5 stars to B&H, I'd give you 6 if that were possible, !I'd like to give the 2024 iMac 4.5 stars rather than 5 for a couple of reason s It's not optimized for older eyes, e.g., I can't get the dock images big enough to see them easily. I'm sure I'll get used to that as I learn to recognize the new icons. Another thing I don't like, and this is not iMac specific, is the utter lack of instructions on paper that come with it. Apple--forgo some of the exquisite package design and add a few pages of actual information in one of those cleverly designed boxes! I'm an artist (paper and dry media) and have zillions of photos, so design matters to me. I simply HATED what many adore, the abstract "iMac" screensaver/wallpaper that is preinstalled. My iMac is silver and that design was a purplish hue. Could not wait to replace it with my own photos, which I have. Now I love this new desktop but maybe not the keyboard (I'm used to the extended keyboard from a 2017 iMac). I may ditch this new one since the old one supposedly works also. \n\nI did the migration and worked out 5 or 6 kinks by myself using the internet (no phone calls or even chats for the set-up, including a new Office for Home, uninstalling the 2016 migrated version and setting up a new external drive for Time Machine backups). I am not a techie and I'm long in years, so this set of tasks took a while and patience. But it all worked!\n\nI cannot emphasize enough how helpful B&H staff were in helping me sort out what to buy. I also want to commend Claude AI's help in verifying my choices and looking closely at other paths.

The machine is gorgeous, display vivid, sound awesome, Magic Keyboard smooth, Magic Mouse very smooth but sometimes can’t “find” the pointer so I just shake it and pointer gets huge. I purchased this after not having the ability to put windows 11 (which had 10) on my “old” three year computer even though I had a tegabit of memory. I said enough to Bill Gates and researched this machine. Yes, there is a learning curve coming from a pc but I wrote down what commands to use and it is becoming a lot easier. I also watched a few videos to learn tips. The computer itself is sooo thin and light in case you need to move it at all on your desk. I did order the 10 core because it has 4 ports, fingerprint keyboard, and read that two fans are better to cool it. By the way did I mention there is not a sound coming from this machine and my pc fan ran all the time. Do I recommend this machine, indeed I do. It is pricier than a pc but I can see it is well worth it. And B&H had a great price and credit card offer. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.

I've only used the iMac (W4) for maybe a month but I can vouch for its speed. Digital photo processing apps (several with AI) that used to take 10-15 min. for each photo file on my 7-yr old iMac (intel) now take a few minutes. When I come back from a photo trip with literally a thousand or so keepers, I batch process them for noise. The old Mac let me walk away and do something else. I haven't had as much experience with the W4 iMac but now processing now takes me significantly less time. I often have a football game on the VHDTV and used to be able to keep up with game. Now, I have to be careful about look away while the W4 is churning but believe me I'm not complaining. I do get frustrated occasionally with the changes by Apple in the intervening years although I'm always using the current iOS. Sometimes the new and better ways of doing things seems a bit opaque. I'm sure it will get better when I use the W4 iMac more. The selection and purchase from B&H always has gone well and this was no exception.

I've been using Macintosh computers since 1986 and I've owned over a dozen different Macs over the years. Having said that, after spending over a week with this new iMac M4, I'm convinced that this might just be the best Mac I've ever owned. \n\nFrom the moment you take this iMac out of the box, you know you're in for a real treat. I've been shopping B&H for many years. Never had a disappointment. Plus it's the only place I know that offers discounts on apple products. And of course the apple products work out of the box. The only complaints I have are that apple has made product decisions in their, not the consumers interest. Apple pushes their products relentlessly and many of us, simply don't want these products (cloud, Apple Store, a..i., etc.). Apple no longer provides equipment (e.g. DVD/CD drives) and connections that millions of consumers still use and need. So, you are stuck buying an external drive and adapters in addition to the high cost of the apple computer. Apple uses this lack of features to promote their products and the cloud. Apple wants everybody using their cloud and of course this gives apple total access to your information. Apple wants captive consumers. This is wrong.

This 24” iMac is a great transitional option for now. I was in the middle of a big editing project when my 2016 iMac died and I need a replacement. I knew it was coming, we always do, but when it did the next generation wasn’t available for shipping yet. So now I’m back up and running and it’s fine for what I need to finish the project, meet my deadline and fit my budget. It’s still a little sluggish using Premiere Pro but I can get through the day without too much trouble. The screen is smaller than what I was use to and the keyboard is a little petite but it boots up fast and the Bluetooth mouse works fine. I had to get the USB converter to work with my audio interface and older drives but it’s not a problem. Overall I’m pretty satisfied with the new computer.

My computer was delivered quickly and in excellent shape. I took some time before I set up my new Mac because transferring has always been a frustration. I copied the instructions off the internet. wrote it all down and finally began the transfer, but got off the basic instruction. (start the new Mac first.) Lost in a maze of options set ups, I stopped. Turned everything off and started again. This time I followed the instructions and it was easy and even going the WI-Fi way, it was fast. Easy to adjust the size of letters, pointer, color, I'll be setting the operation of my new M4 Mac so it fits my style, a great feature of Macs. But the speed this thing runs is a joy. No more waiting for the spinning ball. This going to be fun!

I think it's amazing technology. I've already customized it with the new update Tahoe. It's very fun to use and since I do a lot of photography it's a lot of fun to edit with. I also think it's quite fast and reliable. I'm also going to start doing my school work on it. The color is nice, I got blue, it looks just like the pictures. I haven't had any problems although I thought there was supposed to be 4 charging ports there is just two but I only use one so no biggie and I also realize there is an occasional glitch in the mouse cursor but it could be just the mouse and not related with the computer. Everything match's the description, So far so good.

Was looking for a replacement for my 5 year old MacBook. It still runs like a beast, but I've been wanting to upgrade. Came into some money and decided to pull the trigger on the purchase of this iMac. It's everything I hoped it'd be and more. It was soooo much cheaper than everyone else on the price that I compared with. It looks absolutely incredible sitting on my desk. I highly recommend this computer. For both those tech junkies, and the ones that are new to the Apple Ecosystem, this thing has everything you need in an easy-to-use user interface. Absolutely raving. My only regret is that I didn't purchase it sooner!!

I am just getting acquainted with my new iMac, but so far I am impressed and very satisfied with it. The speed with which it downloaded the Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop programs was impressive, and basic functions were done with snappy responses. I thought I would really miss the 27” Retina display, of my previous iMac, but the 24” display is very nice, and I’m not really missing the loss of screen size. I purchased the M4-based iMac, with 32 GB RAM and 2 TB SSD, and hope it will give me the long period of faithful service that its predecessor provided.

I've been an Apple Fan for almost 30 years. Powerful and easy to use. This iMac is also great; however, I have a couple qualms. I'm coming from a very older machine: 2015 iMac 27 inch so this may not be everyone's experience. Minor issue is the loss of 3 inches is kind of sad and I prefer the look of the glass that that goes to the edge, so when it's off it just looks like a sleek black screen.\nMore importantly though, Apple erased most of my music and all of my iMovie projects. I updated this machine from a Time Machine backup and it seems that Apple doesn't want me having any other music that I didn't get through iTunes. I tried various fixes but it will not let me reach back into the Time Machine again. Not only that but you HAVE TO get an Apple Music subscription just to rate your songs! I refuse to get another subscription. I went ahead and bought another old iMac for cheap to use as my music player. :P

I love the M4 Apple processor with 10 cores 16 core neural , 24 gb ram great. I use it to process RAW photos mainly with Photo Lab 9 .The speed is incredible. I had a 2019 i5 iMac previously and it took at least eight minutes to process a photo or it would crash , now it finishes processing in eight seconds , it’s a beautiful thing . Startup is incredibly fast just a few seconds and starting up any app or program is just seconds. It is the BEST IMac to date ! What are you waiting for head to B & H Photo and pick one up today !

This is the 5th iMac I've owned since 2003. All have been reliable, easy to use desktops that have solved so many tasks for me. Apple has added the latest tech over the years, without too much increase in the actual sales price. Enjoying this latest SS design, and the display size/sharpness/colors, make it easy to interact with as my eyes age. I hope they continue to make desktops in the future. I'm spoiled by the visual advantages over the iPads, and Mac Books. Thanks to B&H for always making the purchase so easy.

Replaced my wife's all-solid state 27" iMac... this much faster. So far no problems. Highly recommend the nano anti-glare screen! I have the 27" nano glass Studio monitor as well (with a Mac mini) and at mid-morning, the sun is directly on it at 60 degrees. or so. NO LOSS of screen image! Remarkable actually compared to standard screens. Also, NO loss of clarity or image quality. Bottom line, the 24" iMac works well and is literally half the weight of the 27" it replaced. Again, splurge for the anti-glare version.

My old apple i-mac was 11 years old and it was time for a new one since I could no longer update my operating system.\nTo be honest however, this new computer is no faster than my 10 year old one. \nMaybe it is because I don't use it for complicated applications.\nIt is pretty much a tool for my business, that's it.\n\nThe display is better but if it was not for not being able to update my operating system I would have kept my old one.\n\nOverall it is fine, I don't get too excited over a computer.

This iMac replaced an older iMac that was just not running well anymore (many years old). We need a fast machine as we shoot portraits tethered to the computer using Phocus. The Phocus software isn't the greatest but this computer has it working well! Everything else (Google Drive, etc.) is absolutely lightning fast. Was worried because it's a smaller screen, but it wasn't too much of a downsize and I haven't 'missed' the few lost inches. Highly recommend; mini workhorse!

My only criticism of Apple is that they charge so much for storage. I suppose I could have gotten a cheaper external drive, but I wanted to keep things as simple as possible.\nJust one warning for Dropbox users (I have to use it for my work): When I upgraded to this iMac, the photo thumbnails in Dropbox refuse to load, which is a HUGE hassle. I don't know if the problem is on Apple's or Dropboxe's end, but they can't seem to sort it out and it's a known issue.

Having gone from a 27 inch iMac from 2016, I feel like I am driving a rocket ship now! I hardly notice that the screen is 2 inch smalle. The machine is so fast with a bumped up RAM of 32 gb. As a pro photographer I can now utilize everything Lightroom and Photoshop has to offer. I thought about a MacBook but realized a big screen is best for photo editing. Paying with Pay Boo sweetened the deal with 12 monthly interest free payments!!!

I am a long- term Mac owner. Last unit was from 2009. The set up, transition and migration were all very easy. The operation is consistent and excellent. I like the nano glass a lot. I haven't even noticed the difference in operation much, except for better speed. Love it. Speed and memory are perfect for my uses. Entirely satisfactory. And than you B&H. Always excellent!

Just starting to play with the new IMac, since my former one was 2015! I thought I would miss the larger 27 display but surprisingly I found it big enough to show my photo art correctly and it takes up less desk space. with 512 and 1 TB, speed is awesome and capacity great. As a Mac fan, there is nothing I dislike. I even love the blue color, it is just a soothing subdued tone.

This Mac is exactly what I need and it meets all my expectations. I've had three iMacs (all 27 models) prior to this one. I do a lot of photography and enjoy the large screen, but I've gotten used to the 24 screen and it's perfectly fine. My last Mac was getting tired, so this one seems super fast. It has plenty of storage and navigates quickly from task to task. No complaints.

When I had heard that Apple will no longer support the Intel bases iMacs after about a year I decided to go ahead, and I am so glad I did. The speed of this new iMac is all I had hoped for. They love the screen and the ease of use having the camera and mic built in versus some of their older computers where they were separate inputs, and confusing. I have been with Apple since 1980 and they make a quality product that simply keeps working. I have a five-year-old iMac with M1 chip. Works great, but I wanted a backup just in case. I trust the migration will go well, but if not they have excellent onshore support.

Excellent computer, high speed processor. I had high expectations and all came true. Highly recommend for everybody. I used the previous one, the same type of iMac but without M4 chip for almost 8 years with no problems whatsoever. Excellent buy!!!
