The newest Mac operating system, OS 10.15, is not compatible with older versions of Office. So I decided to update to a newer version. But Microsoft, along with Adobe & others, has decided to make Office a "subscription" based product. That means you have to pay a monthly rental to use it. I object to that approach. This version of Office is standalone - one-time purchase. I was skeptical that it would really work, but it seems to work fine. The instructions say to uninstall previous versions of office, but I didn't want to do that in case this version did not work. So I left office 2011 & 2016 in place. 2011 is really obsolescent & doesn't work anymore. 2016 still seems to work. Wonderful to have a a real Microsoft office and not the naf 365 rubbish that has to be renewed every year Been using office since Office 97. Some of the bells and whistles are good some are not but thats life ! Recent loss of internet (4 weeks well done open reach) and power for 4 days shows how important it is to have software that you can still use without the internet. Being an old fart I do not use cloud data stores either so i was un affected by the recent system outages that we experienced. Although some of the Office apps are available free, you'll need this if you use the 'full fat' version of Office. Of course this package comes on DVD. Be sure to delete any existing copies of Office before installing the new set up. Microsoft have an app to do this but it doesn't always work. I used the free version of iOBit 14 and then the Microsoft app to remove a previous installation of Office Professional Plus. Professional Plus should in theory be transferable after 90 days: that hasn't happened for me on other installations.Although some of the Office apps are available free, you'll need this if you use the 'full fat' version of Office. For some reason software did not ask for the activation key although it was working. I'd already got MS 365 but I wanted to use Office Outlook Professional. So I ended up taking 365 out (I use it on four other pcs so no big deal) and starting again but with wifi off. This time it worked apart from wanting to include MS Mail in, which normally only receives rubbish mail but got that out of sight. It's Office. You know what you're getting. The benefit of this is it's not a subscription. You get Office on one computer for it's life. That's all. It does annoy me that you're required to register the key with a Microsoft account to redeem it, but oh well. One thing to note, if you don't need Microsoft Outlook, get the cheaper Home and Student version. It has Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, but not Outlook. Outlook is the only thing this adds over that and this is $100 more expensive. So, you better make sure you really want outlook.

We bought the Microsoft Office Home & Business 2019 for the new laptop that we bought ourselves for Christmas. We had always used Office on our previous laptop, although it was a much older version. We love this new version too, although it's just a little bit different and takes just a little bit getting used to. Other than that it's terrific as you would expect if you've ever used any of the Office products. We chose this one because we didn't want to pay a yearly fee for the Office 360 products and had no reason to do so since this was just for our own use.

Although I have previous version Office 2010 which had always perform well, I needed to upgrade to newer version Office 2021. Great product. Worked a treat. Just wish the instructions were a little clearer on what to uninstall before installing this product. You can't install over another office program. Step by step instructions and when to insert the USB would help

Moving on from Office 2011 was a real pleasure. My new MacOs was not letting all the editing within Word that I was used to, and other apps were the same. In both business and personal applications, this has been my goto software for a good part of my life. Products are easy to use and also work with each other as needed. By that I mean I can create something in Excel and then copy/paste to a Word document or mail it via Outlook. Combinations are basically endless. It is well supported software and help is just a fingertip away. Even though this is a new version, I have used MS Office products for 30 plus years.

So, I know there is Office 360, but I always go for this paid version. I just don't need to pay monthly fees just to enjoy some minor changes to the software. For what I have seen, most common users of this software version like me, can do perfectly fine with the 2019 version instead of the 360 alternative. By the way, I use a lot Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and they all have what the basic and common user will ever need.

I always get A Microsoft office product every time I buy a new computer. I like using outlook to organize my mail and like how you can store other word and excel files inside your message along with pdf files. I enjoy using Microsoft Word and Excel. I also find One Note to be a very useful program. I have not used Power Point myself but know people at work that have and it too is a great presentation program.

Super piece of software. Operates beautifully. I experienced a few hiccups whilst loading it but got there in the end. Works nicely with all my older Word and Excel 2016 files. Well recommend. Microsoft builds good products and there is really only two that stands out (most). Windows OS and Office and they work well together. It was very easy to install and hooks right to your MS Account. For home use I recommend Office Home and Business, unless your need a Publisher or Database program, which are the things missing from this office choice.

Outlook is terrible cant get emails to work properly and Microsoft cant either

I've used Office for more than 20 years through all its updates. I've only bought this because I'm having problems with my existing copy and can't find my original CD. I'm quite happy with this version.\nIts only easy to use if you have had previous training on Microsoft Office or earlier versions.
