I was really looking forward to having the Kenwood car radio with Apple play installed in my 2005 Pontiac Vibe. I love to listen to audio books, my Amazon music, and not to mention the hands free texting. It also has a nice sized display for displaying Google maps or Waze. One issue I have is that it freezes on me from time to time if I starting touching the display before it is fully loaded. Have to turn car off and restart to reset system. Another issue is adjusting the volume for the various GPS apps. Still working on figuring that out.

By far this stereo is amazing! Kenwood never seems to let me down! The Apple car play feature is very useful, especially when using Apple Maps. I recommend this car stereo to anyone looking to upgrade theirs. The slim body is something I like as well, which takes less space. For the price it’s a great budget radio that works really well, the touch response is very accurate unlike some other radios out there.

I purchased this product as an open box item. The price was right, it shipped quickly and arrived in good shape. I recently installed the unit and it works perfect. No complaints, no issues and the Apple Play works perfect. I recommend this product, it’s a great value for the price and it has outstanding features. Thank you.

This is a great double din digital media receiver that replaces the 2009 Kia Sedona factory radio perfectly. We bought it for Android Auto which seems to work great. We also had Best Buy add a backup camera which also works great.

Nice radio, but the display is not HD. Haven’t figured out how to customize the boot up screen to add vehicle logo. Doesn’t have front camera input, so when adding a front camera through the aux input, you lose the audio from the radio or other source.

Product is good and works great. The only flaw for me is that when you use the Apple car feature, the app freezes and closes sometimes. It’s an easy fix(disconnect and reconnect) but it’s does get annoying sometimes. Overall good product.

I have an older Ranger and it is a 5 speed. I needed something hands free and this radio is awesome as I use it with my iPhone with Apply Car Play. now my old truck is more advanced then my husbands Civic.

Great interface, very reactive to touch and smooth animation. Microphone stopped working a week after install, upgraded firmware and didnt fix it. Sound quality and looks save the day, hope I can figure out why the mic failed.

It’s a great system that has all the necessary technology for today! It also has an auxiliary port for easy access if Bluetooth is not operational. There is definitely a learning curve, but expected.

This radio is excellent.likes to jump time is the only issue but other wise it works great and it’s highly recommended

Really decent price (comparatively) for an Android Auto head unit. It's unfortunate that no manufacturer's have made affordable units that support the wireless version since all it really requires is a wifi chip and antenna...probably less than $10 to implement. One issue I ran into was that the time kept changing automatically. I had to go into the FM radio settings and disable RDS-CT to stop that. Drove me crazy for a week. Otherwise it's a perfectly acceptable cheap stereo. I wouldn't put it in a new bmw but it's just fine in my work truck. Paired it with a $25 backup camera and it works like a charm. The screen isn't high resolution, but it's sufficient. It's also glossy which isn't my favorite. Very reflective and I have to keep a microfiber cloth under the arm rest to wipe the screen free of dust and fingerprints every day. Surprising that they didn't use an oleophobic coating on it. Or at least a preapplied matte screen protector. But again, for the price, it gets the job done and it's much better than the OEM radio in most vehicles over 5 years old. Read More

I bought this radio for a 2008 Escape, simply to get Apple Car Play. The Car Play works well. It initially kept dropping the connection, but I changed cables, and also connected the phone via bluetooth as well, and suddenly all the dropped connections stopped. I also use the hands free phone feature, which also works pretty well. My only complaint is that the user interface is pretty awful. It takes a LOT of getting used to and a lot of experimenting to find all the hidden features and settings. A lot of the reviews here are mentioning the "jumping time" issue where the clock won't stay set. There is an easy fix, in a hidden setting. Open the radio app, open the slide out setting on the left tab and click "set up." Go to the RDS-CT setting and turn it OFF! Your clock should stay set from now on.

I haven't bought Kenwood in a long time but when I came across this radio where I can get Bluetooth Android auto satellite CD and DVD player I had to have it. Just purchases ready to put in my car. I like it a lot for the Android Auto feature however I do have some issues with it. 1st is the usb mirroring. This particular radio only works with Android phones for the USB mirroring also one thing to note is that it will only work with YouTube and showtime anytime app for video streaming.. Netflix, Hulu, prime video, HBO Max apps will not work through USB mirroring which is pretty disappointing. also I noticed if I disconnect my phone after using Android Auto leave my car and come back the next morning and start the car with the radio is always in standby/off instead of the FM or Bluetooth option being on, this happens even if I switch it to radio or Bluetooth before getting out of the car. But again for $300 to have Apple car player in there and Android Auto really can't beat it if you want a radio that does true mirroring invest in a more expensive Kenwood that has an HDMI in the back this way you can get a Chromecast or whatever apples HDMI proprietary streaming devices this way literally everything you play on your phone Netflix Hulu etc will actually come up on the screen. The All In One Valet And LEd Is Very beneficial in saving space. The new remotes LCD with the micro USB gives you a lot of customization and control. Previous users stated that the buttons are sensitive, but they function as designed, you press on and it activates something. I use the remote button lock to avoid accidents and it's easy. Sometimes the antenna reception can experience interference which means commands may not respond but just from walking a quarter mile to test it's potential one mile range, I'm satisfied!! I considered Compustar and Prestige as price competitive but overall the Viper has more functionality product consistency that I felt was needed for me to install into a 2013 lexus and 2013 300c.

Works and looks as good as hoped. Replaced old kenwood head unit garmin sat nav etc with wireless android auto, which is a great addition to car journeys. It's intuitive to use for me and touch screen works very well unlike old one, where you had to guess where around item to select you should press. Works and looks as good as hoped.
