Upon installation it took the unit almost 24 hours to stabilize at the desired temperature. Once at temp, it seems to hold quite well. This unit is somewhat noisier that the refrigerator that it replaced. This unit is shorter than the unit that it replaced and we really wanted a conventional top freezer unit around 23 to 24 Cubic Foot capacity, but it seems that all the larger units are the "double front door" type that we did NOT want. The layout of the shelves in the refrigerator is somewhat of a disappointment to us. The "large" item shelf in the door isn't the bottom shelf, and multiple 2-Liter drink bottles can be placed on this shelf. The bottom shelf can only store small bottles (condiments, etc) that are narrow (ketchup, salad dressing, etc) and is hidden by the larger upper shelf. You have to bend over to see what is on the bottom shelf. The positions of these two shelves SHOULD have been swapped. The main shelves use molded slots in the walls of the refrigerator for support (4 slots available) with a 5th slot at the bottom for the two salad crisper drawers. The refrigerator comes with two full-width class shelves that fit into the molded slots. However, the top molded slot is so high that a standard jar of jelly will barely fit on the shelf. Even using every other slot, the shelf below an empty slot is just barely tall enough for a fast food drink with a straw in it. It would have been much more user friendly if instead of 4 molded slots, that a rack of shelf rails and some brackets had been used, so that the user could adjust shelf heights to every two or three inches as desired. The freezer section has one shelf and two molded slots for it. Our unit HAS the automatic ice maker. Apparently, whoever designed the layout of the freezer never looked at the size of the ice maker. With the ice maker installed, you CANNOT use the upper shelf slot in the freezer as the ice maker extends into the slot area. Using the lower slot for the shelf results in the shelf having 12 inches available height, while below the shelf there is only 6.5 inches of height available.

I have owned this GE 21.9 cu. ft. refrigerator for about two months now, and overall, the quality is excellent. I have owned many GE products over the years and have been please with the quality, price, longevity and parts availability when required.\r\nThe standout feature for me is the interior flexibility. The shelving and storage crisper drawers and door shelving are very well-designed, making it incredibly easy to rearrange the space to accommodate the items we store most frequently. It feels sturdy and functions exactly as expected.\r\nMy only minor critiqueāand it is a small oneāis that I wish the freezer compartment included an interior light. Aside from that, I am very pleased with the purchase.\r\nThe shipping process through Home Depot was truly impressive. I placed the order on a Wednesday afternoon and the new unit was in my home by Friday morning at 7:30am. Most of the items from the failed unit that I placed in a cooler were still frozen or cool when the replacement arrived.\r\nI paid the additional fee to have my old refrigerator hauled away, and it was worth every penny. The two-man delivery crew was excellent; they were professional and efficient, removing the old unit and installing the new one in very short order. It was impressive to watch them maneuver the appliances through the house so skillfully.\r\nA high-quality refrigerator backed by a seamless quick delivery only made the experience better.\r\n\r\nMy only reason for rating my review as "Good" is for longevity but I am confident the the GE quality will prevail!

Having had the refrigerator for only a couple of weeks is difficult to provide a thorough review. However, so far the refrigerator seems to function quite fine. A couple of things I donāt like are all the plastic shelving. The inability to adjust shelving as in the old models brackets that could be adjusted according to need. Now shelving is molded into the wall of the refrigerator so you get what you get and adjust needs to the fridge rather than the ability of adjusting fridge to oneās needs. Capacity is very good but freezer door pockets jut out a bit too much so they can compete with freezer space and I could see freezer popping open if not aware of this. Temperature steady at zero degrees in freezer and about 38 in fridge. It is a nice looking appliance yet since it is not energy star rated, hoping itāll be energy efficient. But the best thing about is that it is a TOP freezer! You can see everything you have at a glance instead of digging through frozen and hidden items. So much easier than the bottom freezers

We just bought this to replace the GE refrigerator purchased in 1997. Compared to our old refrigerator, this one has cheaper components (the deli drawer is lightweight and flimsy). The tiny shelf on the bottom of the drawer is odd--we have small bottled drinks in it, but it is definitely not an ideal design. The shelf above it protrudes out farther than the other shelf. The crisper/vegetable/fruits drawers stick out farther than the old model, and, with the big shelf in the door protruding out, there are limits to how much can be put on the shelf that holds those drawers. The motor/compressor on this refrigerator is louder than my old refrigerator. It's ok, but I haven't gotten used to it yet. The exterior is very nice. The refrigerator and freezer are both working as they should and are keeping our food at the right temperature. So that is the overall goal. I just wish the drawer for deli was not so flimsy.

Delivered 2 days ago. 1 hour away from 48 hour deadline to return. Ice production meager. Ice barely covers bottom of tray in 24 hours. Nicked in back Panel and top of Vegetable Tray. Shelf placement is a challenge. Setting up for tall items, will make one shelf very narrow, almost unusable. At least one split shelf would have been helpful. Shelf glass is scarily thin. Same with plastic around glass shelves. Exterior bottom looks unfinished. Silver screws and door hardware really look awful against the Black. Good News! Temperature in Refrigerator and Freezer is good. After 46 hours at Recommended settings (3) empty Refrigerator is 32 Degrees and empty Freezer is -2 Degrees. Want to give installers Antonio and Yajaira a positive review. They were timely and efficiently navigating a tight space. The Refrigerator does have a noticeable hum. But, it is in the laundry room. I can close the door.

Capacity is good overall, configuration is OK the top shelf of the refrigerator section is difficult to store things in the rear center and the lighting is poor. There is no freezer light which is cheesy. Cooling seems good so far, energy should be good, shelving is medium. The freezer shelf is glass and the shelf bows under load, scary. The glass in the refrigerator is smooth and things do not slide easily. Our last GE had lines on the glass that made moving items easier and also had a strong wire rack in the freezer. The butter storage in the door is smaller than our last GE. The meat drawer is very small and inadequate. The cabinet is beautiful. Rounded side door edges and very nice handles in feel and design. The finish gleams. The operation is the quietist I ever heard.

I have this unit in my garage in SC and it is working well. Freezer and refrigerator cool to normal temperatures and the temperature adjustment for warmer or cooler has worked well too. I would give this unit 5 stars except the freezer door unseats whenever the refrigerator door is closed, and a few times the freezer door has not re-seated, though this may have been partly due to items in the freezer touching the inside of the door. In these cases, after several hours of being cracked open the freezer has had a good bit of ice buildup, but after sealing the door the defrost system has gradually gotten rid of the ice. I now am sure to check that the freezer door seats after using the refrigerator.

Well here's the things I would like to see, a video showing you how to remove this protective coating from both doors, a video showing how to properly install the handles and how to change the side of the doors to the other side. Other than that, the effort to get the protective coating off is somewhat frustrating, but again videos would help this a great deal. Then you would earn four stars, the only thing left is get some of the waves out of the interior of the refrigerator that has waves. They should be flat or curved but not no dented. There's a depression in one side of the refrigerator. Seems to be the thing going with your general electric refrigerators

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I researched a few comparable models and brands before deciding upon this 21.9 Cu. Ft GE model GTS22KGNRBB top freezer style refrigerator. I am really pleased with the HUGE freezer space. I also love the clear freezer door pocket shelves. It makes it easy for us "shorties" to see what is in them. The lower refrigerator part is also spacious and love the adjustability of all of the shelves and door pocket shelves. One of the deciding factors for this purchase is that this model offers a "Deli" drawer while no other major brands of the same size included one in their designs. Even better is that the Deli drawer is horizontally adjustable in position from center or either side. Way cool! I was not aware until after I purchased this refrigerator that the lower door has a small pocket shelf that is only about 2 inches in depth. What a great idea for tiny things that will otherwise clutter the other pocket shelves. I am already in love with this GE refrigerator from Day 1. Also, the price was perfect!!! Thanks GE, you made my life easier!

This is a solid product that has performed well in the short time we've had it. With it's dimensions, it fits perfectly in the space we have in our older style kitchen. We added an ice maker. It has a great deal of storage capacity and the drawers and shelves are spacious. The freezer is BIG. It runs a little loud (probably not an issue as a garage fridge) and lost a star for that but I understand that that is part of it's energy saving design. I would recommend this product for anyone looking for a basic/traditional fridge.

We live in Florida so the temps the appliance is subject to are greater than the inside fridge.\nThis is a garage ready fridge!\nAmple room in the freezer-we did not add the icemaker , however that is an option we can do in the future!\n\nWe cook 99% of our meals at home and from scratch so having that extra fridge was important.\nWe loaded it up. We currently have a huge stock pot with fresh turkey soup to now prep. \n\nWe store all our dry goods (flour/sugar/oatmeal etc) in the fridge because of Florida bugs.\nI dry brine steak overnight and there is plenty of room to lay that out. The door shelves are fabulous-roomy!\n\nVery well laid out will fully adjustable shelves! Good, except that the air flow vents in the freezer are easily blocked by food placed in and moving around. This is one of the largest-capacity (21.9 cu.ft.) garage-ready units on the market, which is why I picked it. However, I have had considerable trouble getting the freezer to cool below 10F when first installed in a garage during a very cold Dec.-Feb. when my garage temps ranged between 32F and 45F, but typically were above 38F (the unit is supposedly compatible in temps down to 38F). This involved (1) unit replacement and two service calls. The last service involved adjusting the temperature controls to settings that are not clearly explained in the user manuals. The unit is finally keeping the freezer cooled to between 5 and 6F which is not as cold as it should be (it should be 0F). I cannot yet speak of my experience during warmer periods, but I will summarize my experience with 1) the temperature control management of this unit is VERY finicky and difficult to get right; and 2) GE should provide an easily-prepared, simple and short table or guideline of what the typical settings should be under various environmental conditions.

Very large freezer and refrigerator with the ability to configure the shelving helps for many situations. Love the energy efficiency for the garage as it gets extremely hot in there but not \ninside the fridge. Great size, ample storage that seems well designed. Like the fact the freezer door storage is closed so things don't slip out. Seems to be keeping correct temperature in refrigerator and freezer compartments. The only complaint is when the unit is running it is extremely loud! In an open style kitchen, that adjoins a family room this creates problems with the noise level.

I like it. It uses less electricity than my previous garage refrigerator and has more space. It stays cool but I have it set on 4 instead of 3. At 3 (normal setting) it cools to about 40 degrees depending on where you put the thermometer. Many complain about the freezer opening when you shut the frig door. That only happens when you slam it shut.

It's spacious and the clean, white exterior just blends in to the room decor. I'm surprised by how well it seems to fit in despite being so big. It does need to run fairly often and is definitely louder than my primary refrigerator, but the noise blends in like the white noise from a fan. \nThe interior is very spacious. I will say that you have to bend down to pull things from the fridge, so that might be a consideration for some. \nI have the level set at 3 (out of 5), and it's plenty cold. \nWe had a very positive experience with the delivery company... This cycles much less frequently than our old Whirlpool. It is also runs much louder but I like the coil/fan design. Fridge stays at constant temp. The adjustable shelving is nice. The LED light is sufficient. Makes ice fairly fast, faster than our older fridge.

The stainless steel front is magnet friendly, sleek looking, and smudge (fingerprint) proof! The inside is spacious (21.9 cubic feet) with handy gallon sized door storage, deep door shelf for taller beverage containers, and a long third shelf at the bottom of the door. The main refrigerator sports adjustable shelves and separate crisper/meat/ and deli drawers. The top freezer area is ample. All surfaces (refrigerator/freezer) are easy to wipe/clean. The dimensions are perfect for our galley style kitchen space. The unit cools rapidly and maintains temperatures consistently. We have confidence in the GE brand and look forward to many cool years!
