I replaced the disk drive on a Windows Vista laptop with a new disk drive. Just unscrew it from\nthe bottom and it will just pop out. Purchase a similar or larger size disk drive and pop it back\ninto the connector. Put back the screws and you're ready to load the Windows 10 disk.\nJust follow the instructions on loading the program disk and before you know it, you have \nalmost a brand new computer. Not too hard to do. Save yourself the price of buying a new\nlaptop.

Put it on an upgraded system. After installing all new parts, turned it on to get disk in DVD drive, restarted and nothing. Oops, my fault, plugged the HDMI cord into the motherboard instead of my graphics card. Don't know what the difference is between this and Windows 11 for $200 and up? Maybe see that in the future. Had seen reviews where some had downloading and/or activation issues. Downloaded fine and activated without a hitch. Would buy again if needed.

Cheapest price at the time of purchase. It comes in CD version but you can, with the aid of a USB disc, still install on new computers that do not have an optical drive.

I hate Windows 10, but with support ended for Windows 7, my only other options were windows 8.1 which is worse or Linux. Some Linux distros are nice, but I use too many windows programs to be able to make the switch at this time. Windows 10 is no where near as intuitive as Windows 7 or even Vista. Altering Windows 10 to make it productive can be done, but it's a pain in the butt. Upgrading seems to work a little better than a clean install, so the best solution is to do a fresh install of 7, set it up as you like and then do the upgrade. This is most valuable when you have multiple PCs networked together. I have 5 that have to talk to each other as well as one that acts as a server/NAS for the others. Edited on 04/0422: An additional warning I just upgraded two of my systems to Dell XPS 8930. Windows 7 will not even install on these machines. Microsoft and Intel have dropped all support for Win 7 on chips newer than Skylake, so all Core iX systems above the 6000 series must be loaded with windows 10 or above. I'd guess that Linux will be a pain to configure also, thanks to secure boot.Read Less

Product worked well loading onto a blank SSD drive, however, it struggled in the beginning after many attempts to load it, but I am sure it was my desktop and not the disk. All worked well after it began loading. Only other issue I have is that it does not recognize my printer which I tried setting up and loading the drivers, so I may need to get help doing that. 4.5/5\r\nNot bad, it was kind of hard to find what code to use to register the license...but the fact this is a CD doesn't really matter since you can download the installer via the Microsoft website. And besides it's cheaper (at least when I got this) than the usb version, so why not. I guess only thing is you'd have to have your own usb drive (empty) to do the installing from if you don't have a CD drive on your PC...but other than that easy to use and a cheaper alternative since windows is expensive. :T

My experience with Windows 10 after buying a full version has been a positive one. Initially I upgraded from Windows 8.1 Windows 10 and it did not work so well. After receiving my full version of Windows 10 in a very speedy and reasonable amount of time I found the installation process smooth and fast. I've had no troubles with the new installation and I actually like the Windows 10 interface better than 8.1

Great operating system with tighter code, better security but with some apps missing like previous versions of windows. I would like to see the return of gadgets like the windows 7 clock. Boot Drive image backups finish under 5 minutes with an I5 6th Gen processor, 16 Gigabytes of memory to another internally mounted 1TB WD drive. Impressive for 70+ Gigabytes of apps and the operating system!

Product set up easier than I thought it would be. It does take a rather long time to load and finish all it needs to do. I just did what I needed to do, and left it to do its thing. Worked out great!

Talk about overly complicated and poor explanations/instructions!! Ya follow every single step it tells you to then it says tsk tsk you can't do that!! If I could give it zero stars I would!!

Install was quick and easy. Has some Windows 7 familiarity, while it has the newness of a refreshed OS. Have yet to dig into more setting pages. But, so far so good!

Normal Microsoft. Upgraded Win 7 pro to win 10 pro with no problems. Just took about 2 1/2 hours. This OS overall works slower than Win 7.

Inexpensive way to update an older laptop to Windows 10 with a genuine license from Microsoft. The hardest part was having to register with Microsoft. They want to automate everything and get all your info, etc. I recommend to do the install and not be hooked up to the internet. If you want to register the product, do it after the you're satisfied with Windows 10 and all it's features. I'm an old Windows 7 Pro diehard so I have to get more familiar with Windows 10. So far I like what I see.
