This grinder has not only met but exceeded my expectations!

For Kirkland dark roast, we found that a grind setting of 4 and a strength of 7 hits the perfect sweet spot. You'll definitely want to experiment a bit to find your own ideal flavor profile. Brand new out of the box, but will not work because thinks hopper is not locked. This appears to be a high quality coffee maker and great gift for my wife and our morning coffees. The box arrived in excellent condition, untampered with from the factory. Directions are clear, but there is an error message "Lock Bean Hopper". It appears to be locking properly. ive read the manual and tried unplugging the unit for a minute to reset it. Then I tried reseting by holding the Menu button for three seconds and then turning the Strength setting as recommended. This machine is the bomb! Everything about it makes brewing coffee wonderful and simple. I read one blog that mentioned the coffee bean hopper not feeding beans efficientl, that may be true if you do not keep the hopper full at all times. Not a problem for me! A great cup or pot of coffee every time.

I've been very happy with this coffee grinder. The charm of it lies in its simplicity. It's so easy to clean, it practically cleans itself! Well, not really, but it might as well. Every morning, it's a breeze to tidy up and get moving. I can't imagine my kitchen without it. A star buy indeed!

Absolutely love this machine! It replaced my Keurig 2.0. Very easy to use. Love the feature of single use versus a 12 cup pot. The stainless steel carafe keeps coffee steaming hot for at least two hours. Worth every penny.

Love this. Coffee comes out perfect and you can set grind mode, how strong you want it and how hot you want it. Once you set it up you just press a button and it grids the way you want it and makes it.

Love the idea that I can program it to grind fresh beans in the morning. But it clogs up frequently. So stopped grinding and just use coffee grounds. The next issue is the carafe, I have to practically hold it upside down to pour a cup and regardless however what I pour, it drips down the side. Naturally there\u2019s no replacement for the carafe. So I\u2019m left with a very expensive coffee maker that doesn\u2019t grind but does drip. However not in the way I\u2019d like.

You can choose grind, strength and have the option of a carafe or individual cups with varying amounts for each. The hopper holds enough coffee for several single cup grinds. It also will brew a full pot and it stays hot for hours in the thermal pot that’s included. Highly recommend this maker. One negative I found: it comes with a gold filter basket for the grounds so you won’t need a paper filter. I found that when I used the filter the coffee had a distinct taste of medal and was very off putting, I now use just a paper filter and the coffee comes out tasting much better. For the money I would have expected a better design. It’s nice to look at but has some shortcomings. The craft is difficult to clean. Unless you have hands the size of a 7 year old you’re gonna need a bottle brush or equivalent. The flip side is that it does keep the coffee hot for an extended period of time. Cleaning after every pot is a huge pain. It has way too many parts and things that need washing (see pic). The taste of the coffee required experimentation with grind setting and strength but it only took a few tries to dial it in. Overall impression is just average. A bit too complicated and too many parts to clean is my biggest complaint.

A year ago my wife bought this machine for me as a birthday present. Overall it's been good, but there are some issues. For example, always use the carafe. If you use a cup, the machine will occasionally decide to miss the cup and spray coffee everywhere else. You'll come downstairs after the timer went off to find your cup empty, and the counter and floor soaked in coffee. You also cannot tell it how much coffee you want. You need to measure out the amount of water each time, and pour it into the back. It does keep the water fresh, and it's not a big deal, but it would be nice to be able to fill the dispenser to the top and just choose the size cup I want to fill. You will also end up "losing water" once it makes it to the cup. The machine stops dispensing coffee before the water has fully filtered out if you're using the cup, so you need to reach up and press the dispenser yourself to get the last 1/5th or so. As far as I can tell, I cannot remove the water container to clean. There are pro's as well. There are plenty of options to brew your coffee how you'd like. I have not tried out the custom option yet, but the other options work great for different types of guests. I prefer it strong, and that option delivers. There is no heating pad for the carafe, but it doesn't need it. I've had the carafe keep coffee hot for hours, much longer than I expected. Very helpful when you have guests over or need an extra cup of coffee in the morning - no need to microwave it. The bloom time feature is great as well and I feel it adds to the flavor of my coffee. Overall, for the price and my needs, I am not thrilled with this product. I do not feel that the "single cup" features were will thought out, and it seems like they were shoehorned into the product to entice people like me, who mainly drink only a cup or two a day and wanted the flexibility of both a single cup or a carafe when needed.

I've gone through about 4 different highly rated coffee makers and I've settled on the Breville. It is the smartest of them all. The construction is sturdy and the parts slide in and out easily. Cleanup is also quite easy. The only flaw is that the shower head is small and has fewer holes as compared to the other machines that I tried. Still, all the other features of this one kind make up for that. This is easily fixable by Breville as the shower head is removable and all Breville has to do is add more holes on the perimeter of the shower head. So why is this important you may ask. Well, I'm glad you did. What I'm noticing is that because the water stream is concentrated towards the center of the coffee grounds, those on the perimeter don't get properly soaked. So please Breville, take this into consideration and offer a shower head with more holes that will better soak the coffee grounds. I'll be the first one in like to purchase it!

This make the coffee amazingly! Love the idea, but I have coffee grounds all over when going to dump the grounds liner. It covers all over the inside and in the pot.

We had a Cuisinart Grind and Brew coffee maker for years. It made OK coffee but was a pain to work: the grinder, which you remove, clean and dry every time, would frequently get stuck and be impossible for my wife to remove, and inside there were often whole beans glued to the top of the grinder by the coffee powder created by the grinder blades.The carafe top would stick and some mornings I’d come down to counter and drawers soaked in coffee. The fine powder would accumulate in the rails of the basket holder until it was nearly frozen. I had to clean it periodically with a Water-pick. \nThe Breville, on the other hand, is much easier to clean, easier to operate, has two ways to control strength (from, to me, colored water to a nice rich cup of coffee) and is extraordinary versatile. It may not make espresso, but it sure satisfies every other coffee craving I have. \nI love it!

I wanted this to be the best coffee machine I ever had but man o man, where to begin. After the 1st few days of using it I was really frustrated and was going to send it back to best best. Coffee was more water than coffee. Didnt matter the grind or brew setting, we even changed the brand of beans. Nothing helped. A quick youtube search and I found out how to calibrate the weight of the coffee and that fixed it, but only kinda. to get this machine to work I've been using it with the hopper lid off and guiding the beans into the front of the grinder to make sure it always has beans in on top of the acculle blades. There is no way the make this happen without manually doing so. So you can not pre-set it at night and let it just work like other brewers. If you can stand there and make sure it is feeding beans into the shot then it does make a real great cup, but again its kind of a pain. The clean up after every cycle isn't that bad and I deal with pre-heating the craft, just letting my hottest water out of the tap run into the craft, while I clean out the last batch, BUT MAN O MAN NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Still thinking about taking it back or at least getting a cheap dripper as a backup when I don't have time. O, speaking of time it does cycle rather quickly. So that's a plus.
