On the surface this a nice simple dryer. \nPerformance is decent.\nSimple old school design\nGood size\n\nThe build quality leaves something to be desired. \nAfter 3 years the dryer stopped heating. \nAfter tearing down and testing various components it was determined that the gas valve coils were faulty. This seems premature to me.\nDuring the tear down I noticed that several of the panels are bent/ warped and out of spec and do not fit properly, one of the front panel screws was actually twisted during factory assembly.\n\nTrying to find parts was also difficult as GE only lists the entire gas valve assembly as a replaceable part instead of the coils. Which is extremely wasteful and expensive\nI found White-Rogers actually manufactures the gas valve and was able to get direct replacement gas valve coils from them.\n\nAreas for improvement\nUse higher quality components not subject to premature wear\nInclude a service panel for easy access to components (most dryers used to do this)\nBetter quality control during assembly, maybe move manufacturing back to the USA\nBetter parts availability for service.

Since my husband and I received our dryer I've been loving having my own appliances to take care of my laundry in the house and the convenience of washing whenever I need to. This have saved me so much time to get other things done and I love that it can hold so much the features are simple to understand for anyone and for it being a gas dryer it gets the job done. The one thing about this I only had an issue with is the repeated end of cycle noise it sounds loud and annoying but other than that the overall appliance is amazing and I'm glad we got it. Thank you to the people who did the installation too they were quick but efficient. They explained how to operate the appliance and also made sure it worked properly before they left.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Terrific dryer at a reasonable price! The dryer performance is exceptional and has a good amount of capacity. I love the extended tumble feature when I can not unload the dryer right away. The option to adjust the sound on the dryer buzzer is terrific so I can turn it up during the day when I'm doing housework or I can turn it off when we go to bed. This dryer is very simple to use not too loud & so far seems to be working pretty well drying the clothes very well. The lint tray is slightly hard to get out & it’s small, but does the trick. I was disappointed that it doesn’t come with a light, I know it doesn’t say it comes with a light, but I thought they always came with a light. otherwise all is well hoping it works for the next 10 to 20 years. This dryer is replacing a dryer that I had for 25 years.

I loved this dryer until I realized the cleaning of the lint screen would be more then a simple clean it every use.And use a brush for what you can't get. Unfortunately the Design and execution of lint trap system is horrendous,It takes a vacuum,and some tongs to get lint underneath lint screen.I have had unit for over a year and this frustration has led to myself posting this review over what I think is something that GE should have mastered.The lint screen doesn't catch all of lint and piles up just underneath the screen. Unfortunately someone decided to make it as small as possible so getting any standard vacuum attachment to get lint is a pain. I've enclosed pictures of my monthly collection,It could be a fire hazard if not properly managed.

I bought this dryer 2 weeks ago, it works well, pretty quiet, I love the space, and the lint filter in the front as opposed to the top like my last dryer. My king size quilted bedspread dried very well and pretty quick without having to unball it several times for it to dry thoroughly. The only things I dislike about it are no interior light and the door closes kind of hard/awkward, Otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars.

We had our old Kenmore gas dryer for about 30 years before it broke. We bought this model because it fit in our budget. It does its job as we expected. It is not fancy, not too difficult to operate, and runs with reasonable noise. We realized that it takes much longer to dry the clothes when using heat sensor, so we are sticking with cotton drying using the timer now. Otherwise, it performs like our old one.

I am satisfied with the purchase of the dryer except for the dryer buzzer at the end of the cycle. The buzzer buzzes 2 times each at a loud buzz for 15 seconds each. The only way to stop this is to go in the back of the dryer and disconnect wires. I am 95 years old and I cannot do that. I guess I can hear the dryer stop. If I miss the first buzz there is always a second reminder.

Product works fantastic so far. Assuming it will last many years. Quality of finish is solid as well. While it is a fairly basic dryer, it lacks two features that I feel even the most basic dryer should have. No heat option but does have a quick fluff and the BIG ONE, for folks not in need of the audible alarm, is the ability to turn the alarm off when the cycle is complete.

For the wonderful price I got the dryer for it's working for sure and happy with it so far! Couldn't afford to replace the one that I had and loved! This was more so in my price range. I'm happy that I have a new dryer period! Then I get a work email 40% off all GE appliances to help out even more too close for comfort!

Love that I can adjust the volume and turn off the buzzer alarm. So when I am downstairs I crank the volume and know just when it's done. So I don't forget the laundry. Seems to be working fine, the only concern is the door needs to be closed hard in order for the latch to catch and I worry about my littles fingers.

It is it as quiet as my previous dryer and it seems like it is not as good quality. The buttons are hard to turn and the door is harder to open and close. The hardware in the back cause it to stick out further and almost did not fit in the space allotted. It also seems like it takes longer for clothes to dry.

Just bought and installed gas dryer converted to propane LPG.\nHubby followed online instructions pretty simple to follow. So far large cotton load drys in 50 minutes. \nAnnoying: loud sounds nearing end of cycle. It's a reminder to get clothes out so not to get wrinkles. But wish could disable.

Our dryer was making a noise which turned out to be a piece of metal rubbing against the dryer drum. The appliance store came out the next day removed the drum and also found there was a screw missing. So far it is working good. Hope it lasts as long as our Whirlpool.

This is a very good dryer. I like the setting options. My only complaint is it takes too long to dry towels, regardless of the size of the load. I empty the lint trap after every load, so that isn't a contributing factor.

Each time you want to dry a load and leverage some kind of ‘efficient’ way to turn things off when dry, you roll the dice. The knob used for settings does not ‘click’ at a setting to quit when dry.
