I purchased this one for my father in law for Christmas since his old gas powered blower stopped working, initially he didn't want to even give it a try since he thinks cordless tools are underpowered and don't last long. After using once this past spring he contacted me and thanked me for such a great tool. He was very happy of how light it is compared to the gas powered and how long the battery lasts. He is able to blow off two driveways and a side walk all the way around the house and still have more than half charge, he gets uses it twice before charging the battery. I purchased this same model 5 years ago and mine is still running perfect. Even after 5 years my battery life is still good, I am able to blow 3 driveways, 2 patios, and a sidewalk in front of all 3 houses on one charge. As for performance it does a great job blowing grass and dry leaves. The variable speed is great for blowing leaves off of landscape gravel, you can easily control the speed so you don't blow the stones. It could use a little more power when using it on a heavy pile of wet leaves, but most gas powered blowers struggle with wet leaves also. I have been very happy with the leaf blower and my father in law now wants some more Dewalt cordless tools.

It is not a heavy tool, comfortable to use, besides having a beautiful designed is a very strong blower.\r\nPro: \r\n- It is not a heavy tool, even using flexvolt batteries you can still use it with just one hand.\r\n- you can keep it on without holding the button, trigger lock itself is very interesting.\r\n- it doesn't make much noise, 80 to 85 dB inside, 85 to 90 dB outside.\r\n- strong blower\r\n- cleans very well, the wind gap is big, helps a lot in cleaning basement, garages, driveways.\r\n- for short cleaning the battery lasts all day.\r\n- works with 20v batteries and flexvolt batteries\r\nCons:\r\n- continuous use consumes the battery very quickly, around 14 minutes with 6ah flexvolt battery and around 8 minutes using 4ah 20v battery.\r\n- has no speed control, but this is not a big problem because it can be done by controlling the button tightening.\r\n- only has a nozzle, maybe if it had more nozzle options it would be good to increase or decrease the blowing area.\r\n\r\nComparing the pros and cons this is a great blower option, it will not disappoint you working. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great for what I use it for. Cleaning up after jobs, blowing off my porch/deck or the kid's jungle gym. I live in the woods, so it won't work for clearing the tree loads of leaves we get, but it's great for clearing the roof. Much easier to carry this than climb the ladder with the backpack blower.\nOnly complaint I have is the battery clip really holds the battery in. Most DeWalts I have it pops in and out, this is a wresting match most times, and I just got the blower a few months back. \nOverall, a good tool, but don't expect to clear a forest with it.

The blower works really well. It delivers a big volume of air at a good speed. I would give it five stars, except . . . Other reviews mentioned the poor battery life and I have to agree. I get 13 minutes on a fully charged battery. However, I can't complain too much because I borrowed a friend's 36v Stihl (comparable air volume) blower which cost $600 batteries, and got around 15 minutes per battery. So, for $150 batteries, this seems like a pretty good deal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When my corded Black & Decker blower died I decided to look into a cordless model since I had recently purchased a home on an acre with 30+ oak, juniper and pine trees. I landed on the DeWalt 20V Lithium Ion XR and it is one of the best purchases I have ever made. It is lightweight, variable speed and blows at about 90mph at max speed. At max speed it lasts 30-45 minutes so I bought an extra battery in order to have one charged and ready. I am in my 70's and it really helps having a blower that is easy to handle while working, and not having to stumble over a cord is a real benefit. The variable speed lets me use it as a "rake" without creating more of a mess than I'm cleaning-up. I am extremely happy with this product, and it has convinced me to check with DeWalt anytime I need something new.

Good price, good service, like the tool works great. It didn't come in its original box and was without packaging and missing some papers. It was sold as new product but was most certainly repackaged. Wishing I had known before hand what I was buying in regards to why I should not have expected that it would arrive in its original box with packaging and the paperwork.

Except for the battery life, this is a great blower. My wife can use it without me having to go out and start it, unlike our gas blower, lol. We get just over 2 minutes per amp hour of battery (so 8.5 minutes for the 4 Ah batteries and 10.5 minutes for the 5Ah battery). It's nearly as powerful as my gas blower and certainly more convenient for smaller jobs.

Out of the gate had to make a guard for the intake out of a plastic pill bottle, keep sucking my shorts into the intake. Drilled holes and glued in place. 2nd, remove the circuit board when it begins to fail. Only works on high but never use anything else anyways. Now it is a great little blower for shop and garage. Not powerful enough for huge yard jobs.

Bigger jobs would require more than a 5amp hour battery. \nMake sure you store this inside in a dry area, mine was stored under the patio with humidity and it was not friendly to it after 3 years.

Use this job site blower to keep my porches and walkways clean. Has enough juice to do what I need and battery life has been excellent. I wish they had put the fan on the other side as a right handed person it does grab my shorts/pants, but outside of that no complaints.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this a couple of days now, I borrowed a store brand from my brother and purchased this because it's Dewalt, I love this blower. I have a good amount of leaves, this pushes them and pine needles very well. On a full charge I get about 15-20 minutes of use for the 20 v 6AH battery. I will need to keep up on the leaves every few days, this isn't a gas powered so I don't expect it to blow two weeks of leaves from my mature trees. But it's light, easy to use, and I thought reasonably priced. I am glad I purchased this, I've wanted one for a few years and after the chainsaw, I decided I'm going to stick with Dewalt for my cordless tools.

The fan functions well and I use it within my garage and take it to the beach. My main issue is it's missing the functionality to plug the fan directly into the wall in lieu of a battery. If Dewalt brought back this feature it would easily be 5 star product.

Helpful for anywhere you need a breeze and can burn through batteries without worry. Does a great job as a fan, but needs an option for wall-power. New models should be able to sit ontop of construction buckets of water for some primo evaporative misting.

I’d like to start this review out, stating that all of my tools are Dewalt, mainly because I like the efficiency of only running one battery system. I purchased this tool approximately six months ago. In that time I would say that I am happy with how well both the hedge trimmer and pole saw cut material. While the pole saw doesn’t have a lot of torque but if you keep the chain sharp, it cuts through fairly large diameter branches. What I like about the hedge trimmer is it has outside teeth on the reciprocating blades so even if something doesn’t fit between the blades, it will still cut smaller diameter branches off. What i am disappointed in is the overall construction of the tool, to me it feels more like a toy when I’m using it. While I recognize the use of aluminum to reduce the weight, especially when the extensions in place, it definitely has come at a cost to the durability. I have already had the tool shaft bend at a connector. Currently the tool is now inoperable because what I would refer to as a powerhead, where the battery and the activating trigger are located, is now not working. I would recommend that you do not buy this tool and instead get something that has steel shafts

I like how compact the blower is. It’s very light as well. It’s to be expected given the size but I do wish it had a little more strength to it. The included attachments to blow up air tubes, mattresses, etc was a nice surprise.
