[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in Oklahoma and have had a competitor's refrigerator in our garage for over 14 years. It was time to upgrade as I was concerned that fridge was not going to survive another hot Oklahoma summer.\n\nWe have had this refrigeration in the garage for exactly 14 days and on day 1, I had to open the door and make sure it was running because it was SO QUIET. 14 days later, it is still SO QUIET. \n\nThe other impressive initial impression was that the door would not open on its own from extra weight on the door by placing a gallon of tea on the top drawer and then half gallons of orange juice and chocolate milk on the bottom shelf of door. 2 weeks into owning the fridge, the door has not opened on its own like our old one would occasionally do. \n\nThe fridge was also delivered on day 1 of a 2 week heat wave and it had no issues keeping items in the fridge cold and the freezer items frozen. I suspect our garage heated up over 120 degrees at certain points over the last 2 weeks. After having the Competitor brand for so many years, I was concerned that only the competitor fridges could survive an Oklahoma summer.\n\nI will try and update my review over the course of the summer and let you know if it continued to operate flawlessly over the hot summer months.\n\nAlso, for full disclosure...I am a family member of an LG employee and I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I currently have a 7.5 cubic feet freezer and I was very impressed with the overall size of the refrigerator/freezer because it's depth is more than my current one. I'm not sure I'm ready to let the smaller freezer go yet though. I had looked at all the questions people had asked and the mfg's responses so when it arrived I quickly read the manual as that seemed to be their default answer and was surprised at a few things that weren't clearly answered. 1. Ambient temp for placement should be 38-110 degrees. With this being sold as a garage ready, this surprises me because I thought it was all about operating in colder climates 2. Self defrosting - claims it does. That's great because defrosting my little freezer is a pain. I've included pictures that show the LF next to my smaller freezer for scale. The LG has replaced a little tabletop fridge I was using for drinks. I do like having a true fridge because if something were to happen to my kitchen refrigerator I've always worried what I would do. This will work great at thanksgiving thawing out a turkey and not impacting anything. Aesthetically I wish it had handles and it's so low to the ground, the door when opening will hit your foot.

I thought that I had already posted this. The top Freezer/Refrigerator unit is a capable and quiet unit with low noise and with modest shelving. I would have preferred the nature of a tad more shelving space on the door, that noted being less than might have been built into the device's design. I would also prefer access to the produce area to see a fold out front to the bin to afford the easier access to that bin's slid out path. One needs to open the door of the refrigerator beyond the 90 degree angle to afford a somewhat decent excursion and the larger containers placed in the produce opening loosely are limited to their depth by an angulation. If redundancy might be seen with a container inside the produce bin, it makes for more efficient separation and even stacking of items to afford the more optimal usage, but nowhere near the same depth of the bin's affordance are easily managed unless the front of the bin could be folded out at least to a 45 degree angle on a hinged basis. Otherwise the unit I have seems to work out quite well.

This refrigerator/freezer has amazingly large capacity. The inside door shelves are wide enough to hold a full gallon of milk. The light inside the fridge is bright! I love that I can see everything inside the refrigerator. The shelves and drawers are clear so you can easily see what’s in stock. \nThe freezer: I do not have the ice maker (not needed in my household), so I cannot comment on that. \nHowever, the size of the freezer is good. It holds more than I thought it would . Nothing in the way to detract from the quantity of food put inside. \nI love that the handles to open both the fridge and the freezer are inside the outside of the door. Nothing sticks out that would catch on anything. \nThe unit chilled very quickly! The temperature remains steadily where it’s set. Where I live, the electricity is very expensive. I am very pleased that this refrigerator/freezer is so efficient. \nCurrently, this is an extra refrigerator/freezer to store beverages, pizzas, ice cream, etc.. in my garage as my house refrigerator/freezer isn’t as efficient as this unit. \nIf this is an extra fridge or the only one you have, it’s a definite yes!

This is NOT just a frig you put in your garage! This is an actual marketed frig FOR your garage. LG has created this frig that is designed to work in the extremes of a garage that gets cold and winter. The compressor is the first thing I noticed. It's super quiet. Not something that is important in your garage, but is of note. So quiet I was wondering if it was working. This unit comes with something I found very amazing. It has "quick chill" feature that after you plug in and turn the dial, will "quick chill" the frig and freezer for 21 hours. After that point, it does shut itself off. Even if you don't turn the dial down. It worked so well for me that after about 3 hours, everything was chilled enough that I moved it to the middle setting. Exterior truly is finger print proof. No handles stick out, which is nice in the garage. Lots of shelves EVEN in the freezer! If you're looking for a TRUE garage frig, this is the one! I'm beyond extremely impressed.

I had this fridge installed in my garage and I love it! Just looking at it, there is nothing about it that makes it garage specific - it looks and acts like a normal fridge. It would also be great indoors, perhaps in an apartment because it's not a full size fridge. The description from the manufacturer states it can handle garage temperature fluctuations, which is the only thing I can see that makes it garage specific. Unfortunately, I can't speak to that because I live in an area with very mild weather. It came fully assembled, just plug in and go. It came with a little stopper to put behind it so you don't jam the plug into the wall, which I appreciate. It's basic but it gets the job done. It cooled off quickly and had been working great! The only thing I didn't like is that the back of the fridge where the moter sits is uncovered. I worry about garage debris like sawdust getting in it. Maybe a screen over it to keep the dust out. Other than that, it's great!

I've been wanting a refrigerator for my garage for some time and when i saw this one i decided to jump on it and see how it is. The pictures online truly does not do this fridge justice. It came much bigger than whaf i was expecting which was great! This fridge is deep. I already have a stand-up deep freezer in my garage and this was about 2-3 inches deeper than that. The finish is really really nice and looks so smooth and shiny. It didnt take long for the refrigerator to cool so that i could begin putting food and drinks in it. This fridge is perfect!!! If you need an extra fridge to store excess food and drinks, then don't hesitate to purchase this one for your garage. Guaranteed you will be happy with your product. If you struggle with not ever having enough space in youf kitchen fridge like me, then this is your solution right here. Highly recommended!!!

This fridge is awesome! I was looking for a second fridge for my house as a place to keep my meal prep, drinks, and liquor. It's the perfect size to fit my cabinets and the fact that it's garage ready means I could also move it to the garage if I ever feel like I need more space on the inside of the house. \n\nI really enjoy the single large drawer at the bottom, at first I thought I would prefer 2 drawers but after having it here I can fit so many things in there like hiding a a birthday cake before a party or a full watermelon. \n\nOne other thing that I am very pleased with is the lack of light bulb on the back of the fridge, this unit has a flat LED bulb mounted into the top of the unit so it doesn't interfere with anything I put inside the fridge. This is one little thing that I never gave any thought to, but quite honestly, it's really nice to have.

I assumed this fridge was going to be smaller since the description talked about “Garage” etc…. But no, this is a really nice full size fridge with tons of space both in the freezer as well as the refrigerator. All the shelves are removable and you could actually fit a full size bar keg in there which I just might do in my basement party cave. \n\nThis fridge can accept a “purchased separately” ice maker for the freezer but the freezer is much roomier without it. I’m fact the freezer is quit large for an “above the fridge” style unit.\n\nMy favorite part is the huge fridge door shelves, plenty of room for large items leaving the rest of the fridge for everything else.\n\nLastly, there is one drawer in the bottom of the fridge and it’s also huge.\n\nGreat product!

The unit is quiet and it has good cooling and thermal controls It could benefit from a more commodius produce storage as the section, while of good width has limited depth coverage. It is unclear that any control of the criisper air flow is provided. Beyond that some option for a bit of extra door storage space might have been considered as the pocket layout for door storage appears to sacrifice some of the potential space available for that capacity. I am perhaps unaware of some reason for the design, but cannot see that I have a clear issue preventing the better design. The seal of the doors appears very good.

I recieved the stainless door model and it's definitely a good looking fridge. From initial plug in, it was so quiet I had to check the main fridge compartment to see if it was on. Classic top freezer set up and large main fridge area makes it ideal for a garage or basement location. After I plugged it in it built up cold air circulation in less than two hours. Pretty excited to have a fridge down in the basement because my woodworking shop is also down there. Snacks and of course.....ice cold beers are now steps away. I needed a new fridge because the one we had was old and no longer performing well. Even though this is meant for a garage, we have it in our small kitchen and it's a perfect fit. The stainless steel is a sleek look, and we were able to switch the side the door opens. Most importantly, the freezer stays ice cold even on the lowest setting. The refrigerator looks nice and it has a lot more room than I expected. It’s really quiet, and it got cold inside pretty fast. This is really going to help us out with vegetables, fruit , water or anything else since our fridge in the kitchen is a counter depth and we are limited to how much we can put in it. \nMy only complaint is when the delivery guys unboxed it and removed the styrofoam, you could see a reddish color dirt on the door . I left the dirt on it for taking pictures of it. You will be able to see the dirt on the styrofoam as well. All in all , I am happy with it , and hopefully years of use

So far I'm very happy with this fridge. This replaced the fridge I had in my garage and while this fridge is a smaller size, it still has plenty of space. I traded everything from my bigger fridge to this and still had some space left over. The smaller size also works out when you don't want to take up too much room. While it comes with water hook ups I'm not using them. The only negative I have is that the drawer on the bottom could've been designed better, the handle to open it it is on the very bottom so you have to bend all the way down to open it. Other than that it's working out great.

This refrigerator is very nice and I highly recommend. There are plenty of shelves (not in the freezer) which are easily adjusted to accommodate large or small items. This refrigerator is used in our garage so the fact that it does not come with an ice maker is not an issue for us. In fact, it makes for more storage of frozen items which is a bonus. My wife has one minor issue which is the lack of an actual door handle as the handle is built into the unit. Oddly enough, I like it more than a handle sticking out. Again, this refrigerator is a no frills type and I highly recommend it.

I am now experiencing a much pleasant with the calm as well as no vibration noise. And I feel savings in the electricity due to the energy saving technology. The door also works very smoothly when opened and closed and has no impact, so it is more durable than any other products, so it seems that it can be used for a long time. With a smaller footprint, I was not sure how much room inside the fridge there would be. It was a pleasant surprise to open it and see loads of space. It is made to operate in colder areas and may be used inside the garage, but probably going to use in the basement, less wear and tear on the motor.\nIt inside of fridge has LED lights to see inside, no lights in freezer, that would have been nice. The tags show the energy usage at under $50 per year to operate this efficient fridge. The fridge is made to have an ice maker installed, which we will be ordering soon.

This refrigerator/freezer is the perfect size for our garage. I was worried that 18 cu. would be small, but it turned out to be the perfect size. Installation was plug in and go as we didn’t add an ice maker. After about 48 hours, the refrigerator and freezer settled into the perfect temperatures without having to adjust the thermostat. Temperatures in the garage are approaching 95+ degrees and the temps inside the refrigerator are stable. We really like this unit and would recommend it to others shopping for a top freezer unit.

Had this for about 1 month now and have 0 complaints. No issues with freezer frosting up or refrigerator having trouble keeping items cold. Old fridge ran all the time. Went to a big box store to shop fridges. This was the only fridge where the top door didnt bounce when closed bottom door. Bought and have had for 3 months. Good space inside. Bottom drawer good size. No small deli drawer but gives me a lot more shelf space. Keeps everything really cold. Actually had to turn down from setting it came with since food was very cold. Door holds good sized bottles. Freezer works well and decent size. Very happy with my purchase.

Awesome fridge/freezer, it is deep so you can keep allot of stuff cold. The glass shelves are adjustable, sleek and easy to clean. The door storage/shelves are deep, see through, and sturdy. There is a large storage bin on the bottom that slides in and out easily. The doors are easy to close. The fridge was installed in my basement, after it was plugged in the fridge and freezer seemed like it was cold almost instantly. I like the stainless steel color and the no handle look.

The refrigerator works great, is spacious and has a nice profile. It would be nice if the crisper drawer had a way to pull it out at the top of the drawer, rather than all the way at the bottom. Exceeded my expectations! \nVery roomy & has a nice clean design. \nPocket handles on doors keep with the design, and it’s nice they’re black to keep from showing dirt.\nPlugged in for about a week because I’m moving it to a different area in the garage, but had no issues with refrigerator maintaining temperature; and temps here range 70-85.\nRuns quietly.\n1 glass shelf.\nDrawer & Bins are a flimsy plastic. So far thrilled with my purchase. I have this in a small second home in Florida, so there are stretches where the indoor temperature is 84\u00b0. Being a garage ready product, it keeps the temperature perfectly in both refrigerator and freezer. Bonus is how quiet the until is. I have a 15 year old French Door LG in my year round home and I though it is quiet, but compared to this model, shows its age.

This is a great basic refrigerator. The option to add an ice maker is nice and I will be doing so. It has a large capacity with a minimal footprint. I was able to place it in my laundry room, which is a tight squeeze already, but it fits nicely! Everything was packaged well ( all shelves and drawers all stayed in place). Has a huge crisper drawer at the bottom. Would recommend.
