Sleek Design\nThe first thing that caught my eye about the "Washtower" was its sleek, modern design. It’s perfect for our home, adding a touch of elegance to our very basic laundry space. The vertical stacking saves us so much floor space. The Center Control panel was a highlight in the reviews I saw before selecting this model and it's integrated between the washer and dryer, making the unit look clean and streamlined.\n\nEase of Use\nUsing this Washtower has been a breeze. The Center Control panel is right in the middle, which is great because everything is within easy reach. The controls are very intuitive, and I didn’t have to spend much time figuring them out. I'm curious to see how the "AI" works but seems to be effective at it's job—it detects the weight and fabric type of our laundry and optimizes the wash cycle accordingly. It’s provided very impressive results in the ~10 loads we've completed since its arrival.\n\nEnergy Efficiency\nWe’ve been trying to be more conscious about our energy consumption, and this Washtower fits right into our plans. Both the washer and dryer are designed to be energy-efficient. The washer’s technology has definitely improved our washing to be more effective in terms of energy usage and I look forward to our next water bill to see how that's impacted. The dryer’s heat pump is particularly impressive, claiming to use 50% less energy compared to traditional dryers. I've noticed it takes a good bit longer to complete dryer cycles but if it's that much more efficient and ventless, I'm ok with that. I haven't noticed any excessive ambient heat output in the laundry room either. The dryer is supposed to recycle heat within the machine, which means it dries efficiently and gently.\n\nCapacity\nI’ll admit, we were a bit concerned about the smaller capacity of the 2.8 cu. ft. washer compared to our previous unit. While we're only a 2-person household, between work uniforms, workout clothes, and dog towels/bed covers, we do a lot of laundry. However, we’ve found it more than adequate for our needs. The washer can handle king-sized sheets with ease, which was a must. It seems the smaller capacity has also contributed to improving the energy efficiency - albeit our last machine came with the house and likely 10+ years old.\n\nInstallation and Mobility\nOne thing to note is that this Washtower comes pre-stacked, which means you don’t have the option to place the washer and dryer side by side. While the stacked configuration is great for saving space, it does make the unit more cumbersome to move into place. I highly recommend using the professional install option to ensure it can be safely moved and set up in your home. Our installers said it was one of the heaviest and cumbersome machines they've had to move but I didn't help so take that for what it's worth. The professionals can handle the weight and maneuvering, making the installation process much smoother and stress-free.\n\nMonitoring and Control with LG ThinQ\nOne of my pleasant surprise features is the LG ThinQ integration. We can monitor and control laundry cycles remotely using the smartphone app. It gives us real-time updates on the cycle status, sends notifications when a cycle is done, and even suggests optimal cycles based on the load type. Plus, the app helps us track power consumption, giving us insights to manage and reduce our energy usage more effectively. The machine also has a download feature which gives you access to ~dozens more cycles if you're wanting to be ultra prescriptive with a preset feature.\n\nConclusion\nOverall, the Washtower has been a fantastic addition to our home. It’s sleek, easy to use, energy-efficient, and packed with smart features that make laundry much more manageable. While the capacity is smaller than our previous washer, it perfectly suits our two-adult household and has likely improved our energy efficiency. The pre-stacked design may require professional installation, but the convenience and performance of this unit make it well worth it. We’re very happy with the significantly improved laundry results and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a compact, efficient, and smart laundry solution.

Incredibly forward thinking wash tower appliance. This feature-rich machine performs its primary functions of washing and drying very well and looks good doing it. It sports some of the most unconventional features that really drew us to this unit. Ventless Drying! Heat Pump dryer!. Smart App control via mobile devices! Condenser Auto-Cleaning! Very cool.\nEven with all its many features, it is very easy to use. It's controls are highly intuitive to use. Its app is very well done and adds a ton of information that makes the appliance even easier to use. \nThe installation was simple, other than this unit is quite heavy. It comes as a preassembled tower which simplifies installation but makes it a bit of work to get it into place. We wired it to connect to a 4 wire outlet. Using the strain relief supplied with the cord, we had to nibble out a bit of the electric panel cover. Had we used a non-metallic twin-screw cable clamp, it would have gone right on. \nBecause the dryer uses a Heat Pump, it of course has a condensate drain. A connector allowing that to connect to the washer drain makes the plumbing easy. The dryer also has a novel very fine mesh filter which makes sense since it has no vent. The filter is essentially a double filter which opens up to clear. It works extremely well, catching much more lint than we've seen in most conventional dryers. The dryer is also much bigger than the washer, which may be needed since there is no vent so moving air in the drum is even more important. The dryer control panel is very intuitive and lets us control the cycle types, various statuses (condenser auto-cleaning status, WiFI, Lint filter status, etc.). The drying time in "Energy Saver" mode is, of course, much longer than Normal mode as it uses a lower temperature, but gets our standard size load done in about 90 minutes, which usually is fine. There is a very nice drum light that comes on when we turn the unit on, and shuts off automatically after a few minutes.\nThe washer is also really capable. High efficiency detergent is needed for washers this efficient, of course. Liquids, powders and modules are ok. Separate compartments for Prewashing liquids and powders, bleach and fabric softeners are also supported. The controls are intuitive and easy to use, like the dryer controls. The unit also has a drain pump water filter that is another feature we haven't seen in years. It's located near the bottom of the unit and isn't the easiest to access or sue, but it a great feature.\nThe unit also connects to the LG ThinQ app. Setting it up is easy, but we did need to set it up manually as the app did not wait long enough to let the phone focus on the QR code which would have sped up the installation process and reduced manual typing. The app is very intuitive and has some very useful features. Beyond the general control of the machine, the information provided on utilization and various statuses makes it a truly useful feature. The ability to tell us when cleaning cycles are coming up is a huge benefit, as we've used other machines without that and been unpleasantly surprised to find out that a cleaning cycle needs to be run before we could run a load. Not with this machine. \nThis unit really exceeded our expectation in every meaningful way. We delighted with it and highly recommend it.

Lets start with the good. This thing uses VERY LITTLE electricity to dry. My old front loader used about 5600 Watts when running, this barely breaks 800. That's a huge difference. The dryer does not require a big old vent anymore which is great. It will actually use a drain just like the Washer does. They even provide a Y adapter so you can put both drains into 1. The lint trap is made of the finest mesh i have seen. Literally no lint gets by this trap since its not venting outside anymore. The washer has 2 water jets that shoot water at the upper portion of the clothes while they are spinning. Most front loaders just slosh the clothes around but don't spray water while doing it. This one does and its a big difference. The detergent tray is very large with good room in-between each compartment. Some washers give you these tiny areas to pour in and you end up putting detergent in more than one or bleach etc. Now for the misses. While the lint trap is superfine, lint tends to be tough to get off of it. There's even these rectangular indents that lint really loves to get stuck in. This thing is small. Its really for a small apartment, or 1 or 2 people who do a few loads at a time. The largest load you can fit is 6 bath towels. This isn't the biggest issue i have though as 6 towels is a decent size. Whilst this uses WAY less electricity, it takes quite a while to dry. Those 6 towels will take around 2.5 hours to finish. The wash only 1 hour. So you washer will be standing by doing nothing for 1.5 hours while you wait for the dryer to finish. Those 6 towels in a traditional electric dryer might take about 50 minutes, in a gas dryer 25 minutes. This is truly the biggest issue i see. If you only have a few loads and aren't in a hurry this unit will save you a ton of money and physical space.

Building a new Laundry Room - We needed a Washer/Dryer unit that is simple to use and help me by making decisions (how much soap and softener to use, what time to set for drying etc etc) and thus make the job as seamless as possible - ENTER the LG Studio: not an inexpensive unit, this is top end in price, but read on, because the cost to value comparison makes this a 'spend that little bit extra and get a disproportionate amount of extra happy happy happy!"\n\nIt was delivered with the old units taken away - I have to add that the two delivery gentlemen were actually amazing: thank you 'delivery Gods' for giving me a good one! \n\nI have never owned an intelligent machine; you can deposit the soaps into a reservoir and the system takes what it wants during the process - it works out how many clothes are inserted by weight (both washer and dryer) then tells you how long the cycles will be - everything is visible on the dashboard - both the washer and the dryer have their own data showing. \n\nBefore placing in it's final resting place, to put the units through its paces and test the water connections, we used it for 3 wash/dry loads. Three very different weight loads and 3 different water heat loads. On each occasions, the reading for length of wash and dry was different and the clothes came out of the dryer perfect (so the wife says - it's her that has to be pleased). For most of the experiment we had both the washer and the dryer working simultaneously, it was so quite...... I went to the room above and I could not hear it. Wow!! \n\nWe have solar and I was able to check consumption on my phone app - when the dryer was working, there was no more of a spike than when I turn on my A/C split unit.\n\nPOSITIVE: Looks great - efficient electrical cost - SUPER QUITE - electric Dryer is plug & play (220V) no need for a gas engineer to install the gas connections - NO disappointment here, it actually does exactly what it was designed to do - this is not an empty promise product - has filter at the bottom of the unit that catches small solids that get caught in the filter (wife and sister-in-law really liked that) - the unit pumps the expelled water from the washer to a height of 8 feet (very important for a basement installation where the drain pipes are above the unit)\n\nNEGATIVES: Heavy, although can be done by one person, get a second person to help - if you don't have 220V, you will need to get installed.\n\nOVERALL - my wife absolutely loves the build quality, the functionality and wash results - that means, I'm a happy man!

Summary: super-sleek look, all digital touch-screen control, everything included. Contrary to what it says in the description about the dryer, NEITHER door can be switched to open the other direction, even though they are the same exact doors you find on models that CAN be reversed; this model just isn't set up to do it (too many electronic gizmos inside, I think). Home Depot included a 4" flexible metal vent and installed the dryer power cordon delivery; tower came with extra water hose for the steam function and a Y converter. Despite the "studio" name, this is not an apartment-size unit; the washer is full-size and the dryer is cavernous. The display for both is easy to read: move between different modes with a simple swipe; tap Settings to change alert volume, connect to Wi-Fi, and much more. The lights inside the drums are very helpful so no sock is left behind in either one. The washer does the normal amount of clicking and clacking for a front-loader as it goes though its cycle; the dryer is smooth and quiet. After you select a mode, you can still tweak things like temperature, spin speed, and soil level (washer) and dryness and heat level (dryer) on the touch screen. Connecting to it through LG's ThinQ app gives you communication like Smart Diagnosis, energy monitoring, alerts, and remote stop/start. This makes much better use of the space in our laundry room, giving us room to build a little laundry table beside it. Caveats: (1) even with Energy Saver on, which is supposed to make things dry at lower temps over a little longer time period for less damage to clothes, it still gets so hot I can't keep my hand on the dryer exhaust; I guess I need to find a cycle that dries at a lower temp to start with (2) we use powdered detergent (doesn't leave behind the animal fat liquids are made from, which can eventually smell), so the auto-dosing feature doesn't work for us, but even though I set the dispense level to zero, it still warns me every time I turn it on that it's empty :-) (3) the dryer warns me to clean the lint trap every time I turn it on (might be a setting for 2 and 3), and (4) the non-reversible doors. But overall this is a very sleek step-up in the user-interface department, making washing and drying clothes almost as much fun as setting up a Laundry Jams playlist. Just hope my washer/dryer doesn't get together with my ThinQ dishwasher and gang up on me for better working conditions or something :-). (P.S. White was unavailable and we were offered a swap to Noble Steel)

This replaced a washer/dryer with intuitive control knobs, so it took some time and experimentation to do what I wanted. The touch sensitive controls are not as intuitive. For example, I found myself pressing the top and bottom ends of the high/low range settings before I eventually realized it was a simple switch that cycled through all of the settings. It also took me awhile to understand that by clicking on the Timed Dry control when it was not lit, caused it to light up and the Temp Dry setting stopped being lit up. It would probably be better if all of the feature settings were at least dimly lit, half way lit when not chosen, and brightly lit when chosen. Those that are not lit cannot be read at all on the black control panel. One thing I was able to do on the old knob controls was to be able to change certain things after starting the wash or dry. For instance, when I start the wash and realize that the temp is not where I wanted to set it, or I wanted to add more time to the time setting, or change the dryness level. What little bit that I have used it, it's done really well and is an attractive unit...what sold me on it was a Queen size comforter fits in it...the digital display is impressive but I think I personally would have liked using dials better, with the option to have more control over the dry time & heat level. I have not tried the Steam option yet. The lights inside the tub, of both, only come on at the end of the cycle for a short time...I would like to see the light stay on through the whole wash cycle and dry time. One thing was a little distrubing to me, the top of the unit didn't look like the rest of tower...they didn't cover it (picture attached to show top of unit). When washing & drying is running, it's a lot more quiet than my last set...very nice!

First unit I received was not good. The washing machine sounded like a turbo jet and it was just unbearable. Even after leveling, the unit bounced around and made so much noise. The dryer also would stop before my clothes were dry. I called BestBuy immediately and they sent out a replacement. The new unit work’s beautifully. It’s quiet and I have no issues so far. \n\nAnd just to clear up any confusion. The dryer DOES NOT come with a plug. Makes sense because they don’t know what kind of outlet you have. I have a 4 prong outlet and connected everything myself. The directions are right on the back of the dryer or look up a YouTube video. It’s a pretty straightforward install. Plug cost about $30 extra.

This LG wash tower weighs almost 300lbs, so you will need 2 people minimum and a dolly to help maneuver it into place. You will need to purchase a 240v power cord for the dryer as well as water lines, since it is not included. If you pay for delivery and install, the service guys arrive fully prepared to do the install. This wash tower requires 2 separate outlets; one 240v for the dryer and one 120v for the washing machine. A wrench is provided to remove the 4 shipping bolts in the back of the washing machine. The wrench can also be used to adjust the feet at the bottom to level the wash tower. Because the dryer is ventless, there is a drain hose provided that attaches to the back of the dryer. There is a test you can run on the dryer, which is provided in the install manual. Upon testing the washing machine for the first time, during the rinse cycle, the front drum area started leaking. The drain hoses were secured and not leaking and the water was dripping from the bottom of the washing machine. Did a quick troubleshoot to see why it was leaking and the only thing I can think of is there was a kinked line somewhere. Ran another cycle to test it again with no water leak issue. Once this issue was taken care of, the washing machine is quiet and seems to clean pretty well. There are 2 water jets that shoot into the drum while washing. You can download additional wash cycles onto the washing machine as well. The main drawback to the wash tower is the dryer, which takes a long time to dry clothes. The small load takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to dry. The normal load takes over 2 hours to dry. Not sure how much electricity it will use for longer dry times. It has an auto sense feature and will recommend what dryer setting to use base on the amount of clothes. The dryer has a plastic moth ball smell that will leave your clothes smelling like moth balls. I recommend pulling the clothes out and letting the smell dissipate before putting your clothes away. LG states on their website that it will take 4 to 5 uses of the dryer to get rid of the strong smell.

I live in a tiny condo with a tiny laundry closet. My old washer somehow lasted 14 years with several repairs and unclogging efforts but I knew it wasn't worth trying to repair it again. I've had this washtower for two weeks and like it. It replaced a full sized Whirlpool washer and driver that stacked in a closet under a stair well. This LG washtower is the same full size for washer and driver portions but is about 2 inches narrower and a bit shorter in height. I like being able to store some light supplies on the top and on the floor in front of the unit. Operation of the unit is not straightforward, so you'll want to read the owner's manual. I am very pleased with this washer and dryer that I bought 6 months ago. It has a very sleek look. I like that it has a large space for a queen comforter. I was able to wash 3 pillows inside. It can fit 4 but I don't want to overdo it. This is a one piece washer & dryer, no need for brackets to attached together. It fits in our small condo. The only con is it doesn't dry the clothes that much specially bulky items. I have to add another 10-20 mins quick dry. But all in all it's a good buy.

Very nice machine. I have been using this for about one month and the machine is nice and quiet and gets the job done. I really like the app associated with the machine that reminds\r\nyou when to clean the tub and do different maintenance on the machine, it makes me feel like the product will last. As far as washing machines go it is also quite aesthetically pleasing which is a nice bonus. Overall I would recommend this machine to my friends or family based on my experience so far.

This is a wonderful wash/dryer combo. Buy beware of LOWES's AI trying to make you buy items you don't need to install. The buyer must check on the features and gas pipe sizes before assuming that LOWES know the install items you need. They are just wanting to sell stuff. This dryer doesn't have a steam dry feature, but they will try to sell you an install water hose kit. GAS line inlet has three different kits you must get the correct one for your house.

Product is good but not compatible with new builds. \n\nThe new electric breakers and GFCI outlets prevent the machine from operating correctly when it uses hot water. It flips the breaker every time. This leaves the homeowner having to replace a safe GFCI outlet with a non-GFCI outlet or illegally modify the breaker box to operate the washer. I really like the u it but it has been an expensive issue to track down and resolve.

We have had our new washer/dryer unit for several months and so far it's been great. Love how easy it is to use. Only complaint so far is since we bought the green unit, I've noticed the paint has chipped on the front of the dryer where clothes hit it when transferring it from the washer to dryer. It very small, but disappointing. Otherwise they have been great.

I've had this washer and dryer for about 8 months. I do 1-3 loads of laundry everyday. It's much quieter then my old Samsung, and it seems to wash faster as well. In the last month it has been leaking out of the front door on the occasion . so far 4xs. I can't figure out why but this is a complete inconvenience .

Generally, the unit does a great job of cleaning and drying laundry. I wish I could change the side of the hinge, I.e., reverse the door. Also, it would be nice to have an optional stand to raise the unit up a little. It is pretty low to the ground.

I usually do my own installs, but this appliance is large and heavy. I'm glad I opted to let the pros handle it, they did an excellent job. This LG Studio WashTower might free up space for some people but it is essentially a full size large capacity washer and dryer, just stacked up. This is my first front load washer and so far, I'm sold on front load over top load. I'm 5' 10". I have to kneel to get everything out of the washer which is not an issue. The dry is perfect since I only have to reach in to load or remove items. The control panel which controls both washer and dryer is in the center which is super convenient. As far as performance, my wife and I have both mentioned how much faster we finish our laundry now. The wash times on our old washer (which was also a large capacity) were super long. This LG WashTower does a much better job in far less time. We use to use detergent pods. I absolutely love the ez dispenser for detergent and fabric softener. Beyond refilling the dispenser when its low, you don't have to bother with either one when doing laundry. Our last washer and dryer were also connected but the usefulness of the LG app and this WashTower are far beyond our last set. The WashTower is easy to use but it is also a pretty sophisticated appliance. You will want to take a little time to check out all the feature, functions, and options. Lastly, this WashTower is just a really nice looking appliance. We're doing an entire bathroom remodel just to make everything as nice as the WashTower. Since this is the top LG model, it's a tad pricey but I highly recommend.

I have had my machines about a year and a half. I have had absolutely no issues until recently one of the dryer drums cracked. How does that happen to a steel drum? I haven’t the foggiest idea. I do have extended warranties for both, a tech was sent out within a few days and diagnosed it within a minute of looking inside the dryer. He told me they would replace the drum. A few days later I received a call that they would be replacing the entire machine, my guess is you would have to disassemble the entire housing to swap the drum out, which would be too expensive. More expensive than a whole new machine apparently. I’m not going to complain. I do a ton of laundry, and both of my machines have heavy use every week. I clean them as directed, wash lint traps, wipe seals and run washer cleaner through them regularly, pull the drawers and clean them, empty the filter at the bottom, etc. and have never had a problem with smell or mold. Pulling them out to clean behind and under them is a task as they are heavy, mine are on sliders for this reason, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to get them to budge. I would buy these machines again and again, the capacity is great, they don’t take too long to run cycles and there is a cycle for everything. I wish they made pedestals for them as the washer is a little low to bend down into, I’m not sure why LG hasn’t done this yet, but if they do I will certainly buy them for my machines. I would recommend them and also recommend the warranty company through Home Depot, my claim was handled very quickly.
