[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Second only to my Hamilton Beach microwave oven, the Hamilton Beach Professional Sure-Fry® Digital Toaster Oven, Model #31241, has become my new go-to kitchen small appliance. It toasts, bakes, broils, and air fries, all in one attractive package occupying a small footprint on my kitchen counter.\n\nThe Digital Toaster Oven arrived very well-packed in its own box. All parts were plastic-wrapped and the unit was encased in styrofoam inserts. The toaster oven has an attractive stainless steel body with glass door and four chunky matte black feet, which maintain its stability. \n\nThe digital controls and LED screen are well-marked and very easy to read and understand. Accompanying the oven are five trays and racks: crumb tray, removable rack, broil rack, bake pan, and wire mesh air fry basket. Along with the toaster oven and trays were a set of clear, thorough Use and Care instructions.\n\nThe Digital Toaster Oven fits nicely on the kitchen counter easily clearing the upper cabinet. The oven measures ~17" W x 15" D x 9" H. The polarized two-prong plug is two feet long, and everything is easily accessible at the front of the unit. The glass door allows you to see how the cooking is progressing. The 1500 watt oven is very substantial, weighing about 15 pounds. It stays firmly in place on the counter.\n\nI especially like the easy-to-read blue LED control panel on the upper right front of the toaster oven. The touch controls and selection knob are clearly labelled and operate as they should. Everything is intuitive. Once plugged in, you just touch any button to turn the oven on. Turn the Selection knob to one of six settings and pre-selected temperature and cook time are displayed. There are selection buttons which allow you to adjust the cook time / slices and temperature / shade to your preference. There is a Start/Stop button with red light to let you know the oven is on, and an audible beep that alerts you when cooking is complete. The LED displays a countdown timer as cooking progresses.\n\nThere are two rack positions in the oven, clearly labelled on the glass door, allowing you to adjust the removable rack higher or lower. The oven and trays are easy to remove and wash, and the cooking capacity is certainly adequate for preparing one or two portions.\n\nMy only complaint is the fact that the top and sides of the oven exterior get very hot during cooking and children (or an unsuspecting adult) could easily burn their fingers by touching it. Since the oven is very quiet during operation, one must exercise appropriate precautions. You will need to practice a few times with the toast and bagel settings, as the standard settings came out too dark to my liking.\n\nHamilton Beach provides a generous three-year warranty on the Digital Toaster Oven. It has been a go-to small appliance in my kitchen and I am overall quite pleased with its design, features, and performance. I award the Hamilton Beach Professional Sure-Fry® Digital Toaster Oven, Model #31241, four stars, along with my recommendation.
