I was pleasantly surprised about the quality and taste. I especially was surprised that there was a recipe in the back of the container to show you exactly how to make it so that it would come out perfectly. I used chicken stock with mine and it was delicious even my husband liked it and he does not normally Like quinoa. I made it as a side dish. Better nutrition than white rise. I highly recommend this item.

"Betterbody Organic Quinoa" = Better For Your Body
Reviewed on www.walmart.com·LOYAL2WMT
Acquiring a better body requires "Betterbody Foods Organic Quinoa". Quinoa's quintessential qualities are quite impressive. Actually, Quinoa is pronounced "KEEN-wah". Factually, Quinoa has been cultivated in the Andes for five thousand years. Traditionally, Quinoa had been referred to as "Mother Grain" and "The Gold of The Incas". Yes, that's a fact. Additionally, as a matter of fact, Quinoa is technically not a grain, but is actually a seed. Quinoa, formerly almost exclusively available in health food stores, has been rapidly increasing in popularity during recent years. Quinoa can currently be found throughout many supermarkets and in various forms. Quinoa is often used as an alternative substitute for starchier, mushier foods(i.e. pasta, rice, etc.). While oats are a mushy mushy, sticky wholegrain, it's another healthfully beneficial food. Just saying. That's all. Of course, at this point, you're likely questioning what this quantity of actually factually qualitative information has to do with "Betterbody Foods Organic Quinoa". Well, my answer to this understandable query is that it's certainly something and just about everything. I do think these basic background details on Quinoa are mighty interesting. In my perspective, it's good to learn, good to know. Oh, I've heard that many others share the same, or a similar, viewpoint. Well, is that an actual fact? So? I am waiting for a response to my question. Oh, well, okay, in any case, more importantly, I will now move on to the more relevant specifics of "Betterbody Foods Organic Quinoa". Yes, indeed, it's even better to acquire a better body by buying and eating "Betterbody Organic Quinoa". Your tastebuds will be happy, too. In this size container, there are approximately fifteen servings(1/4 cup - 43 grams per serving). Actually, that's the suggested serving size. Factually, serving sizes are dependant upon one's own particular preferrences and needs. Quinoa has a deliciously sweet and nutty flavor. It does not possess the bitterness found in some other wholegrains. "Betterbody Foods" combined three colors of Quinoa(each with respectively different flavors) so as to effect a delectable blend of Quinoa and a delightful experience for your tastebuds. Quinoa is rather high in fiber and provides a bountiful quantity of essential nutrients. Quinoa contains a natural source of protein, magnesium, and fiber. Quinoa is incredibly easy to prepare and serve. Simply, let it sit in water for just a liitle while, cook to a boil for about 15 minutes, and fluff a bit for even better texture. That's about all you've got to do. Ready to serve and enjoy. Furthermore, there are various manners in which to prepare Quinoa. It's great when served in a general form. Also, great for lunches, picnics, and at suppertime. There are many very versatile applications for Quinoa. Again, how and when Quinoa is prepared/served will ultimately be according to one's own preferrences and/or needs. Yet, an additional fact to bear in mind is that Quinoa is an excellent food product for vegetarians/vegans, as it provides a natural source of complete plant protein. Quinoa is especially beneficial for persons who may have an excessive sensitivity to gluten, sugar, and/or sodium. Quinoa is gluten-free, as well as low in sugar and sodium. Actually, I've known of Quinoa, from mere observation, for quite some time. Above and beyond all facts, I, undoubtedly, owe my thanks to Betterbody and, of course, Walmart for introducing me to this wonderfully delicious, nutritious, sweetly nutty flavored, light and fluffy textured food product. We should not need to place a price on what makes our bodies healthy and happy. If need be, however, there's no need to look elsewhere. Walmart offers "Betterbody Organic Quinoa" at a most reasonable price. All right, I shall conclude this session of course Quinoa 101. The bell has rung. So, now, please proceed to your Walmart shopping cart and checkout your purchase of this fine product. Order "Betterbody Organic Quinoa" immediately, and continue to do so in the near future. Thanks again, Betterbody and Walmart! Oh, by the way, in absolute conclusion, I must say one more thing, which is also a matter of fact. Hope my product review serves as beneficial toward my fellow Walmart customer's buying decisions.

Good quality product and a healthy alternative to pasta or rice. It is one of our “superfood”. It is a seed but we prepare it and eat it like a grain. Was cultivated in ancient time by the Incas 5000 years ago. GLUTEN FREE for those who cannot tolerate wheat. More people should eat it. It is very versatile in many ethnic recipes.

Quinoa is quickly becoming one...
Reviewed on www.walmart.com·MimiReviews
Quinoa is quickly becoming one of the most in-demand health foods on the planet and it's easy to understand why. Not only is it extremely nutritious, it's delicious and easy to make, too! Quinoa may be relatively new on the health and fitness food scene, but it has been around for thousands of years. The ancient Incas living in the Peruvian Andes were the first to cultivate it. They viewed the crop as sacred and referred to it as "chisaya mama" or “Mother of all Grains,” which is very fitting since quinoa just so happens to be a superfood. In fact, it was so revered by the Incas that the emperor himself would come out to traditionally sow the first seeds of the season with special tools made out of gold.\r\n\r\nI love BetterBody Foods products and consider them the "gold standard" when it comes to quinoa. It's certainly one of the best brands on the market today in terms of taste, quality, and affordability. BetterBody Foods Quinoa comes sealed in a nice thick plastic jar with a screw on lid that locks in freshness. It is certified organic, which is a must when consuming any type of grain as they tend to leech harmful chemicals and heavy metals from the soil they're grown in. \r\n\r\nSo what makes quinoa a superfood? Well, “superfood” is really just a sensationalized way of saying “food with high nutritional value.” And what we know for sure when it comes to quinoa, is that it's packed with nutrients. Quinoa is one of the few plant foods that contain all nine essential amino acids: isoleucine, leucine, lysine, phenylalanine, tyrosine, cysteine, methionine, threonine, histidine, tryptophan and valine. It is also high in fiber, magnesium, B-vitamins, iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin E and various beneficial antioxidants. \r\n\r\nA typical serving of quinoa provides 14 grams of protein per 100 grams of quinoa. Quinoa is also energy-dense, packing more calories than your typical grain, which makes it perfect for supporting an active lifestyle. (i.e. being an Inca warrior!) It fills you up, gives you sustained energy and has a low glycemic index, which makes it an excellent addition to a diabetic diet. Quinoa is also non-GMO and gluten-free.\r\n\r\nQuinoa is a versatile grain that is often substituted for rice, couscous, farro, hemp seed, millet, orzo, risotto, tabbouleh, and wheat. It can be sprinkled into soups, boiled in broth until fluffy in the microwave or on your stove top, fried in a skillet to give it an extra nutty flavor, ground into gluten-free flour and baked into your favorite breads and cookies, popped like popcorn, sprouted and then added to salads and smoothies, or simply eaten raw. Raw quinoa will stay fresh for months at a time, if stored properly in an air-tight container. Cooked quinoa should be refrigerated for a few days and can be frozen for long-term storage, so you can make a lot of it all at once then simply reheat when ready to use.\r\n\r\nAs you can see, you really can't go wrong with BetterBody Foods Quinoa. There are plenty of reasons to add this amazing grain to your diet and even more ways to prepare it. The possibilities are truly limitless. So what are you waiting for?

Have you ever heard the saying that goes like this: Never judge a book by its cover? Well I have to admit that I kind of did that when I first received this Organic Quinoa from Betterbodyfoods. I looked at it, scrounged up my nose, and thought, there is no way I am going to like this. It looks just like birdseed!!! \r\nI went ahead and decided to try it. I read, or tried to read the directions on the back of the jar on how to make the Quinoa. The print is so super tiny and is on a dark red background. I got my reading glasses out and still could not read the print. I finally had to call my granddaughter over to read it out to me.\r\nI followed the directions and made my first pot of Quinoa. I did not like it at all. It had such a bitter taste to it. I asked my husband to try it, he did not like it and he usually likes everything. I asked my granddaughter to taste it, but she did not like it either. A few minutes later, my son came over to pick up my granddaughter and he saw the pot still on the stove. He asked me what it was and then he tried it. Guess what? He loved it!!! I thought, wow, if he likes it, maybe I did something wrong when I cooked it.\r\nI went online and found a recipe for cooking Quinoa. It stressed that it is very important to rinse it thoroughly because there are saponins on the outside of the Quinoa that can make it taste bitter. It said to put it in a fine mesh strainer to make sure it all gets rinsed well and does not fall. I did rinse my first batch, but it kept falling out of my colander. The second batch I cooked, I rinsed the Quinoa in my flour sifter. It made a huge difference. I actually really liked it!!! There was no bitter taste at all!!! I could not stop eating it. The next time I cook some I am going to replace the water with chicken broth to see if that will make it even tastier.\r\nThere are so many health benefits with Quinoa. It is one of the most protein rich foods that we eat. It contains almost two times the amount of fiber as most grains. It contains iron, lysine, is rich in magnesium, and is high in riboflavin. Quinoa is easy to digest and it is gluten free.\r\nQuinoa is harvested in Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Columbia, and Chile. It was considered sacred by the Incas and they called it “the Mother seed”. It was their staple food for 5,000 years. In the 1980's two Americans discovered it and starting growing it in Colorado. There are more than 200,00 pounds now grown every year in the Rocky Mountains. \r\nIt is best to store your Quinoa in an airtight container, if you keep it in the refrigerator, it will stay good for about 3-6 months.\r\nI am giving the Betterbodyfoods 4 out of 5 stars. I like the packaging and jar that it comes in, but I did not like that I could not read the print on the back of the container. It should not have been printed on such a dark color which made it almost impossible to see. I am exited to try out lots of recipes with my new found food!!! I love that it is so healthy and full of so many good things for my body. I hope you will get your jar of Quinoa and enjoy it too!!!

So what is Quinoa? Quinoa is a Seed! Although quinoa has been a hot health food for awhile, I actually did not know what it really was and I did not know what are the health benefits to quinoa until my friend educated me. According to healthline.com, quinoa is gluten-free, high in protein, and one of the few plant foods that contain all 9 essential amino acids. It is high in fiber, magnesium, B-vitamins, iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin E, and various beneficial antioxidants. Ok, now with all this nutritional value, I have to give it a try! The Betterbody Foods Organic Quinoa is a blend of white, red and black grains combination. a very healthy alternative to rice and oatmeal. I have always made rice in a rice cooker and thought maybe quinoa will work the same way. With 1 part quinoa and 2 parts water, it cooked well in the rice cooker. I found a quinoa fried rice recipe online. Here is the website for the recipe for those of you who are interested: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/237819/quinoa-fried-rice/?internalSource=pnm&referringId=15592&referringContentType=recipe%20hub. The dish came out pretty good. I really liked the taste, the texture, and because it is tri-color, the dish looked really colorful. I have to say, I just love rice too much and quinoa cannot replace rice in my heart, but because of the great nutritional value of quinoa, I will definitely use it as an alternative to rice every other time.

I have tried a number of varieties of quinoa on the market and find the Betterbody organic quinoa to be one of the tastiest available. It's easy to use, with basic instructions right on the package. It is recommended that you measure out and rinse the product thoroughly before cooking. I've been using various brands of quinoa in place of rice as a side dish for two years. It is one of the most protein-rich foods in my diet. A healthy alternative to rice or pasta, quinoa is gluten free and has almost twice as much fiber as most other grains. It contains iron which helps keep red blood cells healthy; lysine, which is essential for tissue growth and repair; is rich in magnesium; Riboflavin and manganese, which is an antioxidant. All of these nutrients are essential to good health. Quinoa is a superfood, and I honestly feel better since I made it a staple of my diet. I use a number of different recipes to keep it interesting, both in cold salads and hot side dishes with dinner. One of my favorite recipes includes mixing cubed cucumbers, rice vinegar, chopped kale and grapeseed oil into the quinoa. I'm a fan of the product and happily recommend Betterbody brand to everyone I know!

I am reviewing Betterbody Foods Organic Quinoa, 24 oz. I received this product free to try, in exchange for my opinion of the product. \r\nI selected this product because it is certified (NSF) gluten-free (a must for my daughter), as well as organic. We are also trying to eat healthier. The label does indicate they are made in a facility that makes products containing coconut, but for my family, this is not an issue since we use coconut oil in many dishes. This is also the first time I have ever tried baobab. I like that it naturally is a source of protein and fiber. \r\nServing size is 1/4 cup and adds 160 calories. \r\nI tried a tiny amount of the product straight, and it had a no discernable flavor. They are very small seeds, and had a very slight crunch to them when eaten 'raw'. There was no 'after' taste. My daughter used it in a quinoa chili taco type dish, and it was delicious. There are a mutiple amount of dishes online to use it in, including homemade granola bars, etc. I do like this product, and see myself buying it in the future. With a person in the household that cannot eat gluten, this product adds another food to her 'can eat' list. I will be buying it in the future.

Betterbody Foods Organic Quinoa sounds...
Reviewed on www.walmart.com·Wanzy
Betterbody Foods Organic Quinoa sounds and looks like a product worth trying for healthy food choices. I really wanted to try this particular one because I have only ever eaten the white quinoa as the red and black costs more. I felt this would be a good way to sample the red and black without committing to a whole bag of something I may not like.\r\n\r\nI decided to cook it the way I cook the white quinoa. I cook some onions in oil in a small pot then rinse the quinoa and add it to the onions once their translucent. I stir everything around for a couple minutes to get them a little toasted then I just add the specified amount of water. I let it sit off heat for 10 mins after it's done then fluff with a fork. Quinoa pretty much cooks the same as rice and is almost just as lightly flavored so it goes well with anything you put it with. I look at it as a rice replacement and great for those struggling with diabetes.\r\n\r\nMy first tasting was with green beans and chicken. I loved the look of the quinoa as well as the great texture. It had a slightly stronger nutty taste than the white quinoa, which I loved, but it also had a little bit of a bitter bite to it on the back of the palate after you swallow. I have a serious problem with aftertaste and that was the only problem I had with this product. It's not bad enough to make me stop eating it, I just had to add some salt and pepper to it to kill the aftertaste. That was really the only reason why I gave it 4 stars as it's my own personal taste issue. It's definitely worth a try and 24 oz is a good size that will last for several meals.

Nice Nutty Flavor
Reviewed on www.walmart.com·CaseyMom
This tri-color quinoa is not only pretty to look at, but it's very tasty for a seed closely related to beetroot, amaranth or spinach. I like the soft mouthfeel of this hearty seed. Because quinoa has a good amount of protein per serving (6g) and fiber (3), I feel full for a long time after the meal. \r\n\r\nCooking this is pretty much like cooking rice. One cup of quinoa to two cups of water, bring to a boil, cover the pot, then lower the temperature and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Can't get much simpler than that!\r\n\r\nThe instructions do say to rinse the quinoa before cooking, but I like the texture when I don't rinse. l didn't notice any bitter taste, but it's a personal preference. I've read that letting it sprout will increase the nutritional value, but I haven't tried that yet.\r\n\r\nQuinoa is one of those 'good for you' foods because it has several health benefits. I won't list them all here, but if you do a search for quinoa health benefits, you'll find lots of great information.

This is a review for organic quinoa.\r\nThis quinoa is tri-color, which when prepared is more attractive to the eye and is for my taste better.\r\nIf you are looking for quinoa, I recommend that you look for one that is organic, which means without antibiotics, and other elements that are harmful to your health.\r\nThis quinoa is not pre-washed, so it is best to wash it before use, you can use a colander, and wash it with water until the water is clean, thus avoiding the bitter taste.\r\nThe cooking time is very fast and needs to be moist, because after removing it from the fire it continues to hydrate and grow, maybe you need several practices until you decide how you like it most.\r\nThe quinoa is very versatile, it can be eaten hot or cold, there are many recipes, but once you know how to prepare it, many ideas will come to add it to your meals and make them more nutritious.\r\nI highly recommend this quinoa.

This was something new for me, I researched that Quinoa is a good source of protein, fiber, iron, copper, thiamin and vitamin B6. I made a quinoa cake because I had a desire for something different and sweet. \r\nHere's the recipe, if interested:\r\n\r\nhttp://makingthymeforhealth.com/best-ever-chocolate-quinoa-cake-gluten-free/\r\n\r\nI didn't have enough chocolate to make it taste as I'd wished, But chocolate syrup, with ice cream on top will make up for that. I used Peanut butter and PB fit peanut butter powder for frosting. I didn't use the frosting recipe they gave (along with the cake recipe). However, it was a nice change. There are also various recipes for Quinoa like shrimps, salads etc. It doesn't have much of a taste so it can blend into almost any recipe (which is good for those who wish to have a natural source of vitamins in their diet). Hope this review helped. Happy, Healthy Eating!

I had to first find how to cook it, very easy to make, only takes 10-20 minutes and it's done!\r\n\r\nIn the container it looked like birdseed to me so I was a bit skeptical at first, however after it is cooked it blossoms and all of a sudden you have triple the amount you put in the pan. It is like a hot cereal or can be added to oatmeal, etc. I served it by itself with olive oil, Parmesan cheese, etc. You can put whatever you like to flavor it, it's pretty flexible! It is also very nutritious!\r\n\r\nI thought it was delicious!

When I first requested to review this, I had heard of quinoa but really didn't know too much about it. Or how to pronounce it. As best I know, it's keen-wah, is a flowering plant grown for its edible seeds. It is not a grass so it's not quite the same as a cereal. It is fairly easy to prepare, 1 cup quinoa and 2 cups water. Make sure to rinse the quinoa very well, then combine the two in a saucepan, bring to a boil and then cover and simmer 20 minutes or so, till the water is absorbed. \r\nAlone, quinoa is very bland akin to brown rice. One thing I learned by comparing the two is that quinoa does have a higher fiber and protein count than brown rice. But again, is bland alone. I added some seasoned salt which improved the flavor as does cheese. I think the next time I make it will definitely be as part of a casserole or other dish that calls for quinoa. There are plenty to choose from online, whether they be casseroles or a nice cool salad. I am a fan of rice and I'll substitute this in those recipes as well. All in all, it's easy to prepare, gluten free and would be easy to fit in to many recipes. I would recommend this.

I have never had Quinoa and decided to try it. WOW, love the nutty taste and this will be on my grocery list from now on. I did read up on how to cook it on YouTube. So the first time I cooked it, I did rinse it. The 2nd time I cooked it, I did not rinse it. And to my palate there is no difference. Some say that if if is not rinsed you get a bitter taste. I did not run into that problem with this Quinoa. It is definitely more filling than rice and I cook it the same way I cook my rice. Give it a try, you might just like it like I did.
