I was looking for a decent desk chair that was comfortable and wouldn't be to expensive. After looking at numerous chairs and reviews I decided on the Vortex chair. While it is a gaming chair it didn't have the extreme looks of other gaming chairs which was something I was looking for. The assembly was very strait forward and simple. Having a second person to hold the back when attaching is helpful but can be done solo. It's pretty comfortable and decently solid for the price I paid which was $140. I don't see this being a chair that lasts for 5-10 years but with the limited amount I use it it's possible. It does not have the amount of adjustability as some of the other chairs I saw such as arm rest height and position but it was worth the reduced price for me. All in all I'm very happy with the chair for what I paid for it. If there are any major issues I'll update the review but for now I think it's a good chair for the price range.

The quality of this chair seems reasonably good although time will tell. It was requested as a birthday gift after having sat in one owned by a friend. Although she exceeds the expressed weight limit significantly I made the purchase for her to use at her sewing machine. I have sat in it and it is comfortable even though I'm close to the 225 lb. weight limit. As for the instructions... they leave something to be desired. I purchased it unassembled and put it together myself in 45 minutes. The instructions indicate that all the (8) bolts should be tightened with your fingers which is impossible as each goes into a recessed well. The order of assembly is that the arms are to be bolted to the seat first then the back. If I had to do this again I would loosely bolt the arms to the back first and then the seat as you'll have to lay the chair on its side unless you have an assistant to hold the back in place. It was not terribly difficult to assemble.

As noted in the title, this is a comfortable chair, fits me nicely, and has a tall back (I'm 6'1). Most office chairs are not tall enough to give real back support when you want to lean back. I can lean back in this and rest my head against the back, rather than my head flopping over!\n\nI wanted real leather rather than faux leather as it will last longer. There is also a cutout as you can see right about where your head and neck are, and that is a nice cooling feature when you have a fan blowing on you.\n\nI am not a gamer, but this style of chair is just what I need for long hours at the computer. And yes, I secretly like the bright rad chair - eye-catching!

Thank you stables for making such a comfortable chair. I so appreciate the ability to be able to buy it for her and have it shipped free to her apartment. The driver was wonderful. He brought it inside the apartment and he left it up against the wall. Her neighbor set it up for her. Thank you again for a magnificent wonderful comfortable chair.

The good is it's super comfortable as soon as you sit in it you're like oh my God this is amazing and I no longer need a lower pillow for my bad back with this chair. the arms pull up and down which is how all gamer chairs should be unfortunately most or not. The bad is the bolts all but one stripped for the armchairs so just be very careful when you're putting in the arm chairs barely tightened it at all and then do them all at once and then try your best. I had two white ones and had to return them because the seat leans forward and not comfortable on all of the white ones for some reason but this black one worked out

I sat in the Emerge Vortex Gaming chair in a store. My wife and I needed to replace our desk chair. It seemed comfortable and fit our lower backs well. The reclining was soft and easy too. When we received it the assembly was fairly easy. It is still a little stiff but hopefully will soften a little with use. The reclining is rather stiff . I am disappointed that it did not come with a headrest pillow. I was told that the model we purchased did not come with the headrest. I tried ordering it but was unable to do so. I hope it develops into the chair we tried in the store.

It is a good chair for a desk gaming or not. The chair is comfortable and the arms adjust to move out of the way to grab things near by as not having to reach over. Suggest that if you can tote a fully assembled chair from store do so. My assembly was going well until one screw hole didn't line up well. I then had to remove a couple other screws that went into the seat to adjust for the miss aligned screw hole. It took a little bit of doing. Once all was corrected and tightened up the chair is great. They have options of 4 colors the black/grey is neutral and can go with any decor.

I totally recommend this amazing chair. I am not a gamer; I am an old lady who spends hours at her desk. It is so comfortable that I do not want to leave it. The height the sturdy arms the tilt - all adjustable to support my entire body and eliminate the backpain from my previous chairs. Only negative is it was very difficult to assemble by myself. The pieces are heavy and hard to maneuver into position. But the instructions are totally clear - and in English. No YouTube necessary. Warning: once settled into this leather nest you won't want to leave.

I just put this chair together. That was easy. Took about 30 minutes. All of the screws are separated and labeled. The wrench is included. This chair is comfortable. I don't sit in it for hours at a time but the time I'm in it is very nice. The arms raise and lower. That isn't an essential feature for me though. It is adjustable for height. Shouldn't be something I do a lot since I'm the only one using the chair. Nevertheless it was easy to adjust. The chair is warranted for like 7 years. Good to know.

I bought this chair to replace the one in my home office that is falling apart. I compared several chairs in the store and online before deciding to purchase this one. It is comfortable and provides ergonomic support even after sitting for several hours. I like that the arm rests move up so that it easily fits under the desk. I wish it provided a little more lumbar support but overall I am happy with the purchase. I have had it for almost a week.

The review title was literally the only word my man-of-few-words stepfather said. But I know he loves it. He is not a gamer but he wanted a desk chair with armrests. I chose the Vortex gaming chair and it was a good decision. Comfortable easy to adjust his seat up and down and nice back support for when he does his paperwork. Plus flip-up adjustable armrests are an added bonus for him. Glad I chose the right chair! Hope the chair lasts a long time!

It's a rather comfortable chair. But what I'd like to see in it is the ability to adjust the arm height but mostly a looser rocking mechanism. I believe I have mine set as loose as it can go and for me it's still too stiff. I bought this on sale for about 1/2 price. If I had paid the full price I'd probably return it. Also it was pretty easy to assembly. There's videos out there too to help.

The Emerge Gaming Chair from Staples is solid comfortable rolls easily and your back immediately feels better. The arm rests rotate up and back allowing closer positioning to desks or tables of various heights. There is no vertical member connecting the arm rest to the chair so even when the arm rests are down there is open space for leg movement wider than the width of the seat. And of course it looks great.
