I've had this washer for about a year now. It has worked well over all.\n\nThe washer is a bit larger and heavier than my prior unit. It is a little difficult to reposition. The lid is 'clam shell' style, so sitting anything on top of the lid will not be balanced well. The front is also slightly clam shell style, but to a lesser degree.\n\nWhen I run the washer, even the deep clean cycle isn't as long as with my prior washers. The load completes successfully and the clothes are clean, but something to keep in mind. \n\nThe agitator is a little flimsy compared to other washers I've used. It wobbles and almost feels loose when I'm putting clothes in. I checked out the same washer at Home Depot in-store and found it to be the same. I guess this is just the way this washer is built, but I'd recommend checking out one in store before purchase. \n\nWhen I run the washer, as it shifts to different gears, it is rather noisy. It has been this way since day 1 and hasn't impacted performance. I've been keeping an eye on it and there's been no change in noise over the past year.\n\nThis washer has a lid lock, it's a pretty solid design. If you need to pause the washer or an issue occurs that causes the washer to stop, it may take a few minutes for the washer to unlock the lid. \n\nWhen I use deep clean (or medium), the washer agitates the load more intensely than prior washers. On the other side of the spectrum, when I set the washer to delicates, the washer is very gentle with the load, to the point where even a folded washcloth is likely to come out of the wash still folded. \n\nThis washer is more sensitive to out-of-balance situations than my prior washer. At first, it'll continue on, banging for a moment, but will try to rebalance. If it's not successful, the spin light will blink (indicating that it is out of balance). The only change in performance I've noticed is that it skips high-speed spin at the end. When I manually adjust the load and try to resume at this point, it clears the blinking spin light but ends the wash job. The user manual advises to set the washer to 'drain and spin' (if the clothing is still wet) in situations like that... in my personal use, if I notice an out of balance situations, pausing the washer early and adjusting the load by hand works better. This is a rare occurrence for me.\n\nThe final spin cycle is quite long, taking on average 15 minutes to complete just this last portion - very long compared to the other washers I have used. The clothing comes out very dry after spinning for so long, so that's a plus in my opinion. \n\nOccasionally, when in the final spin, the washer will squeak as it spins. This can be quite annoying, but usually lasts for just a few minutes. \n\nThis washer has worked well with the water level set to precise fill. I'd recommend that setting for most loads.\n\nThe capacity for this washer is more than sufficient for me. I've been able to place 3 days worth of gym clothes, casual clothes, and towels, and it only fills up the basket to approximately one-third full. When I do bed sheets, it still is able to fit all the clothes and sheets without issue.\n\nThe one control that it doesn't have is 'cleaning cycle' or equivalent. I run a cleaning cycle every other month and not having a simple option is unfortunate, but not a deal breaker for me. From my understanding, the recommendation is to run the washer (without clothing in the basket) on max water temp, load size, and duration for a cleaning cycle in this situation. I've also noticed that each time I run a cleaning cycle, the cycle completes with the spin light blinking (indicating that it is out of balance).\n\nThe basket is stainless steel and looks nice. It will pick up water splashes and need to be wiped down from time to time or residue will build up. \n\nPlease note, I've found a few times where water is released into the basket hours after the load has been completed. GE says this is normal. Some water remains in the spray head and as gravity pulls on the remaining water, it pools at the bottom of the spray head. Once enough water was built up, it'll release (similar to a bathroom shower head). GE's web site says as long as the amount is under a quarter cup, it is normal behavior. \n\nWhen it comes to the user manual, the documentation can be confusing, as the manual tries to cover several versions of this washer detailing functions and features that are not on this version of the washer. Please read it carefully to understand the options on this specific washer.
