- Blazing-fast and [mostly] error-free picture scanning, even with cupped photos (<2 sec @ 600 dpi); full 8.5' x 11" documents took <1 second! - Auto-correct software generally did a decent job for unattended image enhancement with only a few snaps looking worse than the originals; true photophiles will probably just want the unaltered image - Wireless scanning to PC or direct to Google/Dropbox worked flawlessly and was actually a godsend not to have to snake one more USB cable around the desktop - 2-sided scanning for notes/labels on the back of the pictures was a brilliant inclusion, especially at this price and at this speed - Small desktop footprint...folds up to about the size of a large loaf of Pepperidge Farm bread - Included OCR integration with popular Office programs/Evernote quickly created editable documents from scanned papers CONs - Epson Event Manager (installed during driver installation) would NOT SHUT UP when the scanner was on--every 3-5 minutes I was getting an annoying task-bar pop-up (and default Windows notification sound) that the scanner was ready to load images. Yeah, I could turn off the notifications in the OS itself (there is no option to do so in the task-bar interface itself)...but even so, interrogating the scanner every few minutes just to announce to the user it's still ready??? - I noticed a few large "scanning bands" running horizontally across some of the images after only 20 or so scans new, straight out of the box...there's a cleaning cloth in the box, but stopping every 20-50 prints is simply something you'll need to figure into your battle rhythm as you use this scanner, especially for LARGE photo collections - The unit unfolds like a Transformer--document feed and output trays extend the footprint to more than a foot tall and 21" deep from back to front--just be aware of the additional clearance you'll need around the unit if you have a smallish/cluttered desk - Not sure what value the 1200 dpi setting is as the software simply interpolates the missing pixels anyway...this might create a false sense that you're getting ultra-high resolution but there's nothing more the hardware can do with the original images than 600 dpi...and anyone wanting to blow up/manipulate images at higher resolutions like that probably has the serious image editing software to do so already (just a hunch). A simple hardware toggle/button (fast/600 dpi, super-fast/300 dpi) would have been a more welcome inclusion Wow...if you have a huge collection of pictures sitting in albums or boxes, or bucket-loads of receipts/papers you need to digitize, this is definitely the device for you (if your pockets are deep enough!). Software installation went painlessly and wireless setup was a breeze, though rather than get up and run across the house to press the WPS button on my router, I opted for the 1-time USB connection (using the included USB 3.0 cable--nice!) from my PC just to get moving in a hurry. I was up and scanning in less than 5 minutes even with the software download and installation--no joke! The instructions tell you to limit yourself to about 35 or so photos at a time; I scanned in batches of 50 using very old, cupped photos from storage, and this thing just kept spitting them out at mach 3! The scanning software gives you options for auto-naming/grouping/tagging photos by year, season, event, etc....a nice usability touch for digitizing large chunks of your life at a time. The image auto-correct options were okay most of the time, and in several instances the resultant photos actually turned out VERY nice, though the program seemed to have a few burps with red-eye reduction on just a few of my prints. I did notice some dithering in most of my very dark images and a bit of blue-push was fairly common across all my photos using auto-enhance/correct. But, you can opt to have both the original AND corrected/enhanced photos saved automatically during scanning--another nice usability feature that gives you freedom to choose what image you want to save/share. All said, the software auto-correct settings will probably serve most users well who are looking to put gobs of pix up in Dropbox or on their Facebook wall (for example) or simply ensure their images are readily available for sharing in the digital age...if that's you, you'll get pretty great results with this scanner and the speed at which you arrive at those results simply can't be touched outside of sending your prints away to someone else to scan for you. But if you're serious about archiving your precious memories forever, you'll probably want to a) digitize the originals as-is and adjust them by hand later, and b) take time to scan only a handful of snaps at a time, clean the glass and rollers, then rinse and repeat. It will still be faster than a flatbed scanner, but don't think you can just throw several stacks of 300 pictures at a time unattended at this scanner and not have a lot of photos turn out with

My family is large - seven children and thirteen grandchildren. Family moments and the thousands of photos that were born from those family moments are very precious. We've had several wildfire near misses, as our home is right up against a hillside. So, I have wanted to scan the 10,000 or so photos we've collected over the years to prevent loss from a disaster, like a fire or flood, and also to save these wonderful memories before the fading photo paper and color degradation (due to the use of inferior quality processing materials) threaten to destroy them forever. Several years ago, I bought an all-in-one printer and decided to make use of the flatbed scanner to start on my ambitious photo preservation plan. I was able to get up to four, sometimes five photos on the scanner bed at a time, but the repetitive, time-consuming, and laborious process of arranging the photos on the scanner, waiting for the scanner to do its very slow pass, and then use the software that came with the printer ‘ scanner to separate the 4-5 photos scanned and straighten and orient them properly wore down my resolve, and after a few months of on-again off-again enthusiasm, I gave up. Now, about ten years later, I finally found the Epson FF-680W photo scanner with an auto-feeder. \r\n\r\nThe FF-680W saved my photo archiving dreams and turned them into a reality. Right out of the box, I could tell it was a quality piece of scanning equipment. It feels solid, but it has a small form factor, which is a welcomed feature, as it takes up very little space on my already crowded work surface, but it's productivity footprint is huge. My wife went to work, organizing all the photos by year to the best of her ability, as I followed behind, scanning each year's photos as quickly as she finished each stack. The FF-680W greedily accepted each stack I fed it, scanning each photo with the quality I hoped for, but so much faster than I thought could realistically be achieved. In two weeks' time, devoting between 3 and 5 hours each day, I scanned almost 10,000 photos, completely a years-long goal (finally), and it was not only painless - it was actually fun!\r\n\r\nThe FF-680W is again both fun and easy to use. And, it comes with a simple to use but very powerful software application to help manage the process with very little effort. The software is smart enough that, if you finish scanning a large stack of photos from a particular year and move on to another year's photos, but later find more prints from a year you already scanned, there's no need to worry. Just feed the straggler prints into the feeder, push the scan button and select the year of the photos. The software then looks at the contents of the directory for the year you selected, recognizes that there are already other photos that you've previously scanned to that directory and continues numbering sequentially, adding them to the group previously scanned, so you won't end up with confusing scan numbering or multiple folders for scanned photos from 1978, for example. \r\n\r\nGiven the fact that photo prints often curl or crease, before I began using the FF-680W I thought there was little chance that the feeder would perform well, but out of the thousands of photos that I scanned, many old and not in great auto-feed form, I only had a few misdeeds, and in not one of those misdeeds was it the printer's fault. The photos that jammed were clearly in no shape to feed through, but because the scanner had fed so many poor condition prints previously, I guess I felt emboldened to push the feeder beyond a reasonable expectation. But, even then, the scanner caused no damage you the misfed photos. \r\n\r\nI can't say enough great things about this fantastic photo scanner. The only thing that kept me from buying it sooner was the price. Let's face it, this is not an inexpensive piece of equipment. But. After staring at the tall pile of boxes of photos for so many years, I finally took the plunge and bought it. Man, what the heck was I waiting for? I strongly recommend this scanner to anyone in a similar situation. Buy this life-saver, you will not regret it.

This is the first high-speed photo scanner I have had. Needless to say there is no comparison of how much faster this will scan your photo collection compared to the traditional all-in-one copier/scanner. Installation of the scanner software was straight forward and easy to do. Note that instructions are to install the scanner software before the scanner is connected to the computer. The scanner can be connected via USB or wirelessly. I chose to connect via USB. The design of the scanner itself is quite nice with flip out trays and the scanner footprint is fairly small. The build quality seems nice. As many as 36 photos can be scanned at a time. One has the option to store both a scan of the original photo and an automatically enhanced version of the photo. The Epson FastFoto software also allows one to manually edit a photo with fairly standard tools to crop, rotate, enhance, etc... I scanned 850 photos and only had two jams to unclear. I think this was either two photos sticking together or a bend in the photo. I was very pleased with the speed and efficiency of this scanner. Generally, I'd say the scan quality was very acceptable and in most cases the enhanced photo was improved from the original. I did get an occasional pop up window that reminded me to routinely clean the scanner for best results. I could find no information in the documents included with the scanner, but did find a video online showing how to clean the scanner. It seemed pretty logical and easy for one to do with the provided cleaning cloth. The scanner also comes with a plastic, carrier sheet for any individual items that may be more fragile or old and in need of added protection during scanning. I also got a message (yellow triangle symbol) in the FastFoto software that said adding more files may degrade the performance and for best results to save them to a different folder. My current folder had 1700 photos in it. Aside from this message I felt the software was easy to understand and use. It has the ability to share photos via email, Facebook, Google Drive and Dropbox. Bottom line, if you have a lot of photos boxed away that you need to bring into the digital age this is the way to go. The speed at which the FastFoto scans pictures is just phenomenal. The price is somewhat higher than I'd like to see, but it's an item that could be shared by multiple family members to make this cost more reasonable.

Right out of the box this product has easy to follow instructions on the "start here" paper to download and install drivers, also helpful instructions on how to connect to the wireless network, which my laptop easily found and paired with by using the wi-fi connect button located on the scanner. A usb cord is provided just in case there is no wi-fi, or user preference. I am amazed by the speed the scanner takes to scan photos, documents and the resolution levels which range from 300 dpi (takes 1 sec.), 600 dpi (takes 3 sec) and 1200 dpi (takes 10 sec). This Wireless High-speed Scanning System has a setting for panoramic and instant photos, which are great for Polaroids, and can scan up to 36 photos at a time depending on size and thickness. The scanner feed functioned properly every time and had no jam or scanning feed issues. I save receipts and lots of old photos that I am wanting to save digitally onto google Onedrive and can be uploaded to Dropbox as well as enhance when scanning, so this Epson FastFoto Scanner System is perfect and ideal for my needs! The provided carrier sheet included is best when used for protecting wrinkled, fragile, old and valuable pictures & documents.\r\n I like that Epson included a downloadable pdf format user manual that can be printed too (120 pages long) to get more information and details of Epson FastFoto scanner and advanced settings. Although I miss having physical installation cd discs, I think it's easier having the link to download everything the scanner needs and can set itself up.Despite having the auto rotation checked in advanced settings, when editing scanned pictures, I still had to click the rotate twice to get pictures positioned upright, but other than that I love how much better looking, brighter with higher clarity and image quality resulting from every scan! I wanted a scanner that was both fast and had good quality for personal family photos. \r\n I purchased this based on reviews from multiple sources over many weeks. \r\nIt has scanned over 2500 photos of various sizes. \r\nI had only 4 jam errors and 10 double feed errors but follow the simple instructions and you are back to work in seconds. \r\n \r\n Before you start, please read the instructions they have a lot of info. Then run a few test scans of different sizes and types. ie. double sided, single sided, poloroids. \r\n \r\nMOST IMPORTANT thing to do, organize your photos before you start scanning. Your job will be much easier and faster. \r\n \r\nA popup will remind you to clean the scanner. \r\nGo to the EPSON website and they have detailed instruction how to complete this. \r\nI personally use canned air to clean the rollers and the included lint free cloth to clean the scanner glass. I have not seen any dust or streaks added by the scanner. Be careful to keep the air can upright and not to spray any residue into the scanner. \r\n \r\nI would and do recommend this to anyone with many old printed photos.

I have been scanning many old family pictures for a few years now. Started with a Canon LiDE 220 flatbed and that worked well until I was faced with a mountain of pictures still to do. Scanning on a flatbed can be quite tedious and I tired of the labour. I did some research and decided on the Epson FF-680W, mostly because of all the promises and that it is wireless. Ordered it through Amazon and it was here in days. Because I wanted to preserve all these old family pictures, many precious, dating back to the early 1900's, I was prepared to pay for the best scanner the market had. This is the One folks. It has only been 6 weeks and I have knocked off scanning as many pictures in that time as I did with the flatbed in a couple of years. Mostly because of the long, tedious time with the flatbed when you lose interest and months go by. Now, this is not to say the FF-680W is perfect. I still use the flatbed for scanning some hard card photos, newspaper clippings and some quirky items that the roll through Epson cannot handle. But, the Epson has never damaged anything to date. In fact, it seems it can't, no matter how delicate the original is. All in all I have come away from this with a great appreciation for the Epson FF-680W scanner. I just received in the mail today a custom made dustcover my Mum made at my request. Thanks Mum and thanks Epson. Keep up the good work.

I bought this to scan a lifetime of paper photos to digital - about 12000 photos. This is hands down one of the best and most impressive pieces of computer hardware I have ever owned. I am about 4000 photos into the project and very pleased. You just stack up similar sized photos in the hopper and let her go - at 300dpi it scans a photo per second, and at 600dpi (recommended) - it is about a photo every 3 seconds. Very fast. The software is very easy to use. The automatic photo enhancement, color correction, and red eye removal are equally as impressive. It rarely jams, and when it does - it is very easy to clear it and restart. It does not like thicker photos or poloroids. The colors and scan quality delivered are excellent. I compared them to my trusty Epson flatbed scanner and quality was equal. My only complaints are that the automatic photo orientation (vertical flipping) does not work at all, and some darker photos turn out with pronounced streaks with the enhnacement function turned on. If you have very large quantities of photos to scan - this is the only way to do the job. It also makes a very fast a reliable hopper fed paper document scanner as well. Epson gets a GOLD star for this one. It takes MUCH longer to remove the photos from the albums than it does to scan them!

I am upgrading from a Fujitsu ScanSnap duplex scanner that I bought in 2008. The Epson is about an inch bigger in every dimension, but otherwise similar in design. \n\nI bought this primarily to use as a document scanner, with a one-time need to digitize the hoard of family photos. Like the Epson Workforce series, the equivalent Fujitsus are only "ok" at photo scanning and my old one would jam on glossy paper. \n \nThe good: The Wifi was fairly easy to set up, and once it is scanning, it's fast! After you fiddle with the settings, you can get some great quality photos and documents. I'm very happy the lamp is LED and shouldn't get tired over time. The Epson hardware is overall fantastic, marred only by a flimsy/rattly catch tray. \n\nThe bad: The software is a mess. Epson is a printer company first and foremost... and it shows. There are at least four core software apps installed: Epson Event Manager, Epson ScanSmart, Epson FastFoto, and Epson Scan 2 Utility. I also have an Epson Scan 2 from my other Epson printer/scanner. Between the two devices, I have 13 icons under my Start Menu. \n\nRather than a single unified package, you are led to believe that this is a "photo scanner first, document scanner second". The scanner button's default setting is to launch FastFoto, and the other apps are not even mentioned in documentation. When I threw a paper document on the scanner and hit the button, I was actually angered at the poor quality result in FastFoto. I nearly returned this scanner until I dug around and found the other apps. \n \nEach app is optimized for certain features, and you must close one before launching another. It makes it slow and cumbersome. There is a several seconds' wait between hitting the scan button and the scanner starting (but once it gets going, it's speedy). Some apps have some settings, while other apps have similar-but-different settings. Epson ScanSmart forces you to navigate a menu to save after every scan. For documents, I ended up using the older "Epson Scan 2" app from my other printer - a clunkier UI but faster experience. \n\nThe silver lining is, I haven't hit any bugs or crashes yet. It's just a poor UX design. \n \nThe Fujitsu user experience is more unified. One software package. Save the settings first, press the button, scanner immediately runs, file is automatically saved. Repeat steps 2-4 to your heart's content. \n\nI am happy with this scanner overall, and it's a 3.5 of 5. Because of the photo capability, I will be keeping it and expect it to last a decade like my last one. I will be shopping around to see if there are better software packages that I can use it with.

I had been dreading digitizing numerous old/ancient photos due to the amount of time it would have taken on my flatbed scanner. This scanner is fast and can scan photos and document software almost any size. I've even digitized parking stubs. Nothing has been damaged and it takes me far longer to remove the photos from the books than to actually scan them. No complaints here.\n\nHowever, two things caused me to remove a star. Setup was not fun. While my competence is limited, I'm not a novice at this sort of thing. Never did get the Bluetooth to work so I'm using a cable. Not a big deal but it would have been nice. On there other hand, my nephew who is in IT has assured me that hooking up any printer or scanner is a task for anyone. Also, the included restoration software is OK but not great. Perhaps I was expecting too much? \n\nEven with my minor complaints, I'm very happy with the purchase.

I bought this to scan several boxes of family photos and the quality of the scans and the time make this a great purchase. I chose to scan images at the next to-highest dpi and each photo takes about 3 seconds to scan- much faster than a flatbed. Being able to stack up to 30 pictures is great. It makes the whole process very automatic.\n\nThe ability to simultaneously scan the front AND the back of the documents is awesome. It seems to be able to detect writing on its own and won't scan plain backs of photos. It did scan the backs of photos that had branding on the photo paper, but that was easy enough to delete afterwards.\n\nThe FastFoto software is decent, though it has some quirks with organization/file naming. I wish it was a bit more manual in that regard.

Let me just say I’m going into extra detail on this review. Bottom line, the scanner is great and does what it needs to do. I’ve scanned about 1000 pictures and they’ve all come out really nice. I’m not sure it can get much better for the price you’re paying without having some serious equipment. That being said… the software for this thing was a real pain. It just feels dated and customer phone support from Epson was really rude and literally hung up on me. I kept getting an error (included on the pictures) however after many hours of dealing with the issue and reinstalling windows I was able to finally get the software installed. All in all the scanner is pretty good, the software needs work, Epson phone support is a joke.

Bought this along with an ES-60W scanner to arvhive boxes of old photos and I'm so glad I did. This machine is absolutrly amazing and fast. It scans both sides of the photo if it detects information, otherwise it skips the backside. It came with a carrier sheet to use with frayed, odd sized, turn clippings and etc..\r\nI highly recommend this scanner to anyone wishing to scan lots of photos. It has saved me many, many days of work due the speed and capability.\r\nThe only complaint, is that I wish you could change the file path and name descrioption from the scan button screen, rather than selecting Done andventering the settings option.\r\nI would also, suggest getting the ES-60W scanner for scanning photos to thick (Poloroid) or too small to feed through the FastFoto scanner. You'll thank me for it. I have over 6000 photos to archive.

Front and back scanning of photos of various sizes is handled quickly and efficiently. Software easily handles the naming structure for files, and image correction options make great improvements to faded photos. Using a flatbed scanner and swapping out a handful of photos per scan takes a lot of effort/ time but results in a better copy of a photo. Trade off in quality is not worth it if you are just doing a few photos ( under 30 or so), big jobs like tackling all your families photographic memories is where a device like this becomes necessary.

Very impressed! Took 20 minutes to unbox, read instructions, fire up, configure and start scanning. Like the handy protective sheet for delicate or tiny photos. I wasn't able to get the WiFi option to work. It wanted the 2GHz channel. I switched my Laptop to 2GZ and had the Router (LinkSys Velop mesh network) send out a ping for it. So, I used the handy USB cable and I was off and running! Did 400 in one sitting. Got way more to go. I love the enhanced feature. I also scanned a couple at 1200 dpi so I can enlarge them later. Buy it!

Somewhere you have shoeboxes, reused christmas gift boxes, drawers, bags, and tons of other containers full of physical printed photos. But you never look at them the way you do the ones you have on your iPhone or other device. Enter the Epson FastFoto FF-680W and for far cheaper than any service (assuming you have a lot of photos) you can do a roll at a time, right at your own desk, keeping everything local. To know all these memories now won't ever be lost is a great feeling, plus it is great fun going through all the old pictures with new and younger members of our family. I can't recommend it enough- we watched slideshows all easter and didn't even have to get out the old projector lol! This photo is from 1993 and looks perfect, even on the fast scan setting.

Wifi problems. If too far away from router (20 ft and 1 wall) wifi appears to work but scans take 5 minutes each. Hidden menu items: some setting menus are located in drop down list boxes. I've never seen anyone do that before.\nWorks great once you get it set up right.\nLo res documents are about a page a second. Higher res takes several seconds. Then there is processing time to save a pdf document. Double feed detection worked very well. I preferred color images scanned as documents rather than photos.

Scans stacks of clean standard size photos very fast doublesided 1/sec using fastfoto app. Also scans and feeds letter sized documents with document scanner app. Works best through usb cable to computer. Mobile apps or trying to scan over wireless network not so good. Similar to what many medical offices use to scan ids and documents but supposed to have softer rollers designed for photos vs paper. Gamechanger for scanning. Unknown how well this works over time.

I, like many of us, have a ton of photos from 1950s (parents time) till almost late 80s and needed a simple to use, high speed and smart photo scanner. Was tired of 1 picture at a time scanners that do not work with OSX and general purpose scanners that are dumb when it comes to high volume photo scanning. I finally have my problem resolved with the FF-680W. what I love is that it can handle paper scanning A4, B*, Legal and a ton of other sizes gracefully. Helps me get rid of a whole filing cabinet of files. Great job Epson. Love you guys for this product. This is now part of my dream home office set up. Sits pretty with the small foot print and is available on demand working on USB and wireless .... great product. glad I bought it....

I have been using this now for over a month and can't believe how easy it is to use! It works on all size photos. It really does a wonderful job. There are a couple of things I haven't figured out but hopefully will. I may need to read up on it more. The biggest issue for me has been when I have to use the “protector” sheet, not sure of the real name on photos that maybe damaged. They show up very small on the screen? Not sure why?\nThe other issue for someone could be that you can only use this on your iPad or phone, as it requires an app. So not on your laptop. \nOverall, I would definitely recommend this.

I can’t describe how amazing this product is. It is extremely fast with scanning! I scanned about 40 photos is 20 seconds. What’s also amazing is the quality and how it enhances the photos. \nIt also comes with a sleeve for old sensitive photos. \nWhich is how I was able to scan a photo from 1914 that was about to fall apart. \n\nPhotos that were orange tinted (older photos) change to actual colors! Just look for yourself at the screenshot from my computer. It also will scan the original without enhancement and one with so you can decide which one you like. \n I love love love this scanner. Completely worth the price.

Based on numerous reviews we chose the FastFoto FF-680W to scan and archive 40 years of personal photos. The scanner was quick and easy to set up and interfaces well with a MacBook Pro and iPad. The Epson FF software does an adequate job of enhancing to either a jpg or tiff file. We chose to save both the original and enhanced scan to an external drive and keep an enhanced copy on a Cloud drive. The software allows you to set up folders and then names files names by date or assigned subject. We're about 3,500 photos into the project and so far the Epson 680W has definitely made the project go smoothly.

I bought this scanner to help scan thousands of my mother-in-laws photos. So far it has been quick and efficient, with scanning groups of photos in seconds. It will also scan the front and back of the photo if there is writing on the backside. The computer app is easy to use and will make sub files for the photos which helps organize photos. I've like the feature that will enhance photos that are faded or need color correction. The quality of scan of the photos are also great! It's been a great investment and will save me a lot of time without cutting the quality of the photos.

The Epson was very easy to setup and connect the my Wi-Fi.\r\nThe software is simple to understand and start scanning immediately!\r\nThis scanner can scan both sides a a page at the same time which makes scanning super fast.And scans are saved in PDF format\r\nIt took 11 seconds to scan 8 pages - both sides\r\nwith pictures, It took 25 seconds to scan 8 pictures at 200dpi\r\nOverall I really like this scanner\r\n*This is a review for the Epson Fastfoto FF680W Wireless High-speed Photo and Document Scanner system that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review*

Love this scanner!!! Very fast, and does a great Job of storing the pics. I also like how it also does the back side at the same time. For the most part I can rotate the pics that are up side down or sideways, but there are some that I cannot. It will rotate them and a second later they will go back to where they were. For the most part I would highly recommend this scanner. I have scanned in over 6000 so far and still have more to go. It takes longer to sort through the ones I want to scan and organize them first than it takes to scan them in.

Scans photos well. Enhancements once set allow for restoration, brightness, clarity.\r\nWhat isn't so great is the operations manual. Epson is so busy covering its legal backside, they left out the cataloging and movement of pictures to another folder or location.

Absolutely amazing! Scan process is the the easiest part. If you have loose photos not in albums you can scan your entire life in a few hours at the medium quality that is unbelievable on screen compared to the naked eye looking at the photo. The software names the photo saves the original, an enhanced copy and if anything is identified on the back such as a date or a comment it will scan that too and name it similar to the photo name. It has been a very productive and satisfying walk down memory lane.

My Epson SCANNER is PERFECT !!! I have already scanned over 1000 pictures..Can scan a pack of 30 pictures in 10 Seconds.. it's FAST..I had my Forever Cloud Teacher INSTALL the Scanner to my Laptop for me and TEACH me how to Load the Pictures ☺️This Scanner is what I NEEDED years ago ESPECIALLY for Loading Packs of Photos 3x5's !!!!! it's GREAT..My Teacher let me try her Epson SCANNER and I was SOLD..I just showed my Friend and she is Buying a Scanner also ..Great Product 🏆Linda Heinen 😊

I've had this less than a month, and have scanned in over 10,000 photos. A lot of the photos are old and faded. There are settings that upgrade the resolution and correct red eye. I chose the mid-level 600 dpi feature; the photos looked new. Organizing was very easy. I could lable groups; some of the groups were over 500 photos. The scanning went very fast based on the volume of photos I scanned. The scanner was well worth the money. I've raved about the Epon FastFoto to friends and family.

The software can be a little challenging. It could be better to identify between documents and photos. Once you start scanning you will not be disappointed in the price.
