This Amana range came the day before Thanksgiving so it was put to the test cooking all day, and it did well. I did the installation myself and the conversion to propane was pretty straightforward with the included propane orifices. Flame adjustment on the burners was also simple. \r\n\r\nWe used the oven a lot to bake our tofukey, pies, roast vegetables, squash etc and all the food turned out perfect. The oven was set for 450 degrees, and I used my infrared temperature sensor and the oven tray was a bit over 450 so I have confidence that the oven temperature itself is accurate. Using the oven controls is intuitive and the oven got up to operating temperature relatively quickly. The burners light quickly and the flame is steady. My wife absolutely LOVES the oven door. The viewing area is massive compared to our old stove, and when you turn on the oven light you can see everything on both racks perfectly. Also, the oven door is very light and it's easy to open and close. \r\n\r\nSome things Amana could do better on:\r\n\r\n1. The broiler compartment is accessible with a door that simply hinges down - there is no broiler 'drawer' that slides out so, you have to physically get down to look in the broiler or carefully slide the rack out to see your food.\r\n\r\n2: Using the burners and the oven at the same time had the burner flames dancing about a bit, something my old stove didn't do, so I think Amana didn't use as much insulation as they could have here.\r\n\r\n3. The steel burner grates are not the best. One of ours was warped and every time you walked by the stove it rattled. I knew that would drive me bonkers so I tried to straighten it out by bending it which I was successful in but by doing so the enamel cracked. That tells me it was warped even before it was finished - Amana should reject grates that don't sit flat. Also, you can see in my 5th photo that the enamel is already scraping off the grate from sliding a pot on it.\r\n\r\n4. Burners are not labeled. My wife kept asking me 'which one is the power burner?' and that would be a super easy thing for Amana to remedy.\r\n\r\n5. There was dent in the stainless-steel control panel as seen in my 6th picture, not a biggie because you can only see it from a certain angle but Amana Q.C. should have caught that.\r\n\r\n6. There were two loose black screws in the bottom of the shipping box - did they just get dropped in at the factory? Again, just makes me wonder about quality control.\r\n\r\n7. Only two oven racks. If you want to broil you need to remove a rack from the oven.\r\n\r\nAs far as reviews complaining that it shows fingerprints, it's a black stove. Our last stove was also black, so we are used to cleaning the enamel surface on a regular basis, it's not a big deal. \r\n\r\nAll of that said, this is a good-looking gas range that functions well, doesn't have lots of electronic bells and whistles to break, and costs hundreds of dollars, not thousands. We're looking forward to many more meals prepared on this range in the years to come. If you're looking for a gas range at this price point, I'd definitely recommend it.

Reviewed on www.homedepot.com·worldsbestcook
Oven Gasket Keeps Heat Where It Belongs! This model actually has a suitable gasket (seal) around the inside of the oven that keeps heat where it belongs -- inside the oven -- not on the door or door handle like other (lower-priced) models. The door is sturdy and well constructed and therefore is superior to the many other models that are more cheaply priced, but have very thin doors and flimsy rubber gaskets. Look carefully at the photos of any stove you are considering buying to ensure you're getting what you want and need. If you bake a lot, pay more for your stove and you'll be more likely to enjoy it long-term.\r\n\r\nI wanted stainless steel in my kitchen and thought this model, with the black accents, would be nice. What it has turned out to be is similar to owning a black car. You cannot very easily maintain a clean appearance with black surfaces so I find myself bothered by the constant 'messy look' of this stovetop. The burners heat up fast and most food cooked in my ceramic cookware burns even on medium heat. I am definitely having to adjust my cooking style and timing after using an 15-year-old GE Profile stove previously. The oven heat seems to match my recipes so far in terms of timing. About the oven, this model came with only two racks and they are cheaply made (in my opinion). My old stove had three racks and they were solid steel. Manufacturers like Amana are making products cheaply and cutting corners. I wanted a storage drawer on the bottom and this unit has one, but it is low-gauge metal and not very sturdy. The top edge of the drawer was not smoothed (deburred) in the factory and I fear I will cut my hand on it, which makes me not inclined to use it. I do appreciate the glass door and oven light, as well as the pre-settings for heating the oven. I would have liked to have the oven temperature display and clock display in separate windows, but at least you can toggle between them when you have food in the oven. There is also a digital timer that uses the same display window. I would have preferred separate displays for each. \r\n\r\nAbout the stovetop, my advice is to get burner covers, especially if you have cats that climb on counters at night -- you will forever be wiping up cat hair. I like that all four burners come with separate grates, making clean-up easier. That said, this model does not allow you to remove the actual burners themselves (the silver-colored pieces from which the gas emanates). They are screwed down, which means you'll have trouble cleaning up spills. The grates and burner caps are removable and are uncoated. I am used to those being porcelain coated, so am wondering how easy they will be to clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've been using our new range for over 4 months now and really enjoy its features. The oven does a wonderful job turning out our Sunday roasts, my granddaughter's birthday cake and even my homemade pizzas. Top of the range cooking provides even, thorough cooking that's definitely faster than my last range. I love how easily it all cleans up without the need for special, expensive cleaners. As much as we are content with our new range, there are 2 things that would make it perfect. I would have liked to have a light in the oven. And the stovetop grates definitely need to be improved. I don't mind one grate per side. However, the fact that there's no stable way to keep pots and pans from slipping off the grate during the cooking process is scary. If the cookware gets too close to the edge, it will slip off the grate. At the very least, it could cause a huge clean up job and loss of food. But in the worst case scenario, a child could get hurt. That's why I couldn't give a 5 star rating. It's a shame really because it's a really good range for those of us that no longer want to contend with all the "bells and whistles" of the ranges of recent years, that fail in 3 or so years including all the big names!. (Hmmm, done on purpose?) We are happy with our purchase and if and when we should need to buy another, Amana is the brand we'll be looking at. But that might take a while. Thanks!

My wife bakes a lot and I broil a lot.\r\nOur previous range was an Amana similar model that we were very satisfied with for 10 years.\r\nAnd after having the new range for a year we have some pros and some cons.\r\n\r\nOn the con side: \r\n*The lettering on the control knobs is hard to read. White letters on a stainless steel like finish makes the lettering invisible.\r\n*Oven has hot spots depending on rack location. When baking it's a trial and error situation to determine the best rack position. \r\n*Does not broil well. It appears the broiler element does not generate sufficient heat to broil rapidly even with the rack at top position. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Amana range was delivered on 6/18/25. I was disappointed that there was no manual that came with it to guide us on how to use the range and to answer any questions. There was just a page that only indicated where things are. \nI also don't know how to get the stainless steel clean. I have fingerprints on the lower drawer from the first day when I looked at it. I used dish soap and water - nothing happened. Any thoughts on how to clean the stainless steel? \nThe oven seems to cook perfectly. The only problem is when we set the timer to cook, the oven doesn't shut off when the cooking is done. We have to shut it off manually. Why? The burners work well.\nI haven't used the self-cleaning feature yet. I found that this model is almost exactly the same as my son's GE gas range.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I 've only had it a 2 weeks so I really don't think its fair to comment on the product, So far its nice and simple to operate, because it is a simple oven with no clock , no timer, etc. The one complaint I had was the stove top grates on it were very slippery. I could see how easy it would be for me to bump into a pan and it would fly off the stove. I did some research and some guy said he sanded the top of the grates slightly, being careful not to sand too much and that solved the problem. So I was hesitant doing that, so I sanded the bottoms of my pots and pans with 150 grit sand paper. That worked great with out damaging the finish of the grates. Its just a basic stove and easy to operate. It looks nice.

He calibrated the oven temperature which runs 50* low and I just set the temperature up by 50* every time I use it. Works great! I love the fact that this is a simple range without all the bells and whistles. Simple and straight forward. So much less to “go wrong”. And the burner grates are what sold me before I even knew the reasonable price of this range. I did not want to deal with the oversized grates that are now on most stove tops. These are easy clean up for a part that catches a lot of mess. I cook a lot and am so glad I chose this range.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased our Amana gas range about 1 month ago. We selected it because of its simplicity and clean look. In general, we like it and it serves our needs. There are a couple flaws with the stove in my opinion. First, there are 2 large burners on the top and in the front. They are too hot for most things and require us to use a simmer ring. It would have been better to have only one of these large burners and 2 medium burners along with the smallest burner. Second, the racks in the stove aren't as stout as they could be. I noticed this when roasting a 21 lb. turkey; the rack sagged a good bit. For most applications they are sufficient, but it would be nice if they were built stronger.

My only issues are with the low setting of the burner flames, low setting is not very low and no way to adjust it. When using the oven and then using the timer or turning on the oven light, an “err” message & F1 will appear shortly after turning off the oven. I have to push stop every few seconds to remove the error messages as it will beep and the error messages will return. I didn't notice this until the initial 48 hours to report anything not working had passed. Be sure to check out these features as soon as you can after purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] OK for the price. The big burner does heat a large pot of water quickly. I do like the quick set oven temps. The oven temp reports the current temp as it heats up so you can tell how fast it's heating up. \n\nA few things to watch for. While the big burner puts out a lot of BTUs, you can't really turn it down a lot. LOW on this burner is almost HIGH on the small burner. So if you need to bring to boil and then turn down to simmer, you'll need to move the pot to another burner (not a bad thing, just watch out).\n\nThe stove grates, where the pans sit, are not flat. Smaller sauce pans can wobble, slide and even spin if you are stirring something and not holding the handle. I had a small pan slide off and dropped my breakfast on the floor. Heavier pots are not an issue but I don't want to cook everything in my cast iron pots and pans. In general, they just feel flimsy. Same for the flat caps on the burners. They are fairly thin and a bit rough on the edges. They feel like in I drop one, it will break (so don't drop them!). \n\n Does not come with a broiler pan (I kept my old one) or the rack to put it on. You need to take 1 of the racks from the oven. \n\nThere are a few more things but those would be nit-picking. The ones above I consider to be the main factors driving my 3 star rating.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced a 20-year-old Kenmore gas stove.\nProbably won't ever use the self-cleaning function but the extra insulation around the oven seems to keep the temperature more accurate and less heat escaping into the kitchen.\nBoth front burners are high heat, and I wish the medium burner was at the front. Water boils very rapidly on the front burners but you have to watch cooking on the front burners very closely or you can over cook. I haven't used the small burner yet. It weighed quite a bit more than the old Kenmore and seems well-built.
