My 8 year old Roper died. I decided to replace the side by side Roper washer and dryer with this space saving unitized model. My wife recently passed so there is less weekly laundry now. The stainless steel washer basket has plenty of capacity and more for my needs and would have done nicely if there were still the two of us. The Roper had a white enameled basket. Over time, the enamel became chipped (it was my fault!) but this allowed for rust to set in. I don't think corrosion will ever be an issue with this stainless steel basket. Cycle choices allow for delicates to bulky items, water levels and temperatures. The larger capacity dryer actually allows quicker drying for bulky sheets, blankets and towels. Surprisingly, my white T-shirts seem to come out cleaner/brighter, too. The washer's agitator I think does a better job than the Roper ever did. Choices of water levels and temps are just what I needed, too. Both units were surprisingly and pleasantly quieter, the washer especially - less vibration. than either old Roper units. A great bonus - and an obvious one - is how much larger the laundry room seems to be with the unitized spacemaker washer/dryer combo! This model is an excellent choice for me, or even a family of 3 or 4. The only thing I would change: I need larger print on the machine. I mean, I wear readers, but who wears readers doing laundry? Me. I wear readers to do the laundry. But seriously, I am so happy I pulled the trigger and bought this model!
