Love the idea of this product - drying is marginally good enough and seems to be degrading at 2 years in. Some NEED TO KNOW FACTS- there is an 'internal condenser' you have to do cleaning. It is hideen Beside the pop-out lint trap; it has (air-conditioner-like) aluminum fins that clog with damp caked lint. Tricky to clean without damaging the airflow in those fins (by the way LG now sells a filter for that grate where none comes with the machine! ) . Another issue -LG specifies the drain hose should only go 4" into the wall drain (so condenser/steam output vents freely; mine had about 18" stuffed in the wall!) AND that hose shoulf have zero sag - it should go STRAIGHT from unit to wall drain (mine was good old fashioned big U shaped sagging 3' length of extra hose - I cut it off). So- to optimize drying - Buy the extra filter from LG, check your drain hose path. Keep the condenser fins clean.

We are now a few weeks with this combo machine and it's been a wonderful shift of how we do our laundry overall. No more having to remember to swap machines after something has dried! Previously, I'd get nervous running the machine if I were to be gone all day or at night. I hate when clothes get that musty smell from being left in too long before going to dryer. Now it's all one cycle and the space savings are wonderful compared to a traditional machine. Saving space for us was a big concern and why we went with this. It does take longer than traditional machines to dry, but when you're a home with a kid and a pet, we're always doing laundry. So the bigger help was not having to do the swap. We bought this with the matching washer a couple months ago. It seems to work efficiently, our stuff is not shrunken or left damp. It has great features and settings! Lots of drying options! However, the display will sometimes not light up. We thought maybe there was a reason behind it, like a reset needed, or maybe when it stops and says 80% full (for the lint part, which is super helpful if you sometimes forget to clean it off) but those seem to not be the issue. We have come down to that there is something more than likely not connecting properly or loose in there. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned the washer dryer combo for 10 months. The available options are numerous to choose from and provide for any type of cleaning needed. While the drying time is much longer than a conventional electric dryer the convenience of not having to transfer between machines more than makes up for it. The delay between transferring at the end of standard washer and dryer pairs results in the same amount of time to complete a load. The need to clean 25 ft of dryer vent is also eliminated.

I have had this machine two years. For about 8 months it didn't work well. Finally I put a level on it and it was not level. I raised all the legs and used a 4 foot level to level it with the bubble closer to the back line but inside the lines. Works way better. Lint that had collected along the front of the drum gone! Generally finishing on time. Very happy that I can start a load, leave, and come back to dry clothes. Clean the condenser everything it gets build-up. Approximately every 25-30 loads.

I bought this washer in April and so far I'm pleased. It has several wash cycles to choose from and pretty simple to use. I do have two things that I'm not happy with, 1 is the drum light goes out quickly before I unload a wash and the other issue is you have to set the dial to cold because after every wash it turns off, I believe this is for cold water rinse which I prefer.

I love the energy efficiency and the one and done convenience. However, the competition has a feature to automatically pop the door open at the end of the cycle. Is this something that can be added per software update? I figure it would help prevent any mildew from residual moisture if left unattended. I like the machine a lot. I do like the modern sleek look it cleans very well, the AI functionality works great. I do wish the knob used to Switched between cycles was a little sturdier, but not a huge deal. Overall, very happy with the machine.

This will be a long review so to summarize the WM6998HBA combo unit has some design flaws, and one that LG doesn’t know how to fix, so unless you’re fine spending a large amount of money on a washer/dryer that will work great for a few months and then be completely useless look at a different brand.\n\nI purchased the LG 5.0 cu. ft. All-in-one electric washer/dryer combo in black steel and I really loved this machine at first. I don’t have a large laundry room and there’s only two people in the house so having just one machine seemed to be the ideal solution. There was more maintenance/cleaning with this machine than any washer I've had before but I was okay with that and I didn’t mind the longer drying times so that wasn’t an issue. After 10 months, the machine kept leaking from the door so I went to LG's service website and watched a few of their troubleshooting videos, turned out if there was any hair/lint on the gasket or door it wouldn’t seal so I started wiping the door and gasket with a damp towel before each load (annoying but not a deal breaker) and that fixed the leak. A month later it flooded my laundry room, this time it was gushing pretty good from the dispenser drawer. Again, I went to their site and tried a couple of the troubleshooting videos but it didn’t fix the leak. The dryer had been taking almost three times (over 5hrs) as long to dry at that time and the lint wasn’t making it up into the lint trap at the top so I decided to request a repair since I couldn’t fix the dryer issue and the videos didn’t fix the leak. I spent two hours with a customer service representative asking repeatedly for a service appointment but she kept telling me to troubleshoot and then simply refused to schedule a repair- that was by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I located the LG hotline number, (which wasn’t on their service page so here it is if anyone needs it: 800-243-0000) and after sending in videos of the issues he scheduled a service appointment. I live in a rural area so I'm used to appointments taking longer to get however it took over three weeks to finally get someone out here because they couldn't locate a technician, not ideal when you have no working washer. The technician had to come back four separate times to try and repair everything, he ended up replaced hoses, the condenser, the circuitry- pretty much everything except the drum and frame, and that fixed the gushing from the dispenser drawer but it still will not dry cloths. At some point LG had put out a repair to try and fix an issue where lint would build up in the hose going up to the lint trap at top which so after the components were replaced my unit started doing and not only did this not fix the lint issue, it created an excessive amount on condensation in both the dispenser drawer (which leaks out), and the lint trap on top (and because that is enclosed it stays constantly wet). Needless to say, I spoke with the technician quite a bit over the two months it took to try and fix the unit and mine wasn't the first machine to have these issues, he had been working on them quite a bit. I kept asking him about why the lint no longer went up into the lint filter and after asking LG's repair department he was told that the machine was designed for the lint to stay inside the drum and be flushed out the bottom through the drain pump filter (what???) that made no sense and it definitely isn't advertised that way. So, to end, it's over three months later and the machine still doesn't work so I have to replace it because there simply isn't any known way to repair the lint/drying issue. The only salvage to this situation is that the unit was still under the one year warranty and after contacting LG's arbitration department I was refunded most of the purchase price to replace this machine however I find it absolutely unacceptable that this unit is still being sold considering the issues are known to LG and as of May 2025, they did not have a way to fix them.

I've had this product for just over a year now and it has been excellent for our family. It was a bit of a positive lifestyle change because now we run laundry once every day or two (family of 4) rather than devoting an entire weekend day to marathon laundry. One of my favorite parts is that I no longer worry about wet clothes sitting forgotten in a washer. Normal full loads are typically 2-3 hours to wash and dry. Towels can get closer to 5-6 hours so we definitely save those for last load of the night if there are multiple loads. Much less lint than our old dryer and clothing color and texture seems to last longer. Wrinkles do happen more frequently than with the old dryer; I believe this is because the heat pump drying is a softer heat so clothes aren't basically ironed like in a high heat dryer. We don't have issues with it if we either remove laundry right after the load is done, or we remember to turn on Laundry Care, which tosses the laundry around every couple minutes after the cycle so it doesn't stay in one place to develop wrinkles. There are reviews about drying and lint trapping no longer working. I had this problem too. Turns out I wasn't cleaning the lint filter good enough. You need to run the lint filter under tap water and rub the screen between your fingers to actually clean it out. I had tried everything else and this seemed insignificant, but it worked! I do it once a month now and no issues since. I recommend this product after one year of use.More

I have had this unit a year. Why are the clothes not drying? Small loads. Yesterday PERM setting, clothes still wet. Turn on to dry.. Still wet. Turned on again, still running 9 hours later still wet. Left door open to let out steam. I am a widow just my laundry. So disappointed. I cannot find my owners manual so cannot figure out what to do, or who to call. I got this due to small laundry room, and dryer vents up to attic then out. I had regular dryers for over thirty years. Who do I call what do I do. I need to at least find access to owners maintenance manual and cannot find that on line or at least a customer service number who could help me.

We purchased the washer and dryer along with the pedestal drawers about a month ago and I love the whole set! \n\nThey are huge and can wash so many clothes at once!!! I can’t believe how much laundry I can get done so quickly! Plus, the clothes seem to be cleaner and they smell so good! \n\nAlso, the pedestals make it a perfect height and don’t require me to bend down to get the laundry out. The pedestal drawers have lots of good storage if needed, but they are not deep enough to hold large laundry detergent or fabric softener bottles. (I don’t use them for storage, but it would definitely be annoying if I wanted to try to store them in the drawers.) I love that the drawers come with laundry baskets, so I just pull the clothes out and drop them into the basket—-and then pick them up all at once. \n\n I really love everything about it, but I especially love that you can play around with the settings and get cute little greetings on the screen and several choices of music to alert you when the cycles are finished. It’s just a fun little add on, but I like it. :)\n\nOverall, it has been well worth the investment and we are very pleased with LG!
