The printer is very fast. I like the duplex printing. It was easy to set up for wireless printing on multiple computers running Windows and Linux. It is a good value. \n\nI leave it turned on all the time since it draws a tiny bit of power in deep sleep, and it is available to anyone from any room in the house. \n\nCompared to my 20 year old HP Laserjet, printing envelopes is cumbersome having to use the rear exit as well as having to manually adjust the green tabs inside each time. \n\nI also am not a fan of feeding the auxiliary slot 1 sheet at a time where the HP could handle a stack.

This is a well-designed b/w laser printer. It's fast and the printed material is clear and crisp. I give it only four stars, however, because it was quite difficult to set up. I had to keep my computer open to both the manufacturer's instructions and an online video in order to follow the steps for wifi connectivity. The panel is small, difficult to read, and the process of entering the information is confusing. Also, the printer is preset for "duplex" printing so you need to change that manually if you want single-side pages of text. Still, for the price, it's a good machine.

Printer works well but every time I send a print job to the printer it causes a surge that reboots my computer. For a compact printer it has a huge power gulp when first starting. It replaced a Brother Multi-Function printer in the same location and power outlet that didn't have the same problem. I know this is a common issue with laser printers but this one seems to have an especially strong draw when starting up. A Brother multi-function ink jet printer in the same location does not cause the energy surge when starting.

This is a great printer. Everything works as expected. However, I would have given a 5 star rating except for two critical issues: 1) When setting the machine up (or if you need to reconnect to wifi) you need a flashlight in order to read the menu screen - oh Brother; and 2) I'm frequently being asked to update the utility software and firmware with no clear indication of whether it was successfully installed or not.

I love the printer fast and quiet. Not too much trouble connecting to network. Do a quick search for how to keep printer from going into a Deep Sleep. Without that change I found it impossible to keep printer online without doing a hard restart. Another issue is after trying to update firmware for 2 hours multiple times I was unsuccessful. I gave up. The printer is running fine so if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I bought this printer when Xerox stopped making cartridges for my old printer. This one is fine so far, but I took off one star because I have to turn it on each time Is use it with a USB cable. (I haven't had time to set up WIFi so I don't know how easy it would be.) The printer is on a high shelf and I can't see the on/off button. It is a hassle to have to feel around each time to turn it on.

The printer is ok, but the app is horrible! 1) tried to register for extended warranty, uploaded proof of purchase file successfully, then nothing! 2) tried to order toner from the app and filled out all the information, except when it came to credit card info it asked for name on the card - and that's all. So could not place an order from the app.

I've had this printer for about a month. On the good side, it's small and prints clearly and quickly. On the bad side, when it prints, it makes the lights in my home office dim and flicker. My previous printers (this is my third) did not do this, so I know it's not due to my setup. I would give it a lower rating, but I'm generally pleased with it.

My only complaint is the printer goes to "sleep" a lot and can take longer to print when I'm in a hurry because it was to "wake up" also it didnt give me a warning that I was low on toner and then wouldn't print a single page because suddenly the toner was totally out. Other then that it's solid and can handle a big batch with ease.

As others have said, very hard to read and operate that little setup window. Other than that, it work's well . After purchase, Found a free BRAND NEW in the box all in one printer at the towns recycling centers take it or leave it building.Now I have 2 brother products.

Prints well.The sleep/deep thing is kind of confusing. Trying to wireless to the desktop right next to it doesn't work; says it is connecting but never does. Almost impossible to print envelopes, a big negative.

Joined my network easily and prints fast meeting our needs. Haven't enabled all features probably because I haven't referenced all directions. Will be in fairly infrequent use. It could handle a lot more.

While I enjoy the quick wireless response of this printer and the low cost, the app and other features are not easy to use or install. Currently the printer works only through the network.

For the price this compact monochrome printer is very good. It does not have scan/fax ability so limited to printing documents.

I've had a Brother laser printer for over 20 years. It's been rock solid, so I was inclined to go with the Brother brand when supplying our vacation home with a simple printer. This is my first attempt at using WiFi connectivity for a printer, and I must say it works great. I can even print from my iPhone. Tap "print," the printer wakes up, spits out my doc, and goes back to sleep. No muss, no fuss. The pages print quickly, double-sided as requested, and the print quality is just as one would expect from a laser printer: clean and sharp. The only negative aspect is the driver software I needed to download for my Windows 11 machine took some tinkering before it was stable, but now it's all good. \n\nAlso, a plug for B&H... the pricing is competitive, shipping is fast, and the package was received undamaged. When I'm in the market for something, if they stock it, B&H is my go-to source. Make it yours as well. You won't be disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The printer was packaged well. It came in a sturdy box and styrofoam with key items on the printer taped so they weren't able to move. The set up instructions were mostly pictures. A few words would've been nice in the instructions. When setting it up, it failed over the WiFi through my laptop initially, however I was able to complete the setup using my phone. When trying to print, I was getting a jam error, but after several tries, it cleared itself. After that, the printing quality was excellent as was the speed. The manual feed also works well. I also appreciated that the safety guide came in English in Spanish to provide options for different users of the product. The size is nice and compact for a small office. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking for a monochrome printer.
