happy to report that raw files from the a6700 look great in Lightroom Classic by default and closely match Sony's jpeg color rendering. \r\n \r\nThis body has even made some of my older lenses more useable again. I had been having problems with my Sigma 30mm not wanting to focus, but it seems to work just fine with this body. \r\n \r\nOne more comment, in case anyone at Sony is reading this. I recently got my hands on an old NEX-5N again after many years and it reminded me of how small Sony originally intended to make cameras. All of Sony's modern cameras are giants compared to the original and I know it's because they also need to be video cameras, but here's a crazy idea for you... make a photo-only NEX-5N mark 2 with a 26 megapixel APS-C sensor and any other modern tech you can get in there. I promise they'll sell like hotcakes! Especially if you can make a new pancake lens or two.

I've only just gotten into my photography journey. Having only ever taken photos with an iPhone, I purchased a Fuji X-T4 as my first camera body. I quickly learned that camera was not for me, as it had a hard-coded virtual film style preset that could not be disabled. After selling it, I picked up the Sony a6700, and what a world of difference! It takes clear, sharp photos with no overlaid film look. However, the inclusion of Sony's "Creative Look" feature, as well as Photographic Styles, afford one the option to adjust several options to completely change how this camera outputs images. The ability to remap almost every button on the camera body is also a huge plus; the ability to massively personalize your camera to your needs is invaluable, although I recommend a label maker if you have memory issues with what button does what. Overall, I've had nothing but a good time and would highly recommend this camera to anyone who wants to get into the Sony line. This camera nails the basics, and adds some higher tier creature comforts. It has an incredibly fast autofocus, and subject recognition and tracking are amazing. The light camera body paired with a lightweight lens will get you stunning performance during quick movements, as the autofocus and subject tracking will easily keep pace. Entry-level doesn't really get better than this, in my opinion.

I've owned a number of high end digital cameras from Panasonic and Canon over the years. This is my first Sony. I'm not disappointed. It is a superbly built product, great heft and feel in the hand. Menus are as diffficult as most of the competitors since this is a pro level product. My only nits and what makes it not a "pro" level is lack of dual SD cards and the mini HDMI port, which if you shoot with HDMI add ons you are not going to like (but let's be real, HDMI is not a pro connector to begin with). From the ability to split the menus for still & video shooting (nice touch), to the incredible low light ability on this for an APS-C, and it's Ai based eye tracking, I am sure that this is going to suit me quite well. You likely will swap out the kit lens, which is ok for quick and dirty shooting for anyone not a pro, I went with the Sony 16-55 for its weather sealing. Sony products have almost always been first rate and this continues in that vein. If you are serious about shooting great still and videos and want to move up from camera/phones, hoping to get a camera to grow into, this should be on your short list.

If you are either a serious one man band filmmaker, photographer or serious amateur, this camera is the best thing you can do to upgrade your work. The 26 MP camera produces extremely good photographs, the lenses are razor sharp, but the real magic in this camera is the autofocus. Eye tracking both on humans and animals, is extremely accurate, the ability to combine images into extreme depth of field, and many other features simply put this on top of Micro 4/3ths from Panasonic. I’ve owned and shot with Panny’s 4/3s for a decade and sold them all after buying this. They have caught up to Panny’s video shooting menus, which were always superb. While this isn’t a full frame, and yes full frame produces outstanding low light images, (I also owned a Canon 5D for many years) there is not much wrong with the high ISO ability of this camera. If you want something a bit less heavy, you could go with the RX100 VII but it’s so close in price I wouldn’t bother. I have no complaints about this camera. Get it.

This is my favorite camera since the days of film. That's a compliment. With the addition of the new dial I'm able to put the camera on auto iso and adjust the shutter speed and aperture and shoot quickly. In the last 4 years since the last update of this camera they have incrementally improved pretty much all aspects of the camera. I'm very glad they moved the movie button away from where my thumb grips the camera. This prevents me from accidentally hitting it and taking movies which often kept me from catching a photo. Its not a full frame camera but the quality is still quite good especially when combined with editing tools like Lihtroom. Plus with the smaller image sensor im able use telephoto lenses which are much less expensive tha their full frame cousins. The faster burst mode is also great for sports photography. Watch some videos about the camera. I like everything about it and I don't say this lightly.

Finally retired my old Canon DSLR for something more portable... paired this with the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 zoom and wow, the whole thing is the same weight as just my old Canon 6D body.\n\n\nFor picture quality, it doesn't match my old 6D's full-frame and L lenses - but it's still very good, good enough. The full-frame quality doesn't matter when it's too heavy to bring, and so my 6D missed out on my last 3 trips to southeast Asia. It's clearly better than my iPhone 15 Pro, where Apple's photo doctoring becomes almost cartoonish when you look at them side-by-side. The Sony's .JPEGs are surprisingly good & well-balanced, they almost have me questioning whether I need the RAW files for later tinkering (of course I do, but it's closer than with the Canon 6D).\n\n\nThe only downside I'm seeing is the plethora of controls and options cluttering the view screen - Sony's given control over everything, to the point of being overwhelming & somewhat confusing... someone new to photography would be intimidated by the (literally) dozens and dozens of settings you're shown and invited to tinker with. Even with 40+ years of reasonably advanced photo skills, I struggle a bit with the interface... and this is with the improved menu system, I can only imagine what the earlier models are like. It isn't yet as muscle-memory easy as the Canons.\n\n\nAnyways, it's a keeper! Very happy with the size/weight for portability and the quality isn't full-frame but is absolutely good enough. This one comes on my next trip!

Upgraded from my 10 year old a6000 and couldn't be happier with the decision. a6700 with 18-135 zoom is light and compact but with great balance, build quality, layout, and larger battery capacity. Position and quality of the viewfinder is great - some professionals complain about it but for a compact camera I think it is ideal. Autofocus is blazing fast and image quality so far is great although I need to shoot more in different conditions. For a kit lens the zoom has great range, is crystal clear, and above all super light and compact - a great match for the camera. Manual zoom requires two hand operation but is faster and more responsive, so to me seems better, and best if all the range allows me to carry only one lens. Cudos to Sony designers and engineers for a great mid-range all around winner.

This is a great camera! Extremely good build quality, very solid, feels great in my hands. The only real downside is the menu of options. Not really the menu, but the “operators manual”. It is online, and it is organized by “things you might want to know”. You are pretty much forced to drop into the middle of the manual and search your way out to find what you need. Give me the manual, from beginning to end, and I will be happy.\nThe kit lens here will cover most shooting situations with pretty decent results. You might want to upgrade your lens if you are planning “specialist” shoots (it will cost a lot more for a small increase in quality). \nThe content creator mic works really well and is easy to use.\nOverall, very pleased.

I have owned several Sony cameras in the past, both APS-C and Full Frame. This one has the best ergonomics for my taste. I love how it feels in my hand, the low weight, & the new larger battery. The image quality is impressive and I am happy to be back to smaller file sizes. Many of the buttons and controls are already familiar but I am having a bit of a learning curve with the new menus compared to my other Sony cameras, but once I master what I use for my shooting style all should be Ok. Looking to be using mostly smaller lenses and keeping the whole user experience on the practical/convenient/light side of things. Also looking forward to playing with the new Creative Style options. I highly recommend this camera.

For context, I bought this to upgrade from a a6100 that I had been shooting on for a few years. I'm just a hobbyist photographer, but I was looking forward to the improved autofocus, ergonomics, menu systems, and updated tech features (i.e. better battery, usb-c connections, better wireless connectivity support). \n\nI've used the camera for a few outings now and have been pleased with the results. I've even started to dabble into taking video with my camera because it feels easier and more intuitive than my a6100. A lot of people seem to talk about the articulating screen being a key feature, but I found that it hasn't impacted my workflow much.

Recently retired Creative Director, had been using RED and Sony digital cine cameras, Nikon DSLRs, Leica Film Rangefinders professionally. Needed a small camera for travel and when I want something better than a phone but not the whole production setup. Really pleased with the stills and video footage from this camera. Only have the 18-135 kit lense and will be adding some primes soon. The menus are deep but if you’re used a RED, these are not as difficult. Love the ability to custom setup buttons and menus. Have purchased form B&H for over 30 years as a professional, I have always been impressed with their fairness and customer service!

This camera was purchased with the intent of taking some night ocean shots out on a boat while paired with an E 15 mm/1.4 f lens. While I have been yet unable to try it out on the ocean or on a boat, just playing with the camera thus far showd it is very good at stabilizing and takes very crisp shots in low light environments (dark rooms in a house while playing with different settings). A lightweight body easy to transport. As an amateur to photography, it meets all my conditions while being reaonably priced for a beginner. Very easy to snap on the lens purchased separately, as well.

I got this camera primarily for bird photography and I have been thoroughly impressed. I own an a7 iv as well and I found the AI auto focus on this camera to be even more responsive than my a7 iv. I love the crop factor when putting this camera on a telephoto lens letting me get even further range than is capable with a full frame sensor. The detail in this sensor is impressive to say the least and having in-body image stabilization has been a game changer (coming from the Sony a6100) when using long telephoto lenses. I have no complaints with this camera body.

I love how easy this camera is to carry around. The compact size makes it perfect for everyday use and travel, and switching lenses is quick and simple. The AI-powered tracking and autofocus are very impressive, it does a great job locking onto subjects and keeping them in focus. The interface is responsive, intuitive, and easy to navigate, which makes shooting enjoyable even for longer sessions. It’s also very easy to offload photos to my phone and PC. I have been a professional photographer for going on 3 years now. When i first started I purchased a used a6400 and shot with well over 100 clients. Going from that to the new a6700 is a massive game changer! I was conflicted between a Sony a7iv or the a6700 and honestly this is the best choice! You get top tier performance without the massive price increase over a full frame. It's much lighter than a full frame and lens are much more cheaper than full frame lens. You cannot go wrong with this camera for both photography and videography related needs

I own several Sony and Nikon cameras and was debating on an updated package to use for travel and everyday carry. The A6700 with 18 - 135 lens was an excellent choice. To keep it light, I often use a 24mm prime lens, but the 18 - 135mm offers a very useable zoom range for most of the shooting that I do and is usually on my camera when in the bag for when I need to grab it quickly. Fast, reliable focus, lots of ways to customize my shooting modes, and remarkable image quality make it a worthy addition and my new camera of choice.

I've been using Sony for a number of years and have a couple full frame bodies that I use professionally, so when I was looking around for a secondary 'casual' camera I couldn't think of a better option. It's lightweight, and allows me to use all the lenses I already own, while still offering the most recent technology within the body. It's great to throw in my bag when traveling or when I'm out just for fun, but I can also trust if I needed it as a back-up body it would do everything I expect from the full frame bodies.

I watched 100's of videos to make an informed decision. This camera is super high quality. Its one of the best APS-C sensor camera that actually competes with full frame cameras. This camera is medium size, compact, but powerful. I can confidently say that this camera is the best for both beginners and pros alike. High quality photos and videos. I'm still learning how to use the camera, but I'm pleased with my results so far. I think deciding on which one to get was the hardest part. I settled on this one because from what I gathered, its a good balance of video and photography performance, relatively easy to learn controls, and ti feels very comfortable to hold and isn't too heavy. I do wish I went with a different kit lens, possibly the 18-135mm instead since it appears to be more versatile, but I am very satisfied overall with this camera.

I’ve been dreaming about a mirrorless for years and finally made the leap. Upgraded from a Nikon D3400 and the Sony 6700’s quality of life features really make a difference. I thought this was a great value and the items were fabulous quality. This made storing and caring for the equipment easier. I married the a6700 to the Sigma 16-300 mm zoom, mainly for taking images of birds. It’s everything I wanted and more. I’ll let the images speak for themselves. Highly recommend buying David Busch’s “Sony a6700/ILCE-6700 Guide to Digital Photography “ to understand the miriad setting options this camera offers. I have been using a 2017 Sony A6000 for years and it has been a great camera until I encountered the fast action of volleyball. The A6700 has the speed and focus abilities to take great shots during volleyball games. I have not taken many other types of shots with the A6700 except a few of a small pond where the various shades of green seem flat.
