Sonic team and Sega are finally headed in the right direction as Sonic x Shadow Generations really lays the foundation for future games. I was really impressed with this package as it exceeded my expectations. It has essentially two games, the main one being Sonic Generations obviously, which is a remaster of a game from 2011 and then Shadow Generations which is an all new added campaign for Shadow that takes place simultaneously as Sonic's campaign. Overall Sonic Generations is a good game that they don't really add much or change except for a few things like dialogue or added chao missions which is expected. The game was great as it was, and the graphics hold up nicely, so there's no point in really changing much. Now Shadow Generations for me personally was the thing that really made me purchase this package and I'm glad I did. They took everything from their last game in Sonic Frontiers and improved upon it so much. The gameplay, level design, and control feels so much more refined. And the story finally feels like they're taking things seriously now as Shadow has not had good writing in over a decade. Its good to see he's getting justice. Overall this is a must buy for any Sonic fan. And for any casuals, that's not really played much of Sonic, this would be a great start

The game came a little late. Once I got it I had several hours of fun if you like the original sonic generations then you would like the remastered generations. The only thing I'm going to say about remastered sonic generations part is that when playing the remastered part switch or controls back to legacy because standard is very very annoying to play with for shadow generations part. It is amazing to see some of the past levels brought back to life, I would also recommend to put shadow generations control scheme to Legacy With that said I'd give this game five stars and 10 out of 10 would buy again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I played the ps3 version a lot growing up after playing this version the rewrite of the line for the original sonic generation actually work and make it seem like they care about the game unlike ps3 version where they sound like they dont care. The frame rate is faster and sometimes I keep forgetting it's not 30 FPS anymore and it look like they also fixed the visuals too. A very wonderful remake of an already great Sonic game, Sonic X Shadow generations is technically 2 games in one package, The original Generations and Shadow's generations. Both parts of the game are really good, The Sonic generations part remained almost the same, the only thing added was the drop dash for both modern and classic sonic. Oh yeah and apparently chaos are in this game, but not like in a chao garden. As for Shadow's part, the controls are different, physics are different aswell as the gameplay with its own story, to no avail this part is great too

The price is very reasonable. It's cheaper than what you would get in store especially at GameStop it's overpriced\n\n\nAnd I love sonic just as any fan of the next game, but I gotta say this game was a huge snooze fest if you're a fan of sonic mini or saw any titles of sonic adventure then this definitely isn't for you I give the pricing and itself a 10 to 10 but the gameplay in the plot of sonic shadow generations is just so horrible and it kinda makes me regret buying it. I would give the plot of the game of 1 out of 10.

sonic generations is a fun trip down memory lane thats enjoyable whether or not youre familiar with the series. likewise, shadow generations is a fresh new campaign thats incredibly fun and exciting, with fast paced platforming paired with flashy set pieces and gorgeous animation. two immensely satisfying games in one package, could not recommend more to both new and old sonic fans. spent the year looking forward to its release and even as a lifelong fan of the series i had all my expectations blown away

This game is an absolutely incredible experience. Going back into Shadow's past through remastered levels and bosses was so nostalgic, but still an overall great time. His new doom powers were an incredible addition to his character as well, each of them being important to get through certain sections, and overall just being very cool powers to use throughout the game. Overall, the perfect game for the Fearless Year of Shadow.

I bought this as a gift for my wife and now I can't use my PS5 because she's busy playing Sonic! This is a great game - especially with the multiple versions of Sonic. There's a version for everyone and it's easy to cross over and play all of them. I enjoy playing it, too. Great for kids and families. I grew up playing Sonic on SEGA and this is nostalgia at its best.

I picked up Sonic Shadows Generations for my Nintendo Switch and I'm honestly really impressed. 2 amazing games in one. Sonic games are the one titles I can beat and will come back and play again and these 2 are no different. The shadow game is short, but it plays so good, and it has a perfect dark story for shadow. This game alone brought my faith in the Sonic devs not completely screwing up games like they have been for awhile now.

It's the same game from the Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles except now on the Switch 2. One thing you should take note of is release is a game key card. In other words, you'll need to download the entirety of the game before playing. Paradoxically if you have the Switch version you can carry over your save data but not your DLC. You'll have to buy it again as there is also no upgrade option. My advice would be that if you need the Switch 2 version just buy it through the Nintendo eShop. Other wise the game supports up to 4K and 60 fps.

Awesome game devoloped by SEGA. except for the fact that levels close to the end of shadow generations part of Sonic X Shadow generations are 25 times more difficult and hard mode bosses are 100 times more difficult to complete, but other than that, still an AWESOME game from 2024 that i played in 2025.

Great graphics and storyline. My kids love playing this games. The game has all the bosses from the other Sonic games it will grasp their attention and keep them interested and intrigued for a while definitely recommend.

I don't care much for Shadow as a character, so haven't checked out his campaign yet. Mainly bought to play Sonic Generations on the go, which has worked out perfectly. Looks way better than Frontiers did on Switch.

Like the play. It's one of the sonics that don't have problems and looks good on the switch which is the most ideal. The ps5 does improve graphics or play better so the SW1 is the best to me.
