The Center Control panel was a highlight in the reviews I saw before selecting this model and it's integrated between the washer and dryer, making the unit look clean and streamlined.\n\nEase of Use\nUsing this Washtower has been a breeze. The Center Control panel is right in the middle, which is great because everything is within easy reach. The controls are very intuitive, and I didn’t have to spend much time figuring them out. I'm curious to see how the "AI" works but seems to be effective at it's job—it detects the weight and fabric type of our laundry and optimizes the wash cycle accordingly. It’s provided very impressive results in the ~10 loads we've completed since its arrival.\n\nEnergy Efficiency\nWe’ve been trying to be more conscious about our energy consumption, and this Washtower fits right into our plans. Both the washer and dryer are designed to be energy-efficient. The washer’s technology has definitely improved our washing to be more effective in terms of energy usage and I look forward to our next water bill to see how that's impacted. The dryer’s heat pump is particularly impressive, claiming to use 50% less energy compared to traditional dryers. I've noticed it takes a good bit longer to complete dryer cycles but if it's that much more efficient and ventless, I'm ok with that. I haven't noticed any excessive ambient heat output in the laundry room either. The dryer is supposed to recycle heat within the machine, which means it dries efficiently and gently.\n\nCapacity\nI’ll admit, we were a bit concerned about the smaller capacity of the 2.8 cu. ft. washer compared to our previous unit. While we're only a 2-person household, between work uniforms, workout clothes, and dog towels/bed covers, we do a lot of laundry. However, we’ve found it more than adequate for our needs. The washer can handle king-sized sheets with ease, which was a must. It seems the smaller capacity has also contributed to improving the energy efficiency - albeit our last machine came with the house and likely 10+ years old.\n\nInstallation and Mobility\nOne thing to note is that this Washtower comes pre-stacked, which means you don’t have the option to place the washer and dryer side by side. While the stacked configuration is great for saving space, it does make the unit more cumbersome to move into place. I highly recommend using the professional install option to ensure it can be safely moved and set up in your home. Our installers said it was one of the heaviest and cumbersome machines they've had to move but I didn't help so take that for what it's worth. The professionals can handle the weight and maneuvering, making the installation process much smoother and stress-free.\n\nMonitoring and Control with LG ThinQ\nOne of my pleasant surprise features is the LG ThinQ integration. We can monitor and control laundry cycles remotely using the smartphone app. It gives us real-time updates on the cycle status, sends notifications when a cycle is done, and even suggests optimal cycles based on the load type. Plus, the app helps us track power consumption, giving us insights to manage and reduce our energy usage more effectively. The machine also has a download feature which gives you access to ~dozens more cycles if you're wanting to be ultra prescriptive with a preset feature.\n\nConclusion\nOverall, the Washtower has been a fantastic addition to our home. It’s sleek, easy to use, energy-efficient, and packed with smart features that make laundry much more manageable. While the capacity is smaller than our previous washer, it perfectly suits our two-adult household and has likely improved our energy efficiency. The pre-stacked design may require professional installation, but the convenience and performance of this unit make it well worth it. We’re very happy with the significantly improved laundry results and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a compact, efficient, and smart laundry solution.
