Navigating the function for screen lighting, clarity, and colors are difficult. Set up was not plug and play. I thought it was. I had to search the web for help fine tuning or working good. Many pre-sets for connecting to the web, changing the default for apps such as gmail were not easy to locate. \r\n Getting started with this new laptop was much more difficult and time consuming than it was my for my Slim HP with Intel COREi5. The quality of the video is better, it is faster, and easier to maneuver through settings. Not perfect but is much easier than my new laptop. \r\n Im sure someone with more computer skills than me could improve my experience. I like the look and size of the laptop. It is great. The price was very good. Power cord could be another foot longer. Way too many ads. Hard to delete them without going through a lot of delete features. I know that's not necessarily an HP problem but all these problems could be and should be placed into an easy to read and follow instruction guide.

My last 17" HP Laptop lasted about 10 years before the no replaceable battery warned me of 6% life left and I knew it was time for a replacement, so I purchased this one at a remarkably great value. All is well with this one for the first couple of weeks, except for the white printing on the keys on the keyboard are already fading to the point that I have already had to purchase a stencil set to put over the keys so I can readd them. My old HP Laptop did not have this problem after 10 years, and the keyboard keys on it still appear like new, so I am quite disappointed in the way that the keys on this new PC have faded so drastically so soon

Solid computer. Runs as expected. Wanted a middle of the road laptop for some gaming and some productivity things. Runs the games I play pretty well at normal settings.\r\n\r\nThis is a 4star review because the only caveat with this computer is the battery life. It really isn't so bad when you're browsing the web, but when you happen to be playing a game (of any kind) as expected it drains the battery- way faster than you would expect. I'm talking about you got an hour or so until you better get it plugged in and charging. Still happy with the laptop, would like a little more life out of this battery though.

I am really fussy about my technology.\n\nClearly they have done a great job packing almost everything just short of the kitchen sink.\n\nOkay I would really like a backlit keyboard and a slot for my memory sticks. Turning on an overhead light and a USB adaptor solves those issues.\n\nThe price makes it even better, this is my "on the couch" laptop, so lots of internet searching, product reviews and shopping. I also do a significant amount of number crunching for my investments and all get done quickly.

Obsessed with my new laptop! It's like 3 lbs! I love the large display, the touch screen, the privacy shutter was a nice surprise! The backlit keyboard is EVERYTHING! I'm a blogger and I'm so so happy with this laptop, I'm on it like 10 hrs a day! My only gripe is I wish it had the facial recognition since I built it brand new and for the price, the fingerprint reader is nice though! The battery life also isn't the BEST but I still LOVE this thing! Such a nice upgrade compared to my decade old HP. Can't believe I suffered so long lol, I thought that one was great! The graphics on this thing are NUTS as well!🩷

No problems yet with the dopey power button placement (next to delete) despite it timing to off even if you choose sleep. The boot is fast enough not to be a problem. \r\nIt took a while to find contrast for the display although brightness was easy, on max (default) it was too bright and washed out although that might work for outside use. Oddly the keypad is all in caps which I find disconcerting.\r\nOverall good value, not 5 star because of the power button and too few USBs.

I am enjoying my HP - but I am disappointed that the keyboard does not have backlighting. Also disappointed that I cannot remove or rearrange some of the icons on the taskbar. Some can be removed - some can be rearranged - some cannot. It also took me a whole to figure out how to locate the list of programs on my laptop. After clicking the blue square icon in the taskbar, I then need to click on See More on the upper right of the display of icons. Otherwise, I am enjoying it

When a computer is working fine, you don't notice anything, and overall, this is working fine and smoothly. So here's what I hate: the touchpad, "mouse" buttons. It is all one thing, no separate left or right button, it is all part of the touchpad. This sucks in photoshop when I have to use multiple fingers on one touchpad. I will end up with a separate wireless mouse--which is fine. But if anything specific could be improved, give me a touchpad and 2 seperate buttons.

This looks to be a fine laptop. The size and solid feel are great, but not too heavy. Very quiet and casual browsing the fan is either off or too quiet to hear. Looking forward to using it for livestreaming high quality video and audio with a USB audio interface without stressing it.\nOnly minor complaint is touch pad tap is a bit sensitive resulting in unwanted "clicks." Tried to reduce sensitivity and may disable altogether if that doesn't work.

I am pleased overall with my new laptop. I would have liked a couple additional USB ports and I don't like that the on/off button is buried on the Function key line. This is my first time using Windows 11 and I do not like it as much as Windows 8-10. Things that were intuitive with previous Windows OS require more work to accomplish with Windows 11. That, however, isn't an HP issue. The laptop itself is durably built, light, and powerful.

I was using my son's hp laptop and really liked it. I have started university and decided to buy myself a hp laptop . I bought a 17 inch but when it arrived I thought the screen was too big but after using it a couple of times I realised I really liked it because I didn't strain my eyes and my work was so clear to see. Other students were complimenting my new purchase. It has everything I need for my assignments. I'm really happy with it. The larger screen makes it great for watching movies and gaming too. I would recommend 😊

When I first got the computer it would just close the app I was in for no reason after a few minutes. I had a hard time updating. I finally got it to update. Windows 11. Now it seems to work ok. Hope it continues to work. Has not thrown me out of an app for awhile now. So all seems good. It seems to get very hot on the bottom however. Never had a laptop get hot like this one before. Will see how it goes

I've owned HP computers before and always been extremely pleased. My previous laptop served me well for over ten years but it became unsupported so I had to move on. This new laptop lives up to expectations. Easy to set up and personalise. Sturdy construction but lightweight. And I love the large screen. Makes it great for watching a movie. The PC is fast. I only use it for browsing and some emails etc and seems a bit of a waste for just doing that. Makes everything a pleasure. Thank you HP for getting it right again.

To date, I have been very pleased with the laptop. I realize that the two things I am about to mention in the review are both cosmetic but might be meaningful to some. The keys are not smooth. They each have the outline of whatever letter or number raised (think Braille). The second is the plastic the surrounds the keyboard. It is black but also is covered with lots of white specs. I keep wanting to wipe it off as it looks like it is covered with dust. Again, I realize this may be completely irrelevant to some.

I like the laptop. It starts in just seconds and when I shut it down it's just as quick. The battery doesn't last as long as I hoped, but it does take a few hours of running before I have to plug it in and re-charge the battery. A lot of it depends on how many apps are running in the background. I turned off the ones I don't use much. I use my wireless mouse and keyboard with the laptop and it works great. This is not considered a gaming laptop but it does quite well with the ones I've tried like WoW and Diablo III.

I guess it was my fault, but every HP computer and laptop have always had a cd drive. Imagine my surprise when I look for the CD drive to play some music on! Oh and I did add a goodly amount of money to get what I wanted as addons. Other than that the computer is fast (upgraded), storage is good (upgraded) and the visuals are wonderful.

The hardware is sound. Functionality solid. One headache is Microsoft in their monopolistic controls sends out laptop in safe mode so you can only load their apps. There is a way to turn off safe mode but it isn't that simple. Microsoft does not want to help you. They are greedy. The hp hardware and workability is excellent. I would have given it a 5 except for Microsoft glitch.before you buy, bone up on how to shutter safe mode off from these devices

Great laptop. It came and was delivered on time and has a great speed and memory. Love the keyboard layout and as the full numeric keypad which is a win. The only thing is if you are used to using the OLED screen this has a slightly reduced screen resolution. But it is still a really great laptop and I am happy with my purchase.

Mostly a very great computer. I just have a couple of complaints. 1st of all, it's very hard to open. And also, I do not like all the little little spots on it that make it look like a picture of outer space that the James Webb telescope took. Also, the on/off switches in a very weird place. Why did they do that?

I predominantly use my HP Pavilion desktop; I purchased the HP laptop to take with me on a six-month excursion to Mexico. Having set it up with the help of an HP agent, I am becoming acquainted with it, and finding it to be an efficient device that I look forward to using on my extensive trip. Two HP agents were indispensable in helping with transfer of the desktop files via the PC Mover, which completed the task without a hitch.

I bought my next HP laptop two weeks ago and wanted to say how pleased I am with it. The keyboard, in particular, feels like it has separate keys. Coming from the last century, I learnt to type on a typewriter, so I need to feel the edges of keys in order to word process without looking at the keys. It's 17" so I'm able to see the work easily. The previous laptop was reliable, and both are visibly sleek in silver.

The HP 17tcn300 is a very good laptop. I like everything about it and it works fantastic The 17" screen is enjoyable to use. The set up was easy and very straight forward. Also using Laplink made moving from the old pc to the new one easy, quick and without issues.\r\n This laptop is used daily for home uses and occasionally for a small business. \r\n I would definitely recommend HP, and this laptop.

I always buy an HP laptop. My only complaint is that the battery doesn't last long enough. When I finish using it, I close the top but don't shut it down. Normally there would still be some battery time left when I open it again, but I always have to plug it in to use it.

I like the size of the laptop and the color of the keyboard because I have an issue seeing the keys and the black background and white letters work for me. However, there were other laptops that had better features and more storage space, but the colors didn't work for me.

Another great HP laptop! This laptop was purchased as my last HP Pavilion purchased 12 years ago was not working as efficiently as needed. The performance is fantastic and works for what I need. The larger screen size makes it easy to work on projects while traveling and away from my dual monitors. The price, performance, and fast shipping is why I would recommend purchasing this product.

Very nice. I love the wide screen, Much lighter than I anticipated. High Quality. 2 weeks in and I'm still learning about the different bells and whistles this has. Nice and roomy keyboard, so no fat finger syndrome on this baby. Price is a bit on the high side for me, but so far it is well worth what I paid for it. The easiest set-up to start with I have ever exsperienced.

The computer works well, \r\nSadly the case is so slick that it makes it hard to pick up and hold on to. \r\nI have dropped it already due to the surface being so slick it slipped right out of my hand despite holding on tightly. Definitely needs to be addressed
