Overall I love the Hydrojug, but I have some notable complaints:\n\n1. The design of the lid - it's leakproof, yes. But the design of getting the straw out to clean it leaves much to be desired. I found a Youtube video on how to do it, though honestly I hope I never have to as it doesn't look easy. \n ----- I will say, though, that Hydrojug is aware of customer complaints regarding this, so they've designed a new lid thats easier to disassemble and clean. Unfortunately, they only have it available for the 40 oz size, so any other sizes will have to suffer with the old style lid until the new lids are made for those. \n\n2. I hate the hard straw with it being so big. I know some people hate the feel of the silicone, but as someone with a small mouth and bad teeth who gets tooth pain if cold drinks directly touch my teeth in the front, it just doesn't work well for me.\n ----- I have the 20oz Hydrojug as well and though that one has a hard straw, the diameter of it is smaller so it's easier for me to drink out of that one. Maybe they could consider shrinking the size of the straw? \n\n3. The lid on this size is SO HARD to get centered. If you start where they recommended based on left-hand or right-hand holding, by the time you get 3/4 of the way into position, it gets so hard to turn. I'm not a weak person - I have pretty strong hands - but even I have a tough time getting it to turn the last 1/4 turn. And then if your hands slip, the rubber material of the lid starts shedding like an eraser does when you rub it. \n\n4. The rubber material of the lid stains easily. I was eating some pizza fries one night and went to take a drink. Apparently I had some lingering marinara sauce on my lips or hand or something, and when I went to take a drink some of it got on the lid. As a busy, tired mama I didn't notice it right away, so it sat on there for a while. When I went to wipe it off, the majority of it came off but a red stain was left behind (think about your plastic storage containers after having spaghetti in them). I scrubbed as much as i could and no matter how much I scrubbed it didn't come off. So I'm not thrilled about that. For me, it's marinara sauce - for some it would be lipstick or something like that. Either way, not impressed that it stains so easily. \n\nWould I buy it again? probably. I don't think any of these things would keep me from purchasing, especially for the price point and the fact that it's leakproof. It does make me happy to see that they recognize the lid is an issue and are willing to do something about it.
