[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prior to using this gas leaf blower, I was using an electric leaf blower that did just an OK job with blowing my leaves, and it hurt my arms to carry around the yard. As a result, I purchased this Ryobi gas backpack leaf blower. \r\n\r\nThis tool was my first one that is gas-powered, so initially my husband and I felt a little scared about fire hazards, but my first use of this product eased our minds. The instruction manual was easy to follow, so I was able to easily assemble the leaf blower in a few steps. I then poured a pre-mixed 50:1 gas/oil (purchased separately) into the tank, and I figured out how to turn on the leaf blower and use the throttle. The box contained all necessary parts except for sufficient gas/oil, safety glasses, and ear protection. \r\n\r\nI feel very happy that this gas backpack leaf blower blows my leaves with much airflow, and it very quickly clears a large area of my yard. Furthermore, the shoulder straps are padded and adjustable, so they are comfortable for me as a small woman to wear, and the strap and clasp around the chest helps the shoulder straps to stay on. I expect the shoulder and chest straps to fit my large husband as well. After using this leaf blower for a couple of hours, I had no back pain. \r\n\r\nThe only advantage that my electric leaf blower has is its vacuum that sucks up leaves, which this gas leaf blower does not have, but I can always use the two together.

Bought this for my husband and the flex tubing that is connected to the blower arm has split in several spots. If you look at the picture you can see that above the gaping hole there are multiple splits

Worked well while it lasted. Flawless and easy to start for a newbie, used good gas but carb sounded choking out and struggling after a few uses. Tried to clean it out by disassembling but couldn’t find carb, read online it might now have one so when it bogs down it’s gona die off. Mute point, last time I tried starting the cord wouldn’t retract and then it’s also not fixable without replacing the whole piece for $50+ so it’s currently useless and I’m annoyed for sure. Have used Ryobi tools other times without issue, this of course had to be my first personal purchase lol. Unsure about repurchasing from others reviews, reached out to customer service. Will update review after they reach back out and see what they say given it’s a common complaint of others but I don’t see anyone else updated.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was gifted this about a year ago as a birthday present and used it for one season. The blower was stored in a garage during the off-season. During my use this past fall, the unit caught fire. The fire was not due to a gasoline leak but rather occurred on the opposite side of the unit than the gas ‘tank’. I have no idea what caused the fire. The blower is now trash. It was a good unit while it worked. I’m very disappointed in this product due to the short life. Not sure I’d get another.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in 2022 and it worked great at first. Then the pool cord broke and then the Carburetor came loose. And then now it just won't run. It was running and just stopped and I can't get it running. I have a whole Arsenal of ryobi tools that are all great. This one just has poor running ability. It had Great-Power when it did run and I loved it when it did run. I wish they could make one that was more durable And is more reliable .

Runs great for a 1year after that plastics start to crack and carburetor will need to be retightened pull cord will break off and you will find yourself working on it every time you use it I have purchased 3 of these blowers and have had the same problems recommend trying any of the other backpack blowers if they have them in stock only reason I'm at my 3rd is do to lack of stock on other backpack blowers and yes the 3rd one can't repair nomore time to buy a different one if in stock

ok for 1 year before the lower frame (the plastic at the bottom that holds the blower) broke off in 2 places beside 2 of the 3 screws that hold it together. Ryobi CS for outdoor said contact local repair place. They charge $40 to look which RYOBI may not cover and they take weeks to evaluate, part takes weeks, then more to install. Spending the rest of the summer waiting for my leaf blower to be evaluated and maybe repaired is not adequate. RYOBI lost my business. DEWALT is next.

The unit was great when it worked.\r\n\r\nI went to use it for the first time this spring and as other reviewers have stated the plastic clips that connect the backpack to the engine completely snapped off when pulling the pull cord. It's kept indoors, no reason plastic should be that brittle so soon!\r\n\r\nI contacted the nearest service center and they said they didn't want to do anymore Ryobi warranty work for the foreseeable future because Ryobi is being a pain to work with.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this leaf blower about a year ago and the flex bellows split on me. The leaf blower itself is great but the bellow splitting is causing me to rate this a two.

Relatively good blower but not the best RYOBI has. The Blower Bellows Flex Tube broke within a year and forced me to buy a replacement.

The blower was easy to assemble. Once assembled I mixed the fuel and oil mix (included), \nI am a woman no more that 130lbs.. I was worried that starting it would require a lot of pulling of the string but I was shocked at how easy it was to pull the string to start it. \nThis blower made sure to remove everything in its path but the grass. It got rid of the wet leaves, wet branches and sticks with ease.. Would most definitely recommended.

I have had this Ryobi leaf blower for two seasons. I only use it for the spring and fall of leaf clean up. I didn’t even get through my second fall season (today). What I am saying is after the fourth or fifth time of using the blower, it is junk. Do not buy! I use the good gas and mix exactly what it says and it’s garbage. I have had other ryobi tools that are good, the leaf blower isn’t one of them. Ryobi, my trash day is Friday. If you want it back come get it, if not it’s in the trash!

Probably a great blower- if it ever starts. This is my 2nd Saturday with mine and it's about to be returned. 1,000 cranks on the rope should not be required. I finally got it started earlier today. Ran a tank of fuel thru it, filled it back up, and it will not start. Should be warmed up, but no. I've done all the tricks- nothing. Brand new machine. Just cheap junk. Do t fall for it. Spend the money and buy a better brand- I will. Today.

I just assembled this unit out of the box, purchased today. Filled with premixed fuel and ready to start for the FIRST time. First pull and the string does not retract. Stuck out and no way to start. Very disappointed and will be getting my money back for both the unit and the fuel. Don’t waste your money on this piece of junk. Spend the extra $ and get a reputable brand

Rip off out 250.00. Look up all the you tube videos about how you can’t fix the carburator. . It was fine now it won’t work- we are still trying to get the part which is not available anywhere near us- so I’ll never recommend and I’ll never buy another ryobi- they won’t take it back for exchange- made cheap.

If you are going to buy this, just be prepared to have to take it apart to replace the pull cable. I’ve had two of these and I’ve replaced the cable multiple times on each. I have lots of gas powered tools and this is the only one that breaks like this. At this point I’m just going to throw it away.

This blower is three months old. Has not been use much has always been hard to start. There's no place to grab the unit and pull the cord except for the handle on top of the back harness well that finally broke today cheap flimsy, plastic material not a fan of Ryobi anymore.

This is a massive waste of money. Do not buy. As others have said the carb died on me after 3 uses and there’s no way to repair it. Avoid the headache and don’t buy this blower.

This is a pretty great backpack leaf blower!! I'm on the small side all of 5' 3 on a good day. I looked for one that was light weight but could still put out some power. I was not disappointed at all!!! I have a 6 acre yard and a few trees. With the rain and fall here this blower takes care of everything!! And fast!!! Only thing I don't "like" is you can't turn off the blower and keep the engine running while you walk around a pile you're shaping. But thats literally it!! It's heavy even after 1.5hr straight. The harness isn't for smaller framed people but I can still work with it. I have this exact model. It caught fire where the muffler exhausts. The shroud in that area heats up and ignites.

I owned a blower just like this before and I loved it. Had it for 5 years and it ran great in summer for leaves and in winter for snow. My wife had put regular gas in it, instead of the gas/oil mix, without my knowledge. It never ran the same again. lol. I tried finding another one but found that they had been discontinued...I saw this one online on my wish list and bought it. It was advertised as used...but it looks as if was never used. Not even a gas smell in the tank. Very...very pleased with the purchase and can't wait to use it. I owned a blower just like this before and I loved it. Great leaf blower. I thought this was a used unit, but it sure looked like a brand new one to me. I have used it a few times and it blows with lots of power. I have a Ryobi hand held blower as well and find this brand to be good quality. I would recommend this blower, and this brand is a lot cheaper than some out there. Great leaf blower.
