I didn’t know what to expect with this shampoo as I’ve never had to use a dandruff shampoo before, but this stuff is great!\n\nI work in a paper mill where it’s at least 80° during the winter and over 100° during the summer. I wear a hat at work and noticed a couple months ago that my hair started falling out, my scalp was itching and flaking, my hair was very brittle and breaking and I had these weird little bumps around my hairline- I’ve never had these issues before and I could not figure out why it was happening. \n\nI’ve tried everything to fix this issue with my hair. I’ve tried multiple hair vitamins, liquid vitamins and collagen, supplements, pumpkinseed oil, expensive products that were not doing a thing. \n\nI did a lot of research and it turns out, wearing a hat is trapping the sweat on my head which is causing some issues. Even thought I wash my hat once a week, it’s still trapping the sweat on my head for 12 hours a day which is definitely not good.\n\nThis shampoo popped up when I was desperately searching for a solution and the reviews were good so I gave it a shot. I tried it for the first time yesterday and I’m actually shocked. My hair feels like silk, it’s so soft and just feels clean and it smells so good. I have 0 itching and the bumps on my hairline are already much smaller. I also noticed much less shedding while brushing. \n\nI’m going to keep using it and if this shampoo fixes all my problems, I will cry tears of joy lol. If my hair stops shedding completely and starts growing back I will buy this shampoo for the rest of my life!\n\nIf you’re having any issues like the ones I’ve stated, you NEED to try this shampoo.

I have eczema and other scalp issues due to anemia. Nothing has worked to stop the itch and flakes. It was unbearable trying to sleep at night. I was able to use Selsun Blue medicated which would help somewhat with the itch but it was so drying to my hair that my hair had started falling out. A dermatologist prescribed a generic 2% Ketoconazole shampoo but not only did that make my hair dryer and more brittle but it actually caused my scalp to itch more (it had red dye in it which is not good for my eczema). So in a last ditch effort I decided to try this because it had the Ketoconazole the doctor prescribed (at a lower dose) and it didn't contain the red dye which isn't good for eczema. Low and behold it helped with my itch, it got rid of the flakes, and my hair feels softer and less dry and brittle. My hair also stopped falling out and is actually starting to grow back. It is a little pricy but a little bit goes a long way and it lathers very good with just a small amount. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that is having issues like me.

I suspected that my son had ringworm of the scalp or fungal infection that created a great of itchiness at the infected area where he lost hair. Ketoconazole is best for treating the fungus, and Nizoral shampoo with 1% ketoconazole is the only over-the-counter ketoconazole that we can get. So we decided to try it before seeing a doctor for 2% prescription-strength ketoconazole. I told him to massage the shampoo onto the infected hairless spot, and leave it there while taking shower before shampooing his head at the end. After the first use, the itchiness significantly reduced, and after nine daily uses of Nizoral, the itchiness is almost gone. Nizoral shampoo with 1% ketoconazole works so well in treating my son's itchiness likely caused by fungus infection or ringworm of the scalp!

I have foilayage color-treated hair oily scalp with dry, damaged ends and struggle with flaking and itching. I've tried both salon to drugstore brands, i.e. Biolage, Redken, Head %26 Shoulders, but they didn't work. I decided to give Nizoral Anti-Dandruff shampoo a try and after using it for a week, I started to notice a reduction in flaking and itchiness. So what's the difference between other shampoos to Nizoral, you might ask. Other shampoos contain 1% Pyrithione Zinc which helps control dandruff and itching. With Nizoral, it contains 1% Ketoconazole which controls fungus that can cause dandruff. This was prescribed for my husband years ago. He thinks an actual prescription was required back then, but at least now it's over the counter. He recently had terrible dandruff trouble again while transitioning from hospital to home via a nursing home and begged me to find this. No problem -- just check out Walmart!!! We now have a huge bottle, with his name written on it in red Sharpie to keep the staff at the nursing home from making off with it. It's done a beautiful job. Now that he's home, my husband's social worker and regular nurse are astounded at how well it has worked for him. A hidden medical solution, now available over the counter, that yields exceptionally good results! We will keep it in our home for future use if needed.

Using as directed on the bottle every 3-4 days, and on the second week I went from flaking like a cheese grater on my scalp to almost completely no flakes when scratching my scalp pretty aggressively in o test flaking. I've been using my normal herbal essence shampoo and conditioner which are mainly to control frizz inbetween the days of using nizoral….just a warning, the medicine in Nizoral does make my scalp burn while conditioning after using it. The discomfort seems to go away quickly, however.\n\nFive stars from me, but another note is that this is EXTREMELY stripping of oils in your hair. It's the driest I have ever felt my hair, but I'm combatting this with leave in deep moisture conditioner.

I've been using Head and Shoulders for over a year with prescription strength (2% ketaconazole) shampoo intermittently, which leaves my hair in a dry, tangled mess that takes a while to recover from. I tried this Nizoral to see if maybe I could treat my scalp without having to sacrifice manageability, and I am elated that I did! My hair was completely transformed from the very first wash! The itch and redness was gone from my scalp, my hair was left soo soft and silky, and had more bounce and volume than it has in years! I am completely sold on this product, and will never switch to anything else. The price is a bit steep for me , but I have to say it IS worth it. Love the stuff!

I bought this because I had pretty annoying beardruff. I'd tried a few things to fix that already, but none worked very well. Then I stumbled upon an article that said to use a shampoo with ketoconazole in it, so I bought Nizoral. \n\nI kid you not, the first time I used Nizoral on my beard, my itchy, flaky skin was cleared up! And all I did was put the shampoo on my beard and skin underneath, let it sit for about 5 minutes, then wash it off. Nizoral worked the very first day!\n\nAfter that first treatment, I wash my beard with Nizoral about once a week, maybe twice. It's been two months now, and I'm very happy with the fact that my flaky, itchy, red, under-beard skin is clear!

this stuff is absolutely AMAZING! Atotal lifesaver, i have tried SO many different shampoos, conditioners, sprays, all of it, %26 nothing worked. My scalp was so bad, dry, itchy, %26 FLAKEY AF, i was super self concious %26 embarrassed about it. tbh i kind of gave up on tryna find something that would help. I've had seborrheic dermatitis for the past 40 years and my go to shampoo has been coal-tar shampoos but about 7 years ago my skin/scalp became sensitive to all shampoos including coal-tar shampoos but I still need them so I've had to severely limit the time it can be on my scalp and be very gentle with it's application which means that the coal tar treatment doesn't remove enough of the oil from my hair. \n That's where this shampoo helps because I can tolerate it a little better than some of the other shampoos I've tried. It's sole purpose is to remove more of the oil left on my scalp and it works for that but it also can't stay on my head for very long either. Unfortunately I'm between a rock and a hard place when it comes to managing my seborrheic dermatitis and I loath the fact that the cost for this shampoo is so outrageously high and it's because they're the only one's that sell it other than prescription shampoos which I have used with some being good and others not so good. They take full advantage of having a monopoly on the consumer version and charge much more than they should but do it because they can.

this is my first time trying this shampoo and have only used it twice this week but even after the first wash my scalp felt so much better and the itchiness decreased by about 75%. it lathers up nicely and you don't need a lot for it to work through your entire head. I moved to an area with hard water and the dryness on my scalp became horrible and led to a lot of itchiness. I've tried regular extra moisturizing shampoos/conditioners and even scalp oil treatments but wasn't seeing any changes until this shampoo. I'm going to keep it and use 1-2x per week to maintain better scalp health.

I had a scalp problem for about 15 years!! My scalp would get very dry, flaky, at times it would bleed and burn. It was a miserable feeling :( I used almost everything I was told would help, even took antibiotics. Nothing helped, until I used this shampoo. I am so thankful with God and Whoever made this product!! because the problem went away!! :) I used it maybe 2-3 times, and I was honestly amazed that the problem didn’t come back even after months of not using it. As a senior male over seventy with a lifetime of dandruff issues that have never gone away more than a day or two, this product, when used every other day for one week, completely eliminated my dandruff problem. Now with just once or twice a week, I use it to keep the dandruff at bay. It is more expensive than most any other dandruff shampoo I ever tried, but that really doesn't matter because none of them worked more than a couple days. And this one did work. Late in life I have dermatitis on my scalp. No pills to take just care with specific products. No more perfumed or color products Nizoral was recommended early on. I've used it for a couple years %26 love it. Its aroma takes a little getting used to but it grew on me.\nIt has helped to use this Nizoral shampoo. There's another shampoo they make with no scent compared to this one if ya really don't like th aroma. Both are excellent products. Next I'll try th Nizoral hair conditioner too. My daughter and I both tried every remedy and shampoo under the sun and nothing worked even a little bit. But this product here, I heard about on TikTok. Everyone said it wouldn't only treat the dandruff, but treat the root of the problem too. Apparently, some dandruff issues are caused by a fungal infection that this shampoo helped relieve very visibly with just the first wash! After the third wash, both our scalps cleared up almost 100%. T-Gel smelled so bad I switched to this and it not only almost cured bad itching instantly, but overnight hardly any dandruff. I typically use Paul Mitchell Tea tree but it hasn't been working well in the texas heat, but this stuff due to the Ketinazole it really helps with the bacteria growth that causes dandruff and flaky skin. Not only does it smell fresh but it is the few shampoos that actually leave my hair "frizzless" or straighter after drying all others my hair still gets wavy after being damp.

This shampoo took care of my itchy scalp problem. I never had flakes but a constant itch, so I wanted something medicated. The itching stopped but my dried my hair out, so I won't use this as often as the package recommends. I may only focus on my scalp the next time I use it to prevent my hair from drying out. Overall, I would say it does take care of itching, but be careful if you have curly hair. You may need to double up on your moisture before and after using it.

Definitely helps to rid of dandruff buildup or whatever is going on despite my naturally oily and thick hair. Gotta soak my hair, try and work the shampoo in, but because my hair is so fine and thick I have to add a bit more water up to 2x to get it to my scalp where it needs to go. I switch it out with my Raw Sugar Clarifying Shampoo to help with my oiliness. Smell isn’t unpleasant or great. smells fine. Works so much better than tea tree oil, head and shoulders and anything else, really!

Leaves my hair and scalp feeling clean. I've been using it for 2 weeks and already see the results. I only use this twice a week and use my regular shampoo in between these. I wash my hair every 2-3 days. So for example if I was my hair on a Sunday with Nizoral, I'll wash my hair with regular shampoo on Tuesday, and then I'll wash my hair again possibly on Friday with Nizoral, and so on. \n\nCurrently no flakes, no itchy scalp, no overly oily scalp, and most importantly ZERO dandruff!!

This is a special anti-dandruff shampoo. It really kills Fungus. EWE I get it.. But if regular dandruff shampoos do not work try this. Use a smaller amount than normal. Lathers like mad. Smell is not great but not bad. Before this I was unable to get the scalp issues resolved. Also, bonus prize. Rub the lathers on your face to help kill the things that causes some types of acne. Do not need extra just pull the lather down and scrub your faces before you rinse it all off.

this shampoo works great, my dermatologist told me to use this on my face to clear up my redness from shaving, I was broke out pretty bad. But when I started using this shampoo on my face, along with the medicine she prescribed me (a cream) I started clearing up. Just don't wash around your eyes with it, it may burn your eyes. I found out the hard way. Before using this shampoo for a body wash please consult your doctor or dermatologist. Not everybody's skin type is like mine.

Writing this review because I live on reviews. The shampoo is a game changer. I have tried so many scalp scrubs, shampoos, oils and what not for dandruff/prosisis, this works awesome with t-gel from neutrogena. The ketoconazole in my opinion is the chefs kiss. The smell is god awful but who cares as long as your not shedding in dandruff and embarrassed, or have scabs, dry skin, build up or what have you, as soon as you put your other hair oils, sprays, etc the smell is gone!

I got this because it's the only OTC branc with ketoconzale in it, even at only 1% though. My head feels the same as using ant of the other dandruff shampoos though; the Neutrogena salicylic acid shampoo feels very comparable to this. Just anecdotal, but Reddit hairloss forums swear that using this along with Rogaine helps to have better success with results. Definitely helps me with the itchy scalp that the Rogaine liquid solution gives me though!

actually gets rid of flaking, irritated skin and treats the problem. I've been alternating this and t/sal shampoo and it's been working great for me! the t/sal is great for removing buildup and this shampoo treats the actual problem. highly recommend using these. I also have seborrheic dermatitis on my forehead and outer ears and this has helped tremendously. I haven't been using the t/sal shampoo on my face. My skin is very sensitive and I've had no bad reaction to this.

I used it only once it cleared 95% of my head i used twice i am fully cleared all d way highly recommend it also smells really good too it says to use 3-4 times for 8 weeks but frankly for me at most 1 week of use is more than enough i would stick to it but my hair feels dry after using this shampoo to stop hair fall due to friction i use livon anti frizz serum later its best to make your hair smooth friction free instead of oil which makes hair sticky all over 10/10

Nizoral shampoo has been my go-to for controlling scalp inflammation. I actually look forward to wash days knowing my scalp will feel squeaky clean afterward. Unfortunately, it’s getting expensive and only lasts about three months when washing every three days. It’s also frustrating that my local Walmart keeps it locked in a glass case, so I have to wait for an attendant. I’m currently looking for a more affordable ketoconazole alternative.
