After going through 2 other more affordable ranges, all with the same "out of control thermostats" we took the plunge (and our refund). This is Consumer Reports second best range. Their top choice was too expensive. Although this unit passed all of our tests, it is still a new installation so time will tell. \n\nWe love the controls (especially having knobs) up in the back. On our prior ranges, the knobs were on the front. On two occasions they got bumped ON when somebody rubbed them while passing buy. The last one went unnoticed until the next day.\nThe bottom oven is the only reason we gave it 4 stars in stead of 5. We are older, and having it so far down makes it challenging for large or heavy dishes. That said, we knew going in it was going to be an inconvenience, but having a dependable appliance was far more important. And, besides, we get two ovens to work with. We are plagued with a food allergies, but do really appreciate a good meal, so we cook from scratch almost every day. The lower one will NOT go unappreciated.\nThis range is just a little taller than our other ones, so it's closer to matching the countertop. That makes preparing and cooking just a little nicer.\nThe oven sizes are very useful. The top is great for cookies, pizza, flat dishes, pot pies, etc. That increases efficiency, decreased preheat time, and makes tending the food really easy. The lower oven, which is convection, is large enough to cook a turkey. And both ovens appear to be on point when it comes to temperature control... And so do the burners. \nThe depth of the ovens allow us to use our full size baking sheets and pans. Something their competition struggled with. Which meant we got to struggle with them.\nAgain, we've only had this for a few days. We did play with as many functions as we could during that time. Between store ratings and Consumer Reports reviews (2025), we feel made the right choice. Time will tell, but so far, it looks like time will be telling us for many years to come.
