I loved that it connected to QuickBooks so easily and has helped me stay more organized. It has been a tremendous help taking what would take me hours trying to scan with a regular top scanner and has cut my time down. It is able to scan both sides of a receipt or document which is great. It's a very easy setup with only 1 cord provided you basically just plug it in and start your business. The scanner can handle about 40 pages per min if your doing a batch comply. Its also can do business cards along with paper receipts. It's a great product for people who are beginning to start a business and needing help to stay organized.

This document scanner scans pretty much anything you can throw at it, and quickly. It scans both sides of a printed document at the same time. For longer typewritten documents, it's a life-saver for getting them into pdf or text format.\n\nBut the accompanying software is a bit arcane. Trying to get it to follow all the parameters you set and remember them as a "one-touch" setting is tough. Lots of modal windows to step through, and finally, once you think you've got it right, something else reverts. Takes a good deal of trial and error to set up user presets. But the good news is it works right out of the box without reading the manual.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is a powerhouse for scanning lots of typical sized photos. I would hesitate to use this if I were scanning priceless, or older photos (pre-90s). The machine does a lot of the work for you by pulling images through, but the mechanism is a bit aggressive and a few photos had visible marks on them after moving through. If you need to save time, don't care about perfectly preserving the physical picture, and have a lot to go through, this is your pick.

I bought it for scanning documents and photos. I've set it up on both a Mac as well as PC. Both computers required a little more work to get it to scan but after setup it seems to be working very well. Initially I had some lines showing up on the scans but after taking a microfiber cloth and wiping down both the rollers and glass it seems to have stopped. Some of the colors in the scanned photos look a little off but I'm not familiar enough with changing the settings to get them 100% perfect.

That said it is not the most user friendly. It's definitely not as easy to use as my old fujitsu scansnap. I was worried about the software since I have a windows 11 computer but I had no problems downloading from canon's website.

If you are a professional photographer, get the Epson photoscanner for twice the price. For the average consumer, this is the one to get. I was on the fence between the two and I am glad I went with the Canon for archiving all my home photos and for scanning documents very very fast! My wife has to scan (50) pages every week for her work and she had to do it page by page with the old scanner which was tediuous and time consuming. With this one, within under a minute she is done! I think the photos for me came out excellent, could some of them be better? Sure. But for what I needed, this was perfect and fast!!! I uploaded the photos at 600 dpi and the text documents for 200 dpi PDF. The ony thing I wish was this was USB-C instead of 2.0.

This scanner is the best. Its very lightweight only 6 pounds but it's a workhorse. It doesn't take much space at all on the desk. Does double sided pages in the same amount of time as a single side page. It does do 40 double sided pages per minute. The software doesn't come on a CD. You have to go online to Canon to download your software. I scan double sided magazine pages in no time at all. I can save my documents in pdf or jpeg or email it. I can scan different widths and lengths of documents for 1 file. One thing I don't like about it is when it scans and the paper shoots out of the scanner, it gets hung up in the output tray. very much liked this scanner (and, I should mention I received one without charge to review). The interface is extremely simple and the setup is as easy as any peripheral device I own. In the past, I have had to open several different programs and interfaces to capture a scan, whether for photos or PDF documents, which was always less than optimal. This was particularly the case with multiple-page documents, even with a feeder. The Canon native program is simple, intuitive and basically plug-and-play. Saving, grouping, and organizing is easy, and the image quality is exceptional. I would recommend this for anyone who has more than one or two documents to scan per month. Absolutely worth the investment in space and time.

I absolutely love my Canon imageFORMULA R40 Office Document Scanner. This scanner does everything I need it for and is super simple to use. My computer knowledge is pretty limited so now I have something I, myself, can set up and use on my own. Set up was super easy. Download the software, plug 2 cables in, and you're good to go. It can scan double sided, which is amazing.  It's really easy to delete blank pages from a document, it can delete multiples as well.  It can scan multiple pages at a time and if a page is not in straight, the scanner seems pretty smart because it fixes the problem itself. There is not a need to restart if a paper jams up, you just simply remove the page. This machine is absolutely perfect.

I received this scanner for free to try out at my home and review its features and how it performs. The set up was quite easy and made it easier to continue scanning our documents which we do a few times a week whether its for work and or school. It is small but its a great size for my home office and performs very efficiently. I especially like that I was able to scan a few documents at a time and also use the double sided feature which is a plus to save paper. Did I also mention its a scanner and prints making multitasking at work a breeze. I fully recommend this image FORMULA R40II Office Document Scanner to everyone that wants an upgrade in their office to work more efficiently.

Bought to digitize piles of family photos before moving. I would say that this scanner meets my expectations. My biggest reservation is that it has to be attached to a computer as opposed to my multifunction printer/scanner which will scan to a thumb drive or memory card.

I never would have thought I would of needed or wanted a printer like this, but I am so thankful for it. Not only is it super easy to use it prints so well. They colors are so vibrant and the pictures come out so clear. There are so many features to this printer it is truly unbelievable. I love how easy it was to set up and how user friendly it is. I would definitely recommend this printer/scanner to anyone who is in the market for a new one or even to replace your existing one as you will not be disappointed by this one.

I needed a scanner for both photos and documents that would work with my Mac. This one does great. Only issue was I had to find new drivers to make it work. I pray that Canon will keep making drivers for iOS and make a WiFi version.

The short version is this scanner is outstanding. Look no farther. Call B&H and order.\nI ordered another manufacturer's scanner just to find out it was not compatible with my HP computer system. I returned it to B&H. Easy return. No questions asked. Looked at some reviews who slammed Canon and was talking up brand X. Well, I ordered the Canon from B&H anyway and it works well. Easy to set up. Very intuitive. Works fast! I have hundreds (maybe more) old pics I need to scan and am enjoying working with this scanner. Also, I want to point out how happy I am working with B&H.

The first thing I noticed is the size of scanner, was very compact and did not take up much space. It was very easy to setup and software was also a breeze to setup. I was scanning photos in no time and it was fast and easy. The clarity of the scan was as clear as the photo if not better. Thanks canon for making this an easy task that I was dreading.

It automatically detects double-sided documents and scans both sides in one pass. No scanning one side and pulling the paper back in to scan the other side like most all-in-one printers do. \r\nThe Canon R40 document scanner is efficient, easy to use, lightweight, and takes up little space on the desktop (except when the exit tray is pulled out). I am very happy with it and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to scan documents quickly.

It is fast, and good with the double sided.\r\n\r\nI only gave four stars because the advertised "free" included software did not work correctly.

The only real negative to this scanner was that it does not support Linux, I had to install Windows 10 on an old desktop to use it

I have taken on the daunting task of putting the family photos in digital format. This scanner has made it so much easier than using a flat bed scanner. It works very quickly and does a great job on the photos. I was able to get an entire storage bin of photos scanned in about 3 hours. I still have several bins to go but on a flat bed scanner, I would have only been able to get a small portion of them done and they would not have looked as good. I would definitely recommend this scanner.

This scanner is small but mighty. I am extremely pleased with it - it's fast and accurate. The most pages I've put into it at once so far is 15; I was skeptical it could handle feeding them in the correct order but it did great. The only downside is the software for it has closed unexpectedly on me several times (I use a Mac), but I'm hopeful that will get fixed with an update. Very pleased with my scanner.

I extensively researched the best photo printer to gift my mother for Christmas. I wanted a reasonably priced printer (my budget was under $500) that could scan photos and film, connect to smart devices, and keep everything clear and organized. We have not yet used this printer but shopping with BH Photo Video was so easy. Shipping was fast, even during December, and this was the best price I could find!

Love this scanner. Super easy to setup, just take out the box and plug in. Scanner is small and won't take up a lot of room. What I love the most about this scanner is it can scan multiple items of different sizing. Working in the transportation industry I have a lot of paperwork that needs scanned this scanner has helped me so much thru speed and scanning multiple sized items.

So far, this scanner is doing the job and I am satisfied with its performance. Time will tell if it is as durable and reliable as my previous Canon brand scanners - one of which is nearly 25 years old and still going strong after heavy office use. No issues and good results. Purchased the Canon as a replacement for a Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner, which would not work with Mac Catalina OS. The Canon works great and yes there is a slight learning curve because the software is different. I do wish that the OCR software that's available for Windows was also available for Mac, but it's not.
