A roundabout pathway finally deposited this turntable in my house. Now that I have it, I love it! And that same pathway brought me to Sweetwater.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nI briefly considered buying this turntable about 1-1\/2 years ago. At that time I had already rekindled my passion for vinyl with a Rega P1 which I had been using for a few years. Wanting to upgrade I thought about this table before deciding to purchase a Technics SL-1200GR2. That wonderfully built turntable lasted only about a week in my house. As great as that turntable is, it just didn't sound as good to me as my P1…..using the same cartridge, a RigB modified AT VM540ML. So I sent the Technics back thinking that maybe direct drive wasn't the way to go. I went with an Audio Technica AT-LP7….a very nice turntable that is less expensive than the Technics and definitely an upgrade over the P1. But recently, with no regrets about the LP7, I knew I wanted more in a turntable. That brought back to reconsidering the 3000ne. This time I looked more deeply into reviews, videos, etc. Googling for reviews brought me to Sweetwater, where I noticed the offer for special savings if I called in. Having already decided to get this turntable I called Sweetwater and spoke with Sebby, received a discount and a few days later the DENON was in my house!<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nMultiple people tell you this thing looks better than the pictures and videos. They are spot on. It's beautiful! And it plays records very well indeed. That same RigB VM540ML sounds fantastic on the 3000ne, better than on the LP7 (on which it sounded great) and definitely better than on the 1200GR2. The tonearm on the dp 3000ne, in my opinion, is what really sets it apart from the 1200GR2. It simply seems more refined and musical. And now I am breaking in a new AT33xMLB…..my first venture into moving coils. It already sounds great and once it's broken in I anticipate enjoying more fully what this table and tonearm can do.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nThis turntable is the end of my turntable journey and I'm very happy to have purchased it from Sweetwater. Next time I'm looking for home audio gear I'm definitely checking out Sweetwater. And, yes, you should get this turntable. I predict you'll love it too.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\nPS: I listen to rock, jazz and classical music. I'm using a Darlington Labs MM6B phono preamp and I picked up a used DENON AU-310 SUT to allow the use of moving coils……a great system with the 3000ne.
