[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For reference I am 5'3” AFAB 28” waist. The modern black is a lovely, uniform color that washed well. I do notice a difference in the thickness (thinner) of the denim used for this wash compared to the other blue style I have, but these were finished better (no fraying at buttonholes, no loose threads) so I have no complaints. I purchased a 31x30 and machine washed and dried for maximum shrinkage (comfortably loose on the waist and thigh after shrinking). Great relaxed jean look, but one thing to note that may be a dealbreaker for some is that due to the shallowness of the butt curve (the part that runs vertically) there was excess fabric on me leading to a bit of a diapery/baggy look that I don't have on any other jeans. Women's jeans typically have a greater curve than men's so def recommend trying before you buy if you're used to women's jeans. Will be getting mine tailored.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the colour of the denim. It has a deep dark blue colour. Out of the packet, they are quite shiny, but not in a 80s Miami Vice kind of way.(Thank god, the mid 80s did not age well) They are heavy, which was expected, considering they are 14oz.( I walked about like A Cowboy for a while until I got used to them. Not sure I would be able to mount a horse wearing these at the moment, probably not even a little pony, or even a pavement with a high kerb, but I am sure they will break in a bit after a wash or two. I like them, looking forward to wearing them when the weather gets a bit cooler.

I'd been meaning to buy selvedge 501 jeans for a while and Red Tab sale was too good to miss. They are 'shrink to fit' and I've not had 'shrink to fit' since 1970s but I bought perfect size raw denim so won't try that so I keep them perfect size. I'll just follow cold wash instructions. These are great jeans. I'm enjoying wearing them and feel good matching with my other Levi denim shirts and baseball caps. Also, other Levi shirts. I can see why younger people are checking them out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a 36" waist and ordered a 36" and 34". The unwashed 36" was very loose and the 34" fitted my waist. Anticipating shrinkage I went with the 36" and returned the other pair.\nThese jeans have not shrunk as much as I expected, even after two 95°C washes. They fit in the waist but are wide in the thigh and full in the seat. Perhaps what might be called a cowboy cut, comfortable in the saddle. I wanted a regular fit but these are looser than my Lee 101z or Wrangler 13mwz.

These jeans make up my day to day wear all winter. I got the dark blue ones and the color holds up well and is a nice contrast to colorful shirts. When you put these jeans on, it feels like they are a size too small and within hours of normal wear they stretch so that you can slide them off so plan accordingly when you size the fit. Cons: I prefer darker stitching and not having my pant size broadcasted to everyone. Some Levi's take the size off Big and Tall, but these tell everyone….

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I know these aren't labeled shrink to fit and I'm actually afraid to wash and dry them bc of how tight they already are. (I do have a pair of shrink to fit and those are even smaller.) Most 501's to me are about one size smaller than all other styles. I still buy my usual size anyway. I like a tighter fit, but some 501's really push it like this one, but after two wears they're broken in to the point of not not being too tight (whew!).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great jeans. For me, I did a basin soak for 30 minutes at 60°C, then rinsed them to remove the excess indigo. After that, I wore them for about 1.5 to 2 hours with little exercise and plenty of walking. I didn't want them to stretch too much, as people mentioned in the forums. Mine are Egyptian-made, and I love the craftsmanship. The old ladies did an amazing job. Much love to them, and thanks, Levi's.

I have several Levi's Premium 501 Men's jeans and these fit correctly, like the others and last for several years. The photos on the website are accurate- they are a nice, deep black. So far so good, but they do fit small. I got the 34"100% cotton) and will have to stretch them out or else trim a few pounds, haha. Why no 35" available in Canada? I believe you offer that size in the US, it would seem you are loosing sales based on the demand in todays market. Maybe people were smaller back in 1980 or whatever, but today 35" waist is not uncommon.

Firstly, these are good Jeans, no doubt. (34W-30L) The main issue is the Length, I measured 31 inches inside leg (a tad more in fact) compared to my Stonewash 501's that are 30 inches exact. No big deal you might say but they do drag around the bottom of my ankles. Now maybe they shrink a bit when washed, we'll see but clearly LONGER THAN THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE!

I've been wearing some iteration of the 501 since the late '60's and these are the best yet! Genuine Selvedge without the annoying left leg "wraparound" of the original (well, there's a slight bit), slightly heavier fabric and thread weight, excellent Vietnamese construction. I got the same size as I've always used in 501/505/511 jeans and they are perfect.

It’s good to see that adding stretch hasn’t impacted the fit of these 501’s. However the material feels ‘different’ to previous pairs - only time will tell whether that impacts the longevity of a typical pair of 501’s. The stretch component is less than other numbers (512’s I think), but I prefer the fit of these.

Its not a perfect world I know but a company like Levi's with a history as long and storied as theirs would have I expect, evolved a QA/QC system within their niche that prevents such deficient merchandise from ever reaching a customer. My complaint was resolved but should not have ever occurred!

Lovely colour and fit , but I find that the pictures on the website are often misleading as to how they fit. On the model the leg looks a bit narrower and slightly tapered. I wish Levis 501 came in a lower waist like the womens fit.
