This is easily the most ideal option for virtual reality that is quick and easy to use. There are two types of VR. The heavy-duty gaming VR that requires a serious computer, sensors, set up, etc., and then there's the more casual and portable VR. This is the casual VR, but don't let that fool you, it is still a completely incredible and fun experience! If you are a hardcore gamer, you will probably gravitate toward systems like the Rift, Vive, or Playstation VR, but otherwise Oculus Go has everything you need. I have played with VR headsets for a couple of years, starting with a cheap, generic headset for android, then moving to the 2nd generation Gear VR, and then the Oculus Go. I have found myself using the Go daily for two reasons- ease of use, and as technology has advanced, virtual social integration has added a new world of possibility to casual VR. The Oculus Go and Gear VR both run what is basically the same platform/interface/store. In fact, the apps I purchased on my Gear VR transfered to my Go. The big difference is that you don't have to install your phone into the headset which alleviates a hassle as all the hassles that come with multi-purposing your phone. Originally, I couldn't see myself justifying buying a Go when I already had the Gear VR, but now I would recommend that purchase to anyone. It doesn't seem like a big deal to slap your phone into a headset and start it up, but in reality, that extra little bit of hassle stops you from playing with it as much, and receiving calls and notifications constantly while in VR is frustrating. The Go is just so much easier to use, and well designed. Comfortable, even with glasses on, solid built in stereo speakers, and the remote control tracking is much better than what I experienced with the Gear VR. I bring my Go to work with me and people are AMAZED when they try it out. It surprises me how many people haven't experienced VR yet, but I think the Go is the type of product that will shift that. At $200 ($250 for the 64 gb version) it is absolutely worth the money. The thing that is really about to change things is the social integration. We are now at the point where with the Go and an app like Altspace VR, you can actually explore different environments and meet people from around the world. (People are represented by customizable avatars). You can speak with them, play games with them, host events and throw parties, watch movies, attend concerts, film festivals, everything. It's totally incredible, and adds so much more value to the VR experience beyond playing games (although those are fun too!) Last thing to mention- I purchased the 64 gb version for $250 instead of the 32. In terms of storage, I have nearly 60 apps/games downloaded to it plus two full length 3-D movies and I still have 27.5 gb of space left! I like having all of that space, but really, if you can only afford $200 for the 32gb, you will be just fine. This is a great time to jump into VR, and the Go is a great product to do it with.
