This tile is absolutely gorgeous and ties together perfectly my bluish-grey counter tops and pinkish-neutral floor tiles; however, ... As other people have said, this tile isn't going to stay up using the adhesive backing only. It's obvious why: even though the backing is thick, this tile is still too heavy. I had the installer use thin-set mortar with the adhesive backing. I recommend doing the same. It's a bit awkward to install the tile with the backing still on because the backing is thick. Perhaps, a better backing could have been used if the manufacturer required the tiles to be installed using thin-set mortar. I don't understand why the manufacturer is selling this tile as peel-and-stick anyway. The difficulty with installing this tile is not with the thin-set. It's with cutting the tile to fit around outlets. This tile can't be cut with scissors like the typical peel-and-stick back-splash. The next issue is with the fact that the tiles are very brittle. These tiles come in roughly 1/2 foot by 2 feet sheets. About a third of the sheets had broken tiles in them when I opened up the boxes, and the breaks went right down the middle at about 1 foot. It's obvious that these sheets should have been made in 1/2 foot by 1 foot sheets. I ended up exchanging a whole box of tiles in which every sheet had broken tiles in them. In conclusion, this tile is not the typical peel-and-stick back-splash. It shouldn't be sold as such. It should be packaged differently and sold as grout-less. The advantage to installing this type of tile over regular tile is that you don't need to grout it. I sealed the tile with liquid sealer because the tile is porous. It's easy to do. Just use a paint brush and "paint" on the sealer.\r\n\r\nPlease note that I gave 5 stars for the quality because the quality is excellent. It's how the tiles are packaged that is bad.

I bought this ledger stone to cover a fireplace surround. The ledger was shipped well to the store and so far no broken pieces. The corner pieces for this didn't look that good. Some left reviews where the color didn't match. Plus they were very much more expensive. So, I bought more of these 6" x 24" pieces and cut miter joints on the tile saw for the corners. It looks much better. The price of the stone is a bit expensive at $7.83/sq. ft and I was out of town installing this and looked online in case I needed another box and it was listed over $10 sq. ft in the Vegas area. I would have thought there would be more continuity on prices. For this and having to make my own corner pieces I subtracted one star. The product itself though looks good so far for what I've completed.

Loved the color and the texture. However, quality control could be improved. Some tiles had extensive black marks and those are not stone varieties. Those marks are like straight marks from a permanent marker or a machine that was use to cut the stones. Ended up throwing away 3-4 tiles (almost a box) because of the marks. Also, some times had poor quality control with the glue. It was all over some tiles and highly visible. We ordered a pallet and threw away 1 box because of poor quality control but the project came out looking great. Thus, I recommend ordering extras if you want a flawless appearance for your project....because some ideals will be far from acceptable. **There is no shipping complaint. There’s a complaint about quality control.**

We are thrilled with this product. Easy to cut with our tile saw. We installed ourselves under a kitchen bar and it looks fantastic. We decided to install backer cement board and then slate panels for added support for the weight. We ordered a pallet and had a handful of broken panels but we were able to use them for the most part for the pieces we needed to cut. We used grey thinset with this color slate, which was a good decision. Any mess on slate cleans up easily.\r\n One issue, being the nature of slate, some pieces had a tendencey to "flake" but we were able to use our thinset to put them back together. We are SO happy with this look and ease of installation. We are now planning a bigger exterior project in the spring with the same product.

Overall, the stone and finished project is beautiful! Used it to reface a 1950’s red brick fireplace surround. Marble is considered a “soft” natural stone, so note that it is difficult to work with, chips easily, and requires very careful cutting with a professional wet saw. Some of the glue joints were sloppy with poor alignment of the adjoining pieces. We purchased plenty extra to have enough quality pieces. I love our results, and would use it again, though my husband, who was tasked with cutting it, does not agree and has vowed to never tile with real marble again! :)

After much time spent searching for stone for front porch area, I decided on this. Kept going back to it, it just grabbed me! House paint SW agreeable gray, white trim with SW cracked peppercorn. My contractor love combo & did fantastic job applying stone, ( still in process) but already so beautiful! Neighbors stopping by, loving it. Different from all stone entrance in area! More contemporary look. So happy with the dimension it adds, going to paint door white, & ceil area to reflect light. Plus new sidelite that’ll add huge pop of color! Had to order more tile, as we kept increasing area of application! Wrapping front corner of house too! Beautiful yet subtle, sparkle throughout tile. Better than perfect! Will post another picture when completed!

This was my COVID 19 shelter-in-place project. Finished last week in April 2020. Color is great. I wouldn't say it's easy to install -- you need to know what you're doing. It's heavy, so you need a really good backer. I used 1/2 inch Hardee backer. My only reason for not giving five stars is that the travertine is VERY fragile. At least a half a dozen pieces fell apart in my hands as I carried them. But I was able to use the broken ones as row starters most of the time. Finished project is beautiful -- see photo.

Spent 3 Hours in the store opening every box and inspecting every tile by hand to find 12 Tiles. (Suggest you do the same)\r\n\r\nI didn’t have any issues cutting these on my wet saw… They are pretty soft tho at final push thru… so be mindful or you might get some funky edges…\r\n\r\nTiles went up OK and I’m pleased with the end result…\r\n\r\nHOWEVER a few hours after installation I have noticed PINK STAINS on some tiles that weren’t there before install.

Came out better than I could have hoped for, and I’m an intermediate DIY’er. Only problem I had was the 4 boxes of broken in half boxes. We preordered for curb side pickup and workers helped load so I know they didn’t break then, but couldn’t tell while they were still in the box. I would blame sloppy shipping to the store. Still used may of those pieces and made it work.

You must know ahead of time, working with stone is a chore. Your using a wet saw to make the cuts, and the glue that holds the sheets together doesn't do well when wet. So the do fall apart s little, but your able to use the pieces still. This turned out great. Once you understand stone crumbles a little, we were able to keep the project moving. We did it ourselves and it came out great! Would 100% buy this again, we had little to no waste at all, pieces that fell off or crumbled a little ended up being cuts we needed further in the project!More

The MSI STONE is a good looking stone. The problem is about 15% of the stone came in damaged! I would have to to say it was the way it was packaged. If it isn’t handled carefully it will break apart! Just take that into account when ordering - you are going to need more material than the normal 10% in losses! \nNot a Home Depot issue, it’s packaged poorly!

This is a handsome stone product. Easy to install and looks great. Just a note however - the tolerances are a bit loose. The installer will need to be vigilant to keep everything tight and level by use of a wet saw to trim a bit here and there. Additionally, I did not purchase the outside corner pieces, rather, I used a wet saw to create a miter. Discrepancies in the miter can be filled with a black caulk. This is a very forgiving material with easy installation that creates a very handsome finish.More

Great stone but be aware that every box did have at least one panel that was cracked. No really good way to ship this without some getting cracked. Buy some extra just in case. It would be nice to have the corners in stock but a little planning ahead and you would be set. Once its all up make sure to clean it and use a sealer to even out the color and it will match the grout. The picture is before the cleaning and sealing.

Many of the tiles were broke sure to poor packaging. Very frustrating. Had to purchase 4 extra boxes to make up for material loss. \r\nThose is a nice stone. And in saying that packaging better would have helped keep it nice.

Great, I had several pieces broken, but was able to cut most of then down into starer pieces. I put this down with the white thin set with a 1/2 trowel as my surface was not perfect. Required no grout which is nice. I'l add a pic. I also did a new chimney sleeve inside the chimney. Last year my wall caught on fire, so I tore it down to studs and went with durock, thinset and this rock. turned out good.

This stone is beautiful and with so much character. You will be amazed with the variety in each of the pieces really making a project look beautiful from far away or up close. I used it for a fireplace which did take a lot of patience as the stone would occassio aly tend to fall apart but once you learn the stone’s personality it is smooth selling. Would love for there to be corner pieces though.

Like the stone very much. Haven’t put up on walls yet. Going to use in kitchen as a BACK SPLASH. Husband has had MEDICAL ISSUES , so when we can get someone to help put the stone up it will be wonderful. We even went and purchased the saw that you need to cut the stone. All is sitting in are garage..SOME DAY WE WILL HAVE IT DONE It looks very nice, and will ,once it is up on the wall.More

We rented a wet saw that worked like a charm and we ran with it - my husband told me over and over we should not do it - and we had quotes of over 1500.00 without materials to build the whole boxed out space and we did it ourselves - Our guy at Home Depot in Muskegon Craig was fabulous and was always ready to answer all out questions. We also bought the fireplace online from Home Depot,.

Please excuse the mess in the kitchen but you can still see the wall I have some leftover , I'm going to put it outside , on the patio wall. It looks very nice on my wall!More

This stone is gorgeous, but WAY lighter than the picture online. Still ended up working for us, but not true to color. We were fortunate and didnt have any broken pieces

Great Product. Goes on really nice. Stone is kind of brittle and breaks real easy. I loved the look and only needed 15 sq ft but had to buy a pallet to get what I wanted.

I love our new update but my husband and I are No DIY people so I am going to give what we figured out to help those like us. Wetting the back to be able to move them a bit after putting on the wall seemed like it made them not stick as well. They are terrible to cut but it's possible. Keep all little pieces when cutting to fill in holes.

This is the thrift time using this product. Each time it gets easier and much better than the last time I used it. Don’t worry about not coming in corners you can fab them yourself and save yourself the cost of them from the manufacturer. 46 degree angles work amazing and look like you’re used corner ledgers from the manufacturer.

I have to admit that some came broken, actually a lot came broken. Bottom line, I was pleased with the way it looks that’s why I gave it 4 stars

The stones themselves are good quality. They come in large panels that interlock, which makes for quick install. Some of the stones are "softer" than others, and crumble or break more easily, but I was able to use most of the broken pieces as edge pieces without much waste. The stones are actually several varying shades of gray, which is why the 3-star rating. They are absolutely not all the same color, so if you had your heart set on white, I recommend a different product. However, I decided to whitewash the stones for the desired outcome. I included photos showing the gray tones of the rocks on the top half, against the whitewashed stones on the bottom half. I also included pictures of a fully finished, completely whitewashed side. Overall it’s a good product. \n\nI recommend inspecting the boxes carefully since the stones are natural and fragile to impact.
