At first, I was very disappointed when I tried to use this adapter. I had already thrown away the packing materials and was all set to write it off as not being appropriate for attaching an external SSD to my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Fast forward to the good news ... with the right peripheral this works great! \r\n \r\nInitially, I was trying to transfer photos to a SanDisk 2TB Extreme Pro SSD but it would quickly fail. Even though I had the adapter attached to a 12W charger, I would see an error message, something to the effect that the peripheral needed more power than could be delivered. \r\n \r\nThankfully, I had a second type of SSD and I gave that a try. It must use less power than the SanDisk because I am now successfully transferring photos from my iPhone to a T7 Shield 2TB SSD.

I got a portable SSD HD for my iPhone 12 Pro to save all my video footage. I have plenty of storage space on my iPhone, but I learned in film school that you must have a 2nd place for storage…just in case. This adapter works great. I tried one that should work, but it needs another port to stick in a power source. This adapter has two- one for my HD and one for power. The only con is that the price is high. It's a genuine Apple product.

Pulled the product right out of the packaged plugged it up to my camera on the USB side. Then into my iPad on the lighting plug side . Than turned my camera on and BOOM! Pops right up on my iPad and ask me if I would like to import . You click yes and the download starts! Than what I thought really was cool is after the import it ask you if you would like to erase all the pics off your camera since they are now on your iPad! You click yes and it takes care of that for you too! Love this item !

With this adapter I can use a lot of different devices for my iPhone. My iPhone is my computer most of the time, and now I can connect a keyboard or camera or just download files, photos and videos to my flash drive. I plan to order a Ethernet to USB adapter for those cases when I am in a camper or a building in areas with low service, I can plug the Ethernet cable right into the phone.

I use this cable to download pictures from my Nikon D5200 to my iPad Air and sometimes to mi iPad mini. My iPad Air immediately recognize the process and the download speed is fast enough . I was about to buy a card reader for my iPad Air, to do the same thing, but with all the negative reviews about the card reader I opt for this cable.

Works great for what I wanted and expected. Some movies off of you tube appear not as clear but I not sure if its my phone you tube or just cause its streaming or if its from going from a phone to a big TV screen.
