I needed to replace the GFWR4805FMC pedestal model, which was not cost effective to repair because the spider broke. GE has changed their models quite a bit and finding a like replacement was impossible. \n\nAesthetically, I'm very disappointed with how this product is built - there is an inch gap on the sides between the machine and the riser, and you can see the hardware that holds the two together. It is just over a quarter inch gap in the front. If my prior matching set dryer was not on a pedestal, or required replacement, I would not have placed this item on a pedestal, because it looks cheap and unfinished. I spoke to both GE, and I went back to the store where I purchased this, and this is just how it is made. \n\nNext, part of how we knew we had an issue with the last model was how much noise it made. This model is just as loud, if not louder than our prior model. I have tried all of the different spin cycles, and adjusted everything I could possibly think of with their troubleshooting, and nothing works. This is an extremely loud machine which is unsatisfactory at this price point! \n\nBefore it is claimed that I received a "lemon" , this is the second model in 3-days that I received from the store. They installed the first one, started a test cycle to ensure all of the pipes were hooked up and nothing was leaking, and then left. I noticed during the spin cycle, after they left, how incredibly loud this machine was. As there was a separate issue with this machine and they were going to be delivering a replacement, I wrote it off to the first one being a "lemon". Now having received two that are extremely loud - unfortunately that is just how these machines are built and that is unacceptable.

I haven't tried out the auto soap dispenser yet as it takes liquid; however, I have used powder in the front dispenser. To use the auto dispenser, within the app you just change the the soap type by taking a picture of the code on your soap and it will automatically adjust to how much is needed each time. Most often I have required at least1:07-1:20 minutes to a load but in this one, I can use the quick wash and in 30 minutes my clothes are beautifully clean! The machine alerts my phone when it has 5 minutes left until finished, when the cycle is done AND how long I have left the laundry in the machine unattended. There is a notification at the machine itself telling me that I need to open the door so that I don't get mold or bacterial build up. It goes off before I can walk away to remind me! A light stays on for a minute afterwards. I am so impressed with this machine that I can't begin to tell you what a life changer it has been. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Noise is reasonable, not bad at all! Daughter's room is next door and it hasn't distracted her. It's such a large capacity that I can wash my KING BEDDING! Plus, this is such a cool feature, I only just now discovered - it keeps track of my usage on my phone such as how much hot water and cold water I used each day! The size of this washer has been a welcoming experience. My previous washer had 3.2 cubic feet and this one is way more and has easily cut down the number of wash loads per week. So many different modes on this washer and having fun experimenting with it on various clothes. The manual lists some suggested wash load but does not cover all the available modes. \n\nA major reason I got this washer is because of the ULTRAFRESH VENT System with ODORBLOCK. I have been using the ULTRAFRESH VENT after I am completed with my wash loads and it will quietly go through the Fresh Vent cycle. It usually last about 2 hours. I have noticed that when it is done with the fresh vent cycle the Microban inside the door and in the dispenser do not get completely dry. I am thinking it does not matter since they are treated with the Microban anyway. So far so good as everything smells fresh and wonderful. \n\nThe Wifi features are nice to let me know the current status of the appliance. Also, the smart dispense simplifies washing even more as I just fill up the dispenser with 50 ounces of detergent and it automatically determines how much to add to the wash load. \n\nOverall I am very happy with the product and finding ways to get more out of it.

After 23 years of daily active indoor use and two household moves from high altitude arid to tropical high humidity coastal environment or old matching high performance GE Profile washer unit started to fail us with signs of plastic drum seal components\n separating and damaging knits and \nDri-fit materials, with limited domestic parts available the choice was obvious.\nGE Profile ultra fresh vent Sys.+ and matching GE Profile steam cycle dryer. The features required by our active lifestyle and functional familiarity need was simply wide front loading, high capacity, ease of use and cleaning of cleaning products dispensary tray, various load functions. The new super cool looking matte blue units look great next to the BMW in the garage laundry, but even more they have more functions, speeds and variety of time and temperature. Also noise is half of older units. We like the steam functions but took awhile to adjust saturation levels relative to our ambient 75% humidity. Have yet to utilize full WiFi features on data devices. Our last washer was a front load washer and we struggled with mold issues. We were going to switch back to top load but we saw that GE has an answer for this problem. We are going to give it a chance and only time will tell. The features for the washer are great and are very flexible. I will say that the washer is Kinda loud. They claim that it is quiet but it is not. To be fair, the biggest issue is when the tub is filling with water. That is loud. When no water is entering the tub it's not too bad. There is a whiny sound when the machine is running that is more irritating than it is loud. Overall, I think this washer will be excellent but I will have to wait until I've had it for a while to see how it has addressed the mold issue.

While I have only had this machine for 34 days, I absolutely LOVE IT thus far!!!It is as if the engineer who designed this washer had access to my brain when including the extra "special" features, such as: extra water, extra rinse, many many wash cycles, separate water temp/spin/soil level selection for each of the many wash cycles, a "venting" feature so this front loading machine doesn't smell like a sewer after my kids and husband use it (genuis feature - I was getting tired of cleaning my old front loader all the time after my husband started doing his wash, using 4x the appropriate amount of soap, and leaving his wet washed clothes sit overnight - even days - in the washer.). All of this and more!This washing machine is GORGEOUS to look at; I never thought I would ever say that about a "chore" appliance.Btw, I have never used that adjective to descibe anything or anyone other than a baby/child.In a word, CONGRATULATIONS!!!If this machine lasts half as long as my old GE washer, which lasted nearly 13 years without a single repair, I'll be happy until I am planted in the ground.

So far so good. Love the smart dispenser for the laundry detergent. Clothes come out smelling nice, clean and spun out very well. I'm still trying to figure out how to get "my settings" to work. Using the app with this machine and it's nice to get the notification that I have x amount of time left for the wash cycle. It even notifies me when the laundry has sat in the washing machine for x mins after the end of the cycle. No complaints so far. Time will tell. My last washing machine from a different brand only lasted 8 years before a costly repair was required. Cheaper to buy new than repair which is such a shame as this contributes to some of the issues with our environment.

I love this machine, so far. I've only had it for 5 weeks and I'm still learning it. For basic everyday cycles, it's wonderful. I love that I can adjust some cycles' water temp to "Extra Hot" for those stinky loads that need it. The drum holds a large load of jeans with no off-balancing. I'm looking forward to trying the Steam Cycles. And the Venting cycle, after a day of washing, is great to keep odors/mold occurring in the drum. OH! The automatic detergent distribution feature is something I wasn't used to but I'm finding it distributes the proper amount for load sizes AND I'm not over filling the detergent cup or using as much soap, either!

The product looks great. Has more features then I will ever use. But is quite expensive for a washer unit. Pros: -Fast and efficient -The SmartDispense is a useful feature -Clothes smell fresh -SmartHQ app is great for sending my phone a notification when the load is complete -Many advanced features Cons: -Sound is loud, but about average for washers at similar size -The plastic panel and metal encasement scratches easily -The Microban material does have a strong smell -The UltraFresh Vent system doesn't fully dry the inside ring, and takes a while to finish -Cost -Front door is heavy, and often slams shut loudly if not careful

Capacity, performance, features galore !! I love, love this washer so far and am praying it lasts.First things first, this washer is HEAVY so if you plan on moving it yourself,DON\u2019T!! Hoping this means it\u2019s durable as I have no complaints thus far. We used the level and again be sure you have 2 people ( one to push at the top of the washer to ease the weight off the adjustable legs and the other-will adjust the bolts usinga wrench with ease!)once level the washer is super quiet. I love that you can add extra water to the load with the touch of a button or extra soap.The rubber seal does catch a LOT of hair so be sure to clean this often. The vent cycle takes quite some time but does efficiently dry the inside to prevent musty odors. The spin cycle is exceptional, it has cut drying time by 35-40 minutes depending on load size.\nGreat all around so far so good and so far we are more than happy with our purchase. Hoping to add the dryer soon!! I most definitely recommend this washer!!!

The door opens and closes with ease, it is one of the quietest machines I have ever had. This machine is great for odor control It has a ventilation system which allows for the machine to not get musty. The installation and assembly of the machine was very straightforward and very easy to connect to the app over WiFi, which has some really great convenient features and settings allowing you to customize each load of laundry you do with many different cycle options. I wasn't really in the market for a new washer. I bought it because my 3.5 year old GE washer just like it (slightly older model) decided to go out (motor, pulley system, and inverter.) I did not buy the extended warranty because the motor comes with a 10 yr and I figured a quality name like GE would get me through at least a decade. Of course, I was wrong.\n\nI will spare you the gory details of my service experience but it was truly awful. You have to play the GE game and, well, just Google and read the reviews on it. In short, we went over a month without a functioning washer (family of four) and still had no line-of-sight into getting it fixed. The motor was covered (part only) but, since the rest was out of warranty, the other two issue plus labor would have cost basically as much as a new unit.\n\nAfter the service experience and disappointment in the quality of the washer, you'd think I would have purchased another brand. Believe me, I went that direction but this washer is very highly rated among sites. Is it the definition of insanity? Maybe. I'll tell you in about 3.5 years. I sprung for the extended warranty this time though. :-/

I love the washer! Pouring the whole bottle of tide in at onceā¦ genius! My only hesitation is I canāt seem to get the door to close. I canāt seem to figure out the rhyme or reason as to why it closes sometimes and not others. Iāve tried slamming, Iāve tried gentle. Iāve tried leaning on it. Great washer, Cycle completes in the amount of time that it states (usually), and it seems to do a great job of washing clothes. Able to fit a King Sized comforter and spin well. Probably a few too many steam cycles, but oh well. What I DON'T like is the fact that some of the cycles from my old machine are gone (sheets, drain and spin, etc.) I'm sure if I connected to wi-fi I may be able to download the cycles, but WHY DO I NEED TO CONNECT TO WI-FI???? That is totally unnecessary.

Like, I sometimes have to double-check itās actually running because I canāt hear a thing. Also love how spacious it is. Washing bedding used to be a whole ordeal and now itās easy. And the rinse/spin cycle does a great job wringing out excess water, so clothes come out barely damp, but gentle enough without damaging the clothes. \nThere are also a ton of cycles options towels, bedding, delicates, sanitize, plus all the regular ones so thereās pretty much a setting for everything. The clothes come out very clean. The detergent, fabric softener, and bleach compartments do not leak (with bleach this is critical), it is relatively quiet, especially when spin cycle is running. \n\nThe one downside thus far as been the lack of a spin only cycle that would be very helpful when washing mixed loads. Absolutely love this washer and dryer set. The washer is so quiet, quick, user-friendly! I left clothes in there for 2 days accidentally and it didn't smell at all, therefor I didn't have to rewash! Love the ventilation feature, so i can leave the door closed after each wash. The capacity is so amazing for our family size. I wait to do laundry on Sundays and they've eliminated a whole nother load of laundry that needs done, saving time and money. The dryer is much more reliable and efficient as well. They are beautiful. The only issue I've had with them is pairing them to the App and it draws a ton from my internet. I turned off the wifi on both sadly. It could just be they're too far away from the router. Definitely happy with our purchase!

Bought the set to replace our 16 year old Whirlpool Duet set. Washer is a little noisier when the water flows in and during the spin cycle. We were also experiencing significant water hammer effect. I installed two water hammer arrestors at the water connections and can barely hear it now. Like others said, the fresh vent system isnāt worth engaging. Like with the whirlpool set, we leave the door and dispenser tray open. All these things are minor for us. We noticed a significant improvement in clothes cleanliness and the large capacity reduces the number of loads. We love the WiFi connection to the SmartHQ app which helps remind us the washer or dryer is done. Hoping we stay happy for a while.

This is our first time buying a GE washing machine. We got today and started using it today. Itās loud. We have the door to the wash room closed and you can clearly still hear it. It seams to clean the clothes good and it is much more roomier than our Samsung (which was a 5.5 cubic) I like to control panel and automation. Itās really easy to use.

I am absolutely impressed with this new machine. I had been battling my 2002 Maytag front-load washer recently, after years of reliable service. Was at point of 'dreading' doing laundry, and dealing with error codes... WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! I am so glad I made to the decision to upgrade to this unit, including the 15" pedestal that makes it even easier to load/unload. After extensive online research of machines, reviews, and reliability -- I found a very competitive price. It's now an actual pleasure to do laundry -- the washer and dryer even let me know with phone notifications when loads are done. Only regret is that I didn't get these great machines sooner. Thank you!

The controls are simple to use, the washer is energy efficient and extremely quiet!\nThe pedestal is making laundry loading & unloading a breeze. I love all the storage space inside the pedestal drawer. \nI love the large capacity for our bedspreads & blankets. Our bedding comes out clean with all excess water spun out of the fabric like no other washer I have used. The light inside the washer helps me to see if I have gotten all the clothes out too. What a great feature. There so many different wash cycles to choose from too.

I replaced a Samsung front loader with this GE brand. The new one from GE is quiet, larger, and have more cleaning options than the other brand. I am enjoying my washer. We also purchased a base and the anti vibration stoppers that dampen the sound. I believe it is well worth the money.
