It takes a lot to exceed my expectations. I have to say that this piece of furniture does so. I expected delivery of a 140 lb package to evince damage (because FedEx) but it arrived in good shape with no damage. Taking the packaging apart revealed no damage to any of the parts. The unit assembles easily. It's a good idea to have two people to move the main cabinet piece into place. After that, one person and 45 minutes, tops, to complete the job. Instructions are clear and simple. The smaller pieces were all clearly labeled with a small sticker, which was placed so that it didn't have to be removed (should I ever want to disassemble this thing). The machining is all very precise; everything lined up very well. No problems, no struggle to assemble. All in all, very clever design. The color is reddish-brown, a bit darker than ""Texas red"", perhaps a bit darker than what is shown in the product images. For us, it works great. Only suggestion: an additional screw at each end for the top panel. That's how pieces like this are often lifted, so the support would be helpful.

So far, I love it. It's very handsome piece with a bit of real wood and attractive mission-style handles. It gives my living room a definite upgrade and feels homey to me. One reviewer noted it was too narrow so he/she could not fit tech equipment inside. I find this to be true, but I am hoping that some of the newer, more streamlined TV/stereo equipment is smaller and will fit. (My stereo is 40 years old!) For me, is a plus that the piece is narrow since my new home is small. It fits a 50-inch flatscreen TV and a few decorative items on top and inside. ...My big concern after reading reviews was that it might be damaged during shipment. I have no idea how I would have sent such an enormous item back. A few noted that styrofoam went everywhere. This was not the case for me. I was relieved to find it very well packaged with long pieces of styrofoam that were not messy at all. There was no damage!! AND, while it is something approaching 300 pounds, I weigh less than 110 pounds and PUT IT TOGETHER BY MYSELF! I am very happy with it.

This cabinet is beautiful and was the easiest thing we have ever assembled. It folded out and then a few more things and it was finished. I don't anticipate needing any more furiture at this time, but I would highly recommend this product. It was so stress free to assemble. FedEx shipped our cabinet all over the eastern US before it finally arrived a week later than it was supoosed to arrive which really stressed me out, but not Hayneedle's fault. I had no problem with them. Also, this was purchased because it had so much space inside for movies, the PlayStation, Xbox and my record player with extra space left over. I am always hesitant to buy furniture that needs assembling. I'm getting older so all of the lifting and time spent on the floor is a literal pain. I am happy to report that this piece is different. They've pre-assembled the base so that it simply unfolds. The directions are clear and easy. I put it together in less than an hour. ONE RECOMMENDATION: The box it comes in is very, very heavy. Too heavy for one person. I pushed it inside my door and unpacked the contents right there. I then carried each piece to my living room where the TV stand will live. This helped me manage the weight. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!

I found this piece to be well thought out and it had to be manufactured to exacting specs, because everything aligned and fit together so perfectly, with incredibly very little hardware to hold it all together. In the end it is a very solid, good looking piece. Only negative is that there were 3 very small blemish marks, like it had been scuffed to bare wood, but luckily they are in not too noticeable places and Old English made them disappear. Otherwise the finish is a very nice quality woodwork. I'm very happy with this purchase.

For the money, it's okay. I used to work for a company that would ship large items out, so I am somewhat familiar with how boxing should look like of large delicate products. To me the box looked like it was opened by another customer who taped it up as best as they could before returning it. When I set all the pieces aside I noticed, minimal scratch marks (Not a huge deal breaker for me, but still not appealing). As I began constructing it, I saw damage to some of the screw holes and wood mounts. One was broken off and at this point I felt like I had been shipped a returned product. One of the side pannels took some effort to install as well. I will say that the build is easy and it looks nice, but knowing what I know from building it... It's a cheap product.

This was my wish for the best tv stand that was REAL Wood and looked like REAL furniture! NO printed woodgrain ANYWHERE! Good design. The instructions were a little weak. The screws in the top were to o close to the edge. A hex top on the screws would make for a much easier installation with a red warning to only tighten until snug. I was fortunate and saw a small dimple appear on top. Another solution would be to have a washer as a part of the screw (like Kreg does, with the screws only long enough to secure the top.

The TV stand is of good quality wood and I like the design feature. However, I was a little disappointed when it arrived and I unboxed it and it was of a darker color than the advertised picture. This is a well made piece, and went together very easily. I like the color and the quality, but I did not realize that the 2 solid wood doors on the front are dummy, and cannot be opened. This cannot be put up against any other piece of furniture as it makes the bookcases on the side unusable. I needed it as part of a full entertainment unit.

I needed very specific measurements for a tv stand and this was perfect for the small space we needed it for. Our 55 inch tv fits on it just right. I put it together by myself in about a half hour. It was packaged really well. I love that it has cutout for all the wires and adjustable shelf heights. The chocolate cherry color is beautiful and I like it so much that now I'm busy looking for a matching coffee table and end table.

Love this TV stand! It is a bit darker in real life than the photograph indicates but it is still a very nice piece of furniture for the den. Putting it together was incredibly easy. Couple of items to note: 1) it is very heavy so I recommend having a couple of strong hunks nearby when it is delivered to get it into the house 2) you will be left with a HUGE amount of packing materials to dispose of.

While this item is not made out of solid wood (partially hardwood, partially veneer), it is incredibly sturdy. It took 2 people to get it in the house, which says alot about it. The whole thing was super easy to put together. Top is hardwood with veneer and overall the whole thing is beautiful. Would definitely recommend it and buy it again. The value was very good for the price.

Went together fast and accurate. Has few loose pieces and they are precision fit. great product and would recommend. should know that the product is heavy while in the box. Beautiful tv stand, very easy to put together. It was darker in person than in the picture but still fit with my decor. My only issue with the product is that the back had been damaged in shipping and along the seems where it unfolds to form the side panels. The sides weren't that bad, small chips that could easily be over looked, but the gash in the back is a little harder to overlook. We kept it because the piece was heavy and the pieces were already out of the box when we noticed. Overall the piece is nice its just hard to get past the hole in the back.

I’m a 77-year-old woman. With a little help from a neighbor, we put the console together in no time. It was so easy, the brackets that were pre-installed, made it so easy to put the sides together only used bolts To attach the top to the sides as I recall. The wood is so lovely It doesn’t look cheap.

I bought this for my 70"" tv. It works for that purpose. My problem is that it came in with concealed damage. There was a hole punched in the back panel that we didn't see until we already had it half assembled. The damage was obviously there before it was boxed. We didn't return it because we had cut up the box to get it out and because it was so heavy. Since the damage is to the back panel we are able to set it against the wall and the damage not be visible.But I know it is there, therefore the low rating.
