I had a GE RB790 and the burners on top heated up rapidly for a glasstop to the number I chose with the knob. This thing after six minutes on five for two cups of water and one cup of oatmeal, is not bubbling, begining to cook/boil. I takes much longer. My old range wore out the burners and would not boil a large pot of water, this one is new and will work very well up near high, but take much too long on lower settings. I may have to get used to starting out on high and then setting the timer I have and the temp on the stovetop to get how much time it take to do oatmeal with this stovetop, but at least it is new and I can scortch the corn meal off the bottom, but this stove tend to burn everything. I have listened to other people I know and they say all the new stoves are this way now, the glass top might have got thicker or the thermostat is not "smart" enough to target the correct temp that I choose with the temp knob. I hope I get this figured out, but in order not to burn I better expect three time as much time to heat up. I like the extra watts when it comes to a large stock pot heat up, such as a gallon in a five gallon pot. Expect to re-train yourself.\nI have posted three pics and the first is backwards from ten minutes, reads 2:02 (8 min) about 170F. Then next pic is 10 min, not boiling. #3 pic is timer reset counting backwards to 4:02 (18minutes) and light bibbles as to boil some, ready for oat meal at about 16-18 minutes on temperature knob setting of 5, five. This seems to me at least twice as long and more like three times as long.\nSolution was to preheat the stove top on 10 for a full minute then as I did yesterday to cook hotdogs, lower the temp to about 3.5 to 4 and dont turn back up or I did burn them.

This is my first time using a glass top stove and everything heats up really fast. I love the extra large burner that can be made smaller, it’s so perfect for my large cast iron. The only complaint I have is that every little smudge or crumb shows up. I’ll wipe it down and by the time it dries I see streaks. It’s pretty frustrating. I’m hoping there’s just a learning curve and I’ll figure out the secret. lol oh I also don’t like how easy it is if pans get slid that it makes a gritty noise. But it honestly is a great stove for cooking and baking. I would give it 5, but the noise and smudging would have me reconsidering if I were the one making the next purchase and I feel like buyers should know in case these are things that’d bother them.

It is ok, but not great. In general it cooks fine in the oven and burners are ok, but slow on lower heat. The safety heat sensing burners are annoying. They ding like an old bicycle bell every time you move. I do a lot of canning and had to change the large burner coil out for my old one since it wouldn't heat the canner to boiling due to the sensor. The bottom drawer is much smaller than my old model of the same stove. This is horrible since now I can't easily fit my 16" pizza pans in it. The door feels cheap and light and sounds that way when you close the oven door. The enamel finish is not going to last very long. I've only used this a few months and the white enamel paint is already coming off under the burners.

Overall the stove is very good and I am pleased with the purchase. There are a couple of things that annoy me, hence the 4 stars. The bottom drawer has a large capacity, however the metal used on the front of the drawer is flimsy. It will dent very easily. One of the small coils doesn't sit all the way down easily. It's catching on something and I have to really fiddle with it to get it down flush. This makes me dread taking the coil out to clean the drip pan. The knobs are a little tight, but I don't mind that. The protector covering the clock display is also very delicate. I'm really hoping I don't accidentally push through one day. You can see the waves in the protector for the display...it's not smooth.

Allowing the ability to turn on the oven from a device is incredibly useful- of course you have the ability to also enable and cancel (turn off) the oven, light, timer, and cook time as well. Also with location allowed, you’ll never leave with the oven on again. I believe this is true with the stovetop as well, though you must manually turn the knobs at the appliance, you are alerted that it’s still on when you’re no longer at the same location (just outside the home). Very cool features! Also place leftover oven dish in and begin reheating when you’re ready, or have a cake or brownies ready to go and just start the oven with a cook time for auto-off upon cook time completion.

I love the range except reading the stovetop controls on the back of the range. The stainless glares too much and I have to move my head about for them to show up. I'm considering making some stickers for each of the settings. It is hard to see if I'm selecting the large or small burner option; quite a problem. \nI had another problem with the controls. Most controls go from lowest to highest setting as do some of these. However, on other burners, the highest setting is right next to where it is shut off. I thought I had turned off the stove top, but had stopped at that last place and burned up a pan. Consistency would be safer as would from low to off. Not intuitive.

I have had this range in place for two weeks. I wanted basic functionality and minimal electronics. This has it. I expect it to be durable and reliable for as long as I need it to be. Also cheap to repair if something does eventually wear out. GE is a known-good appliance manufacturer, and they've had this design figured out for a long time. I got it in black. A friend warned me that it will show every smudge. It's true, but I don't mind. Polishing it up is very little extra work, and it looks great when done. There are a lot of negative reviews out there about the sensi temp burner coils. I haven't done a huge amount of cooking yet, but they have functioned normally for me every time thus far. All of my cookware has flat bottoms, and they say that's necessary. I can recommend this unit for anyone who doesn't need fancy features or a self-cleaning setup.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stove is a replacement for my last GE electric stove that worked great for 23 years. I replaced it because all lettering on the high back control panel had been washed off for many years, and the top was a little scratched. My new one has a large instant-hot burner where my old stove had a medium sized burner. I miss the medium size. Also, the control knobs on my old stove were heavy, solid black plastic. Easy to clean. The new ones are cheap, lightweight gray plastic with a cheap chrome like film over them. One knob cover film ripped upon installation. GE sent me a full set of the cheap knows for free. I wish I had the old black knows back. Also, the crisper doesn't seem amy different than using the broil function. Otherwise it is a good working stove top and oven.

I just bought this range and had it delivered; it works great but my one complaint has to do with the fact that it wasn't clear that when you order an appliance like this, an electrical cord does not automatically come with it and there are no suggestions to add it on if you're not having it installed by the delivery driver. I understand the reasoning for not having an electrical cord come with the purchase automatically but there should be items listed below that you can add on which there currently is not.

The oven/stove is nice, however if you cook at anything below 400 it seems that the food doesnt get completely done even when cooked for longer than what it's supposed to be cooked. The front right burner will not allow you to simmer. If something calls to bring to a boil and reduce heat, the heat will not reduce..it just stays so hot it boils...even for several minutes after turning that burner completely off. Have not had the opportunity to use it yet. Installation would have been easier if the knockout ring were larger to accommodate the strain lock, and there is only a quick guide and installation guide included, nothing with all the features, which I presume I'll have to download because it wasn't included. I researched for months before deciding on this model for the easy removal element cover and the straight oven racks that will allow me to put larger pans all the way to the back of the oven.

Works great! Love abilty to warm in oven and on top. I haven't tried out all the features for the oven yet, so cannot comment on anything except roast, bake and broil (which I am happy with!). Air fryer is on my list to try soon.. but not yet. The stove top works great, but once something spills over while cooking, or heaven forbid someone drags a pot or pan across it its hard to recover the original beauty....To me...glass tops are too delicate for hard work.

It came today, September 24, 2024, and I gave it the hard-boiled egg test. I boiled the egg for 10 minutes and it was the same as before with the regular coils. My wife came home, cooked a meal and that was great too, she didn't see any difference. Maybe it's because we don't usually put the burners on high anyway, maybe just on boiling eggs. We haven't tested the oven yet since it only arrived today. We wanted a simple stove, the least electronic panel as possible. There are no surge protectors for stoves, perhaps that's why reviews I've seen on all electronic control panel stoves get a poor rating. They have surge protectors for TVs and electronics, why not for stoves as well since they're becoming more electronic?

I just purchased my new electric oven. I’ve never had an electric glass top. The only reason I bought one was to stop from cleaning all the grill too much work so far we only had ours for maybe a month I really like it. We bought this range July 2026. Functionally, it is really nice. We don't buy appliances with a lot of bells and whistles and this one fits what we were looking for. I am rating it a four because when the oven is on and in the higher temps, the front outer rim of the stovetop gets extremely hot. Not just warm, but really too hot to touch. Bad design? We no longer have small children, but if I did I would be concerned with this model.

I like my new range so far. It's very very similar to my previous Whirlpool range of 30 years which took a turn. Only thing is the large burners do not sit flush and flat with the stove top and wiggle. The small burners are tight and sit flush. One small burner, front left does not heat up as fast as the others. It's a day old so I'll be calling service. Otherwise I like it. Simple and it will serve our needs. Thank you.

The air fryer setting on this is an absolute joke. It takes double the time or more of my countertop version and doesn't make anything crispy but some of the smaller French fries. Chicken? Soggy. Taquitos? Might as well microwave them. Pizza pockets? Don't bother. And yeah, I got the special "air fryer tray"... it absolutely doesn't help and makes a mess. Just very unimpressed overall.

Just a couple of weeks into owning this and for the most part I am happy with the purchase. I like the feature allowing one of the burners to be both a small and large size burner. It allows you to choose the size requirement with one control by using the same control knob. My only complaint would be the storage compartment is a little hard to get on track if you fully remove it.

Difficult to keep top looking clean and shining. Works great but I can see where someone could get burned by a hot eye because there isn't a light on warning on the top surface. There is a warning on the operating panel but most people won't look at the panel before putting their hand on the stove top or setting something on a hot eye which might melt possibly ruining the eye.

We just recently received our new range. Have not used it a lot yet. So far I'm pretty happy with it but I wish the display would show the time remaining while it's timing. I love the appearance but can be difficult to remove/clean grease marks from cook top. The preheat is fast and oven seems to bake nicely. Love the convection. Heat on top burners seems to regulate well.

A good range with no extra electronics to go bad. However, the oven was not calibrated to the correct temperature. There are instructions to adjust the temperature, but it is a trial by error. I believe this should have been part of the set up and installation that you pay for extra.
The top surface is smooth textured so hard to stop from smudges and fingerprints.

Good design - there's a burner size for every purpose, controls are easy to understand and use, cleanup is also pretty easy. The oven heats up quickly and is nice and big. I bake sourdough so the temperature control is important and seems well regulated, and the convection feature is effective too. It's wonderful to have an air fryer built in, as well.

It's hard to replace a range you have used and loved for almost 20 years. Things have changed and once you reach a certain age its not easy to give up the familiar. The range is beautiful. The only thing that frustrates me is that you have done away with white tops which my GE Profile had. I'm going to pick myself up and learn how use my new GE Range.

I had Home Depot install and the gentleman did it within minutes. It was a quick plug in outlet. as instructed I turned on the oven for 1 hour at 350 degrees before use, very minimal chemical smell came out of it. Im doing a 4 stars , as I felt that the top burn is very easy to scratch make sure to use a stainless steel both pan to avoid scratching.

The Stove works well with the other GE Refrigerator I purchased from Home Depot at an earlier time. Easy to use & clean which is a big plus. Would of gave it 5 Stars on the review but I am not happy that the front slide drawer on the bottom of the Stove is not the same color of Stainless Steel as the top portion. This range replaces our 5 yr old GE Range (glass on door broken). Controls a little different and takes time to adjust. So far the range works great as does the oven. SADLY, we never thought to check the size of the storage drawer. It is SMALLER and my pans no longer fit!!! Who's idea to shrink the drawer. Crisper not needed; drawer is.

The no preheat is option is awesome. It looks great and appears to work well, so far. Not over impressed with cleaning the top though. It immediately stained after first use. It was just boiling water that splattered on to the top. Besides that, it streaks when you clean it after typical use. Looking forward to trying the other features.

The glass cooktop is difficult to clean. No matter what I do it is tough to get rid of pot scratch marks on the textured cooktop surface and fingerprints on the cooktop. The black shiny color highlights every tiny smudge.\nI am unhappy with this aspect and would have bought a different range had I known of this in advance.
