After struggling with a Keurig for the past two years we we ordered a Hamilton Beach coffee pot with an extra Cup maker. There are many things that we have missed out on until this pot came along\n\nFirst of all, this pot serves hot coffee. 165 to 175°. That’s how we like our coffee made. We like regular coffee but there’s an option to also make bold coffee with this pot.\n\nSecondly, the pot slips in and out of the filling station without issue. The other pot we had was always a difficult fit.\n\nThe filling tank for water is easily accessed with a see through lens for measuring.\n\nInserting the coffee filter is a breeze. Removing the filter basket is very easy for cleaning purposes.\n\nThe clock is multi system and has an automatic setting for early setup. \n\nThe Hamilton Beach system is far superior and less costly and complex than our old pot. It was a good decision to upgrade.

The full pot side is a great coffee maker. The meter on the water reservoir perfectly matches the lines on the carafe. It's easy to fill and pour without making a mess. It uses 8-12 cup sized paper filters, which we prefer over the metal mesh filters. It's programmable but we never bother. \n\nThe single serve side is not bad either. It doesn't make a cup as fast as keurig or some of the other single serve brewers, but the coffee it makes is good. We like the flexibility to use any ground coffee and not just what we find in kcups. It, too, is easy to fill without making a mess. It is also programmable. \n\nWhy we bought it and probably our favorite feature is that it saves so much counter space being one machine that does both sizes. We use the full pot every weekend, the single every weekday, and were constantly struggling to find room for both or swap them out.

This coffee pot is amazing! BUT, it does come with a few design flaws (strictly my opinion - we can still have those, right?)... I love the option of a full pot or just a cup, without having to buy those pre packaged pod things, those are expensive! My only complaint is the display... I'm pretty sure the individual at Hamilton Beach Beach that designed the display has never been in a dark house... ever! This thing is SOOO bright! OMG! You almost need a welding hood to approach it first thing in the morning! I mean, it's versatility is amazing but you might want to get a pair of sunglasses to get that first cup of coffee in the morning. I've even taken a piece of tape and a Sharpie to the light for the preset... still bright! I cover the display with a sticky note, still bright! Please know that this coffee pot is awesome BUT it's not for the nocturnal at heart.

I've owned this coffeemaker for a couple months now, and overall I'm happy with how the machine brews. The only slight issue is the single-cup brewing, which leaves a little coffee residue at the bottom of your cup. Even when I do a larger grind, some of that coffee dust gets through the included mesh filter. Mini paper coffee filters would probably solve this issue, but I haven't found ones that fit.\n\nOne great feature is the auto shutoff, which kicks in at after 2 hours. I thought every decent 12-cup coffeemaker had an auto shutoff (I'm looking at you, Mr. Coffee), but I guess you have to pay extra for that now.\n\nSo, overall, if the single-cup feature isn't important to you, I'd find a cheaper drip coffeemaker (with the auto shutoff). But if you occasionally like to have just one mug of coffee, this is a good option. Just resist drinking that last sip.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to try the Hamilton Beach 2-Way Programmable Coffee Maker. After using it for several weeks I was less than excited. This 2-Way Coffee Maker is for those that like to use ground coffee and preferably in the large carafe with time to spare. \n\nIt's great if you are more environmentally friendly and don't have the desire to use certain plastic pods because this machine doesn't support those. It does has the ability to brew a single cup or a travel mug of coffee with a reusable ground coffee basket. There are pods specifically for this machine but the holder isn't included. It shows it in the directions but not with the item nor pictured on the box. There isn't one large reservoir for the whole machine so you have to fill the mug side separately which can be a hassle. It is allowed to be preprogramed but the drip takes minutes longer than desired. Also when it does stop, it keeps dripping. The drip tray is in 2 pieces and the coffee splatters when hitting the metal plate that is more for looks than function. It does have an automatic shut off which is a plus but the slow stream for a single cup isn't for those rushing out the door! \n\nThe carafe side works as it should. Has a large basket for multiple cups of ground coffee. It's great for a Sunday brunch or a day at the office. Coffee does stay on for 2 hours to stay warm and then shuts off. The switch from single serve to carafe is easy to use and simply labeled. There is a pause and off function for this machine but I found that it didn't pause right away. It's programmable as well but make sure you hold down the button until the green light to the right is lit, otherwise your machine isn't programmed to your set time correctly. \n\nOther observations I made:\n\n-The cord stuff storage is not reasonable. The cord doesn't retract and it's so stiff to be spending time shoving it into the little hole. \n\n-The plastic overall is sturdy with the lids to the water resevoirs being a litttle thinner and more light weight. I don't mind it and makes it easier for those that may have dexterity issues. \n\n-There is a brew option of 'Bold' so that's a nice feature but there isn't an ounces option. That can be frustrating because you could fill your single use resevoir with so many ounces and there is no indicator of what's been brewed.\n\nOverall, yes it can make coffee but has extra steps or lack of steps to fill it's full potential.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the 2 way coffee maker, I like the choice you have to make hot, or ice coffee. Hot comes out pipping hot, it does a few minutes for it to start coming out. The taste is good I used 1 scope and it was plenty strong enough for me. It was easy to use, it has a programable feature so I came have it ready in morning when I awake. The cord could be a little bit longer. You will need paper filters if you plan on making a pot of coffee, instead of single cup. Again nice for the choice. Making ice coffee was a no brainer, put in coffee, water add ice to your glass and press start, that easy. It has a little bigger foot print for counter space, but you get 2 choices in one unit. Easy to clean filter basket. Overall a positive experience on using this machine.

I LOVE this coffee pot! It makes a pot or single serve.\nIt stays warm for four hours! Yahoo! \nIt is easy to pour the water into the two different places (one for the pot one for the single serve).\nIt's fast and makes tasty coffee. I like that it comes with built in filters for both the pot and single serve. I recommend adding a paper filter if you don't want to clean out the filter, but you can make it without it.\nI love that the single serve side does NOT use k cups. I prefer my own coffee, not what is sold in the k cups. So if k cups are important to you, this is not the coffee pot for you.\nI also like that there are not any holes at the top where the water goes in. If you live in FLorida like I do, you don't want creepy things crawling in you coffee pot (main reason I hated my old coffee pot)\nI highly recommend this.

This has some great attributes, and a few I dislike but can be remedied. Good coffee, easy to switch between single cup and the pot brew. Timer and settings are easy to do. The negative is the craft will cook the coffee after 10 min. I cut a silicone mat to a round shape to put under the crafe. The water reservoir for single cup is too small, so dont pour water from your mug or you'll flood everything. Instead use a small skinny rice maker water cup to pour water in. The main water reservoir is normal and easy to use. I forgot to mention I like that the single cup has a wire basket for the grounds. No clogged needles to deal with, but the bold brew on the single cup vs the regular brew mode takes forever to get a finished cup. Plan ahead and set the timer.

I ♡ the pretty blue digital lights that show the time anx whether it's on. 2 hr auto shut off on the main 12 cup coffee, the single side is nice when u just want a cup and u just use regular coffee i think its cheaper than using pods. we had a black one before that is 12 cup coffee on 1 side and the other was single to use with pods.. After over 2 yrs the main coffee heating element went out but the pod side still works because it doesnt stay on. When the single sude is done it shuts off... I bought this one because the orice for 12 cup coffeemaker/ single pod combo was around $120!!! This one we just got was around $50 some. Its White with blue digital lights.. and the stainless steel makes it look so nice, and i L♡VE it!!!

Great coffee maker, well priced. The single serve option works great. I think I enjoy it more than the K cup machine. It will make any size cup of coffee and all you need is a couple of teaspoons of ground coffee and a mug. of water. I also found a disposable paper filter to use with the single serve accessory, making it easy to clean and reload. I also have used the decanter side and it works great, making 12 cups of coffee in just a few minutes. One thing I wish it would have is a selector switch for the heating element heating level such as a low, medium and high so that it doesn't cook the coffee in the decanter during the two hours it stays on. But can't have everything, overall its a nice machine for the money.

I am replacing my older version of this coffee maker that I have had for at least 12 years. While it still worked, it wasn't tasting the best so I decided to replace it. I went with the same exact coffee maker because I loved that it didnt use KCup style baskets in the mug side so I can customize how much grounds I use. I also found this style basket easier to clean. I also really liked that it doesnt have a reservoir and you just put in the amount of water you need each time. This takes the guess work out of what size mug you have and also keeps the water from going stale sitting in the reservoir. This is a great machine that I hope will last me another long time.

PROS: Makes coffee hotter than my last several coffee makers. A 2-mug (4-cup) pot is properly brewed using the "bold" feature. The single-cup feature makes better than any of the KCup machines I've experienced. CONS: The carafe cannot be completely emptied into a cup because of scalding steam, something to do with the lid design. Large footprint. If you typically fill a coffeemaker using the carafe (I do not), you would not be able to do so if the unit is under an upper cabinet. COMMENTS: I had to run a LOT of single-cup cycles before the "new plastic" taste finally went away. The unit has no alarm to sound when brewing is complete or when it turns itself off.

I like being able to make just one cup of coffee and not having to use a pod. Love that this is a smaller size but works as well as a larger coffee maker. Knowing that the coffee will stay on for 4 hours is a plus since my spouse gets up a couple hours before I do. I like that on the one cup side you have an insert that you can put your cup up closer for brewing. I have used this coffee maker several times and cannot find anything that I am unhappy about. Kudos to Hamilton Beach!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coffee machine works double duty. Sometimes I want to have a whole pot of coffee, which my pod machine can not do. That's why I chose this machine. It has the ability to do pods(with the included holder, so you don't have to actually buy the pods). It also has a large water compartment for a full pot of coffee. I love that each has its own water reserve. **note** how ever much water you put in the pod side, is the amount of coffee it makes. Also, One thing I don't like, it takes an extra minute to have a cup of coffee made on the pod side, than with my pod coffee machine.

My husband likes his coffee and drinks it throughout the day. For Christmas my son gave us a dual function Keurig coffee maker. An expensive one that you would assume would work well. We had problems within the first two weeks of use. Would only brew a couple cups then quit. He called the manufacturer and a second machine was sent which did the exact same thing. My husband tried for weeks to clean both machines. Ot would work for a short time then quit. We had had our Hamilton forever before it quit on us. So for Father's Day he received a new Hamilton which cost a third of the Keurig. Works like a charm. Would recommend them to anyone.

we have been using a Keurig with the carafe and the single serve, for roughly 8 years. we went through three, the first one was the best second one and the last one didn't even make it a year. I have no idea why it took us so long to get this one, it was a great price, the looks of it is very fancy, two separate water compartments, there is a switch so that you can choose which one you would like, it pours out nicely without making a mess, we love the timer part, we enjoy it, it has all sorts of features the Keurig does not.. I will be recommending this product to anybody who is interested in a good coffee pot.

We replaced our old Hamilton Beach Flex Brew with this one. The flex brew was annoying, you HAD to clean it every 30 days or it wouldn't work, if you forget and hit brew or worse you had it set to go off on a timer it wouldn't make your coffee until you cleaned it. \nI love this coffee maker. It's easy to use. Easy to set up. If you forget to clean it, it will still run. The single serve part took a bit of getting used to since you use coffee grounds instead of pods but it's actually cheaper. You can make iced coffee as well. Love this maker!!

Love everything about it! It looks so pretty too , but functional for exactly what we need. I don’t drink much coffee so making a full pot for me is a waste, being able to have a single cup with whatever coffee I want and not having to use k-cups, on top of being able to make a full pot when needed (normally in the morning when my husband is going to work or when we have people over) and having it all in one saving space on the container and not having two anymore. I was looking for a good dual large pot and single cup coffee appliance, but didn't want to spend a crazy amount of money on one. I have been very pleased with this appliance so far and am glad I didn't waste my money on something more expensive. I love the fact that if you want just one cup of coffee you have that option. I also like that it doesn't use k-cups amd you use regular grounds in it, because you can choose how strong you want it and can use more types of coffees that aren't available in k-cup form!

I feel that it is easy to use, versatile and helps lower ones microplastics ingestion. You also have the ability to make that very strong %26 bold coffee we all need at times. It looks fine to me, but if you are trying to impress someone with your coffee maker, this probably isn't the right choice for you. \n\nThe only compliant that I have is that it is not as fast as a Bunn coffee maker. \n\nTo me based on the price, versatility, and general appearance - it was the right price point for me.

I’m very happy with this Hamilton Beach 2-Way Programmable Coffee Maker. It’s perfect because you can brew a single cup for busy mornings or make a full pot when family or guests are over. The flexibility is one of the best features. The coffee comes out hot and tastes great. I also love that it uses ground coffee instead of pods, which saves money and creates less waste. Overall a good coffee maker and a fair price point for what it is, but I have issues with my carafe.. it leaks from the rim when we pour our coffee. It leaks A LOT when the carafe is still hot but turns into a small drip once it's cooled off, you also have to press the button for the programmed time after every batch off coffee. So if you don't remember to press the button your coffee won't start at the time you picked, other than my issues with my carafe it'd be worth purchasing.

I don't know what to compare it to as it's my first coffee machine.\nIt's programmable, so I don't have to wake up to make my boyfriend fresh coffee in the morning. It's easy to use and it makes 12 cups of coffee, I haven't gotten any bad things to say about it. Kinda bulky but hey it's the single serve and the 12 cup so it makes sense. My dad likes his coffee scorching hot. I'm not sure if this would be hot enough for him but it steam does exit the cup I poured into. If that helps.

This will be the third coffee maker like this I have purchased over the years. I like the fact that I can make a big pot of coffee but if I want maybe a cup of green tea I can make it using the one cup side, or hot chocolate for these KS winters. One cup of the tea or hot chocolate is just the right amount for me. But I do program the regular coffee pot for every morning, as I do drink a lot of coffee during the day so the larger pot is so much better.

I've had this coffee maker for about 2 weeks now and so far, I'm very pleased! it makes great tasting, hot coffee! My husband and I mostly use the single serve side because we usually want coffee during different times throughout the day. I love that we can adjust the level to fit the size of your coffee cup, so there's no splashing when the coffee is brewing. It doesn't use pods, just coffee grounds so that's a win win! I definitely recommend this coffee maker!

I'm not a coffee drinker but I like hot tea throughout the morning. I set it to "Bold" and I can make a 10 cup pot with only a couple tea bags! I put the bags directly into the pot and turn it on. I leave the bags in the pot throughout the morning. Much easier... and MUCH HOTTER than the Keurig ever produced. I've made single cups of coffee for friends and they say the taste is good. I'm VERY happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!
