Hello software-seekers of the MS/PC type. I wouldn't call myself a computer tecchie/nerd by any means, but I know just enough of the commands for the basics in the softwares I need and commonly use. Partially for finances sake, I installed a new/faster/larger Solid State Drive (SSD) w/help back in Dec. '15, yet operated all this time w/out installing office software.... It's been a miserable 3 months w/out good document editing or even old file retrievals... Now, back in action! I used MS Office Pro 2007 on my old SSD Windows 7OS... Just in the Word document options is almost maddening. I love it for the flexibility and customization of document/file modifications and layouts or personalization options; but I chose "No" on easy to install as I had to phone in for automated authorztion and what seemed-like an endless and prolonged series of number groupings to approve my Office 2013 (which I'd already paid for and installed the 25 digit installation key when loading onto computer)... It asks "easy to use", I only chose "Yes", because there isn't a middle option; It's actually not terribly easy to set up and begin usage, but once you set/save your seemingly-endless profiles of custom options such as on MS Word, its amazingly capable, stable, and options that may take you the rest of your life to learn just inside one of these various Office programs- Its actually super cool and allows you to even set up documents in foreign languages, such as with Asian-style characters and formatting- Scary, it's like an International Professional Office/Business program.... In fact, I almost thought about the simplicity of getting Office home instead, but ultimately there's no regrets because of the amazing capabilities within this overall software; even though I'm not a large corporate/ Million$$ business tycoon trying to score my next deal.... I think IF you needed it for large-scale mid-administrative or higher-grade corporate work, this software will probably do the trick. Lastly, I'm glad I saved the $$ and the greater difficulty which would have come IF I'd bought the latest and greatest in the 2016 Office. Still, no regrets at all in throwing "lease money" away by wasting it on Office 365 every single month until I got rid of this old, but very fast Dtop beast!... Very easy to install. I had Quickbooks 2000 before this and am amazed how much their product changed over ten years. At first I thought it would be difficult to navigate on the program, but when I began to use it, I love it.\nI would recommend it to someone who has a small business with no employees.

MS Office 2013 is a good well-done product. It contains a huge host of capabilities. No one ever uses it all. I rather think that someone coming into MS Office at version 2013 with no experience with any previous versions of Office could review it even better than I can at this point. I have used Office 2003 for many years and have it's menus and procedures well-mastered. So now I come to 2013 where everything is totally discombobulated (sp?). I have a terrible time finding stuff. Once I get used to it it will probably be OK. Since 2013 can do so many things, MS has tried to organize them in a logical way as simply as they can. But at best it's not simple. MS Office 2013 Professional works well, as described. I enjoy using it.
Installation was challenging from the USB:
1) the .exe install program couldn't find the program on the usb memory, which is where the .exe was sitting. Searching folders on the usb found another installation that downloaded from the internet. Over an hour on a slow line.
2) the PKC supplied was for another region. The world is still divided into regions! I contacted MS help on another continent, and spent about half an hour on 'chat' with a very helpful person who stepped me through getting a product key that worked. After this, all was good.MS Office 2013 Professional works well, as described. I enjoy using it.

Glad I was able to find a version of Office that I am familiar with. And for which I don't have to pay an annual subscription fee. Only downside is that this older version of Office does not come with Outlook, so I continue to use Windows 10 mail, which does not integrate as well.

I didn't know Microsoft only sells medialess copies of their software in the US. That affected my buying decision. I thought the software could still be acquired with a disc. It can’t in the US, only in developing nations.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe method of US distribution Microsoft uses is PKC, or Product-Key-Containing. It's a box with a Product Key inside. You have to download the software directly from Microsoft. I was allowed to download an .ISO, burn it to a backup disc, and install it from the optical drive. \r\n\r\nOne problem with installing the software was a previous version of Microsoft Office, Starter 2010 was installed and I didn't uninstall it prior to installing Office 2013. The Office 2013 purchase isn't an upgrade, this is a full install. It contains 32-bit and 64-bit editions. \r\n\r\n The box shows the features and limitations of purchasing this software license, such as no future support for upgrades. Microsoft has plans you can pay for to increase your license. \r\n\r\n\r\nThis software works pretty slick in Windows 7. I bet on a fresh system install this will be a seamless install. The functionality of the program is bar-none better than 2010. My technical college is using this version, and so I upgraded. I wouldn't have known how much friendlier and more stable the 2013 version is. I really like the background images on the Windows. True Window Dressing. When did Microsoft become so solid with their software they could focus on beautifying it? It's truly becoming a new type of Windows. \r\n\r\nGet on board with the newest office for better performance and a more intuitive experience. The new Word operates "smoother" is all I can say. Word adapts to your mistakes automatically, it just feels firmer and sturdier. \r\n\r\n\r\nHere I thought Windows was going 2D. I thought the screens in Windows 8 looked like paper. But the performance and stability of their software won me over. It even fixes itself. That installation problem resolved itself and explained how to avoid it in the future. What? Wait until Microsoft is driving our cars. That will be something, won't it?

I started using Microsoft Word in the mid-1990's in my job when the company I was working for switched from Word Perfect. At that time I began using Microsoft Word 2002, which came in a bundle at that time that was called "The Works." I did not find it difficult to switch from Word Perfect to Microsoft Word and I found that very soon I was back up to normal speed in my work. In May of 2015 I had to switch computers and the computer I bought had Microsoft Office 2013. Although it was slightly different than Word 2002, again I did not find it difficult to get used to Word 2013 and get back up to speed. It is a very good word processing program which allows many different options for the arrangement of the items in your document and for easy revisions.

After using earlier versions of Office, I find it gets a little more complex and a little less user friendly with each update. There are some nice new features, and in time they will make me more productive, but I am going up the learning curve. In general, very solid software.

When one uses "recycled" software you have to be careful. Automatic updates may cause the software not to work. Upgrading the operating system can cause the application software not to work.
I've learned my lesson. I keep one desktop just for the application that work. No updates no upgrades.
With this copy of QB I turned off updates. ever install updates. Turn off all the promotions and unused features.
If you want all the "bells and whistles;les" buy retail pay the full amount.

When running windows XP, (The reason I purchased this SW) updates are not possible so there are a few problems with QB that has to be discovered to make a work-around, if possible. I don't know how this might work on Win 7 with updates or install ??? On XP have discovered some multiple company management problems. It will have to be checked every time when switching between companies to make sure the company loads with current data.

I purchased this product for my MBA classes as well as my business. I really like this product thus far, it is very easy to use; however, I had to delete one of my Microsoft Project programs in order to install the Microsoft 2013. In comparison to other products, this product trumps them all.

It is great is working really good, I used because I am students I just purchase a new computer with windows 8.1, and need to upgrade to the new version of Office, it is easy to use to be honest, but I learn as I go alone I got use to 2003 Office, that this is different. I recomend home and student version it is fun.
