I'm about 30 hours in and have been enjoying the game. If your familiar with previous Dragon Age titles, this one feels like a successor to Dragon Age 2. More linear than Origins and Inquisition, the game is broken into multiple large open levels that foster exploration. Overall, if you enjoyed the other games I'd say theres a good chance you'll enjoy this as long as you don't go in expecting it to be likes Origins and Inquisition.

Excellent game. Beautiful graphics The characters are interesting, the world looks great. Combat is on par with God of War or the more recent DMC games. The writing is a little weak but exploration and quests are a joy to play. This is my GOTY and its not even close. Ignore the haters. This game rules.

I have always been a huge dragon age fan and was worried the long long wait for this game wasnt going to be worth it. I was wrong. It was worth it. I am loving it so far. I have played about 40 hours so far and haven't met all the companions yet. The first few have great personalities and I'm excited to continue the game and meet the others.\n\nCombat is a little repetitive, especially if you like playing on harder difficulties. I noticed my hands hurt and cramp up very often after battles. I don't have this problem in any other style of game aside from pvp fighting games. I want to remove a star just for combat but the story makes up for that as of now.

The combat is enjoyable, and the visuals are nice. Story is weak compared to other entries into the series and characters are less interesting. Worth playing as a fan of the series but not a good entry point if you haven't at least played Inquisition

It is surprisingly fun to play. While not as good as the original Dragon Age games, it is a positive step forward for Bioware. My only gripe is campy dialogue at times. Gameplay is fluent and the character models are great.

The game itself looked okay on first inspection. There is a small bit of the plastic chipped from the seel to open the case. Other than that, the discs are nice and clean like they're brand new.

DA Veilguard is an okay game. This game has its hit and misses moments, and the writing can feel like the 1st draft was used. it's a good game to sit back and turn your brain off as you play.

Now Dragon Age has become a relationship builder with weathered RPG concepts. The story is great, but that is irrelevant if you can't withstand the cringe to make it through the game.

Coming from a loyal fan since Day 1 of DA: Origins. Beautiful game. My favourite of the franchise. I appreciate how each Dragon Age has its own feel to it. The Veilguard channels Origins foundational essence as a true action adventure RPG. The tone for each Dragon Age is also different, I believe if you go in with a clear mind and no bias, you too, will see the beauty that this game has to offer. The items themselves are excellent!

The game is fantastic! The combat is fun and keeps me interested even in a second playthrough, which I haven't had in a Dragon Age game yet. The story was pretty good, though I definitely think it could have used a little bit more time in the oven.\n\nI'm not sure if the extra cost of the deluxe edition was worth it. I would probably recommend just getting the base game.

This game is jarring because it's so unrecognizable from the Dragon Age franchise as a whole. If it weren't for the returning of Varric and Harding it would be hard to look at these awfully rendered soulless Pixar uncanny valley drool passing themself off as art. While the writing being woke and absent minded was drilled into peoples heads to death I don't need to reinforce that here instead I'll state what most people feel when they are half way through this game. Is it over yet? After 30 hours of this game I just want it to be over. The side quest are dull and uninspired, the characters are so childish that the main character literally talks to them like they're 12 to stop the "internal turmoil" that develops within the team. The best part of this game is the combat system because the skills are interesting and flushed out but all of that is undermined by the fact that nothing does more damage than when you do skill combos. So using different skills is made irrelevant because it doesn't make sense to use anything other than skills that trigger a combo effect. Making the tactical nature of the game obsolete. Enemies are also one note and after 20 hours you'll have seen every enemy in the game. The vast majority of which are just giant pinatas that you'll dance around until they finally fall over. But for 12$ you will get your monies worth and you'll definitely spend time playing this game. Sometimes you can derive joy from something even though it isn't good which is okay but it's one thing to not be good and it's another to be dull and uninspired. There's nothing even remotely memorable about this game other than I remember that I played it.

This is my first time playing a Dragon Age game, but I love it. I know it's getting a lot of crap, but the visuals and combat sell it for me. Story is okay, voice acting is generally good but sometimes meh, writing is decent but can be cringe at times…but I've still put probably 200 hours into this game. Try it for the combat, if nothing else!

Don't know what all the hate is about. This game is a ton of fun to play and looks gorgeous. Been playing since DA Origins and this one doesn't disappoint. My wife is playing it as well and it's her first Dragon Age and Bioware game and she absolutely loves it and wants to play all the others now as well. 10/10 would recommend.

This was the worst game I've ever played. I Platinumed the game, because i paid for it but if i could go back in time i wouldnt have ever bought it. The older games had a darker, and sinister at times, theme to it. It was a dark story and characters acted accordingly. The world felt unsafe and there was a anxiety to it, that even when the sun was shining a dark cloud persisted. This game feels like a cartoon. Everything feels safe, there doesnt feel like any imminent danger, and the world feels shallow. Every companion is boring and the voice acting feels like theyre talking to small children. Most of the dialogue is written in a way that a fourteen year old would find deep and profound. To continue with the infantilization this game does when you, or another companion, kills an enemy one member of the party will exclaim "good job!" or "nice one!" in the same manner you would congratulate a child for accomplishing a simple task. The combat is boring and tedious with spongy enemies. The story is boring, the majority of quests are boring and tedious with beaucoup backtracking. The character creator leaves a lot to be desired. The nudity in the game is non-existent. Even if you toggle it on, I never saw a single nude person. I saw a lot of reviews saying it was bad but i dismissed them as the "anti-woke grifter" community doing what they do best. Truth be told, the progressive themes of the game arent really a problem, but can come off as preachy and feel less like an organic part of the story or a character and more like a lecture. One of my least favorite things about the game is that they git rid of the Dragon Age Keep and practically did away with just about everything from the past games except Inquisition, but even Inquisition's inclusion is bare bones and shallow. During your character creator you can customize your inquisitor and their choices but almost none, if not none of the choices have any impact on the story which is a shame. From DA:O to Inquisition i had Loghain alive, basically trying to redeem himself. He survived inquisition, joined the wardens and in Veilguard he is nowhere to be found because the couldn't be bothered with continuity. Disgraceful. I cannot even recommend getting this game for free. I fully believe anyone who said this game was good got paid to do so. I do want to leave one positive comment: Visually I think the game looked pretty decent. Thats about it

First of all, please note that this is not a full review. I'm about 30 hrs. in and a lot of that time was spent exploring and doing side content instead of hard focusing on the main story. \nI feel that one of this game's biggest flaws is that it's a Dragon Age game (I'm a big and long time fan of the series). If it were a new IP from another developer, it'd be ok. The combat is fairly fun, the companions and story are just ‘ok' so far, I see potential for their stories to get more interesting, but time will tell. However, as a BioWare game, it leaves a lot to be desired in my personal opinion. A lot of story beats feel rushed and kinda choppy, or half hearted. And, maybe it's just me, but a lot of the dialogue really takes me out of the game. The conversations just feel way too modern day society. I know there was some modern terminology in the previous games, but nothing that took me out of it in the way Veilguard does. And from some of the spoilers l've seen I think it only gets worse. But, like I said, time will tell. I went into this game with low expectations, but it's still a little depressing playing it when compared to its predecessors, all very different games from one another, but all had great stories and interesting characters. On a positive note, I like that they brought back Varric's narrated art slides like in DAII. That's probably the most Dragon Age-feeling part of the game.\nThat's just my initial thoughts anyways. I can't say anything for certain until I finish the game. Sorry, for the long review, I hope it helps some.
